Chapter 17

When we get outside, I remember his attitude from the hallway and pull my hands away to my chest, rubbing my wrist.

"What is wrong with you?"

He doesn't answer, but continues to walk towards the driveway.

I follow and call out to him.

"Andrew!"

He stops and turns abruptly, making me halt in my step, nearly crashing into him.

His expression is blank.

"Go home," he says, looking towards the driveway.

“What?” I stare at him in confusion before following his gaze.

I see the car that drov

Chapter 17When we get outside, I remember his attitude from the hallway and pull my hands away to my chest, rubbing my wrist."What is wrong with you?"He doesn't answer, but continues to walk towards the driveway.I follow and call out to him."Andrew!"He stops and turns abruptly, making me halt in my step, nearly crashing into him.His expression is blank."Go home," he says, looking towards the driveway.“What?” I stare at him in confusion before following his gaze.I see the car that drove me here driving towards us."I'm not coming with you," I hear him say.“Fine.” I don’t bother to turn back to him just as the car gets to our front.I walk swiftly to it, open the door before the driver tries to get out and open it for me, get in, and shut the door loudly.I see him as the car starts to move through the glass, his hands are in his pockets as he watches the car leave his view.As we get to the enormous gate we came in through, my eyes burn. No——I am not crying about this!I sta

“What the fuck was that with my brother?”I stare up at him, holding my breath.“What… what do you mean?”“You know exactly what I mean,” he spits out.“Actually…” I steady myself. “I don’t.”He leans his other hand against the wall behind me, his breathing heavy.“You were smiling at everything, being unnecessarily accommodating. What the hell was that?”“Wasn’t I supposed to please them?” I frown, trying to understand the words coming out of his mouth.“Yes—not lose yourself to that goddamn Daniel!” he says directly in my face.Already getting frustrated, I shove his hands away from my sides with both of mine.“Well, at least I’m doing something more than sitting and acting like I was the one who needed a fake husband for something.”He grabs my neck—not hard, but firm enough to force my face up so I have to look directly at him.“Watch your tone,” he seethes.“Or else what?”The dare hangs between us, tense and unspoken. He weighs his options, fighting whatever temper is threatenin

  • Married To My Billionaire Stranger    Chapter 15

“Don’t we have a dinner to get to” “Hello." He looks over at Andrew."Brother." Andrew ignores him and uses his hand to guide me away from them. I'm about to ask where we're headed, but just then, the dining room comes into view. The dining room is almost as intimidating as the rest of the house. A long table stretches beneath another enormous chandelier, covered with crystal glasses, silverware, and enough food to feed an entire wedding. Andrew guides me toward the side of the table and pulls out a chair for me. I murmur a quiet thank-you before sitting while he takes the chair beside me. Across from us, his mother takes her seat with the kind of composure that makes me feel like I've somehow sat down incorrectly. Daniel drops into the chair beside her, comfortably. I glance around the table. There is one empty sea

Chapter 14Luxury.Everywhere.It was like heaven had gates, and I had just driven into it.From the perfectly trimmed lawns to the enormous sculptures positioned strategically around the property, everything screamed wealth. My eyes nearly fall out of their sockets as I take in the entrance to Andrew's parents' home. The car glides smoothly along the curved driveway, the tires barely making a sound against the paved path.I turn my head from one side to the other, trying to take everything in.The gardens are immaculate. The fountains look like something straight out of a movie. Even the trees seem deliberately placed, their branches trimmed into perfect shapes.I'd never seen anything like this in my life.It doesn't look like a house. It looks like an ancient palace—Except this one is somehow even more beautiful."Ma'am, I'll drop you at the door and drive off to look for somewhere to park," the driver says from the front seat.I nod absentmindedly, still staring outside.Apparentl

  • Married To My Billionaire Stranger    Chapter 13

Chapter 13The drive back to the house is painfully quiet.I sit in the back seat of the taxi with my arms folded across my chest, staring out the window while the memory of the photograph continues to flash in my head. What organization was that and how did Cassidy have the exact same bracelet with all of them? Was she working for Andrew or was she patnering with them? Or did she know someone from there? Just when I thought I am finally moving forward. He decides to do a turnabout. And somehow, I ended up being thrown out like an unwanted guest.I look down at my phone, to check if there’s any message from Cassy but there’s none yet. And just as about to text her,my phone switches off. Great I forgot to charge it. It’s a little better, I don't need her asking me what happened when I don't even know how to explain it myself.By the time the cab pulls into the driveway, my anger has settled down. I notice a black car packed outside our apartment. I don’t think anything if it bu

  • Married To My Billionaire Stranger    Chapter 12

I startle badly, using my hands to knock down a pen holder by mistake.I awkwardly arrange it back before turning to the person.A man is standing a few feet away.I hadn't even heard the door open. He's tall, with dark hair falling slightly over his forehead, as though he had run a careless hand through it one too many times. His features are softer, with an almost boyish handsomeness that makes him look younger than he probably is. There's something naturally playful about his face—the slight curve of his lips, the warmth in his eyes, the kind of expression that makes it difficult to imagine him taking anything too seriously. His gaze drops to my hand. Then to the photograph I was reaching for. Then back to me.I try to play it off."I wasn't touching anything."His eyes turn back to the paper I was reaching for."Of course."I straighten my posture, ready to defend myself. But then he smiles. It's not really a kind smile—neither would you call it an unkind smile."This is usually
