Brittany's POV

I jumped out of the car as soon as we got home and headed straight into the house, struggling along with my wedding dress.

Thankfully, a few maids came to help me out at the doorstep. The house servants were lined up horizontally in the sitting room, obviously waiting for my presence.

Their heads fell into a deep bow once they saw me whilst I halted my steps, only when I got in fully and a few meters from them. The two maids behind joined the rest.

They remained like that for a while until the oldest one among them—a woman spoke up.

“Congratulations madam on your married life. We've been expecting you for a while, and we hope our services would always make you happy. You're welcome home, My Lady.” A bright smile remained on her lips even when she finished.

She looked beautiful for an old lady, probably ranging from fifties to sixties. Her hair which was partly gray was rolled up in a ponytail, and it matched perfectly with her looks; pretty.

With her outfit and demeanor, she seemed like the head maid and her good coordination amazed me.

“We'll take you up to your room.” She signalled the same maids from earlier and two other to escort me.

They did, assisting with my dress as usual and until we got to the room, I remained wowed. Even if I wasn't in good terms with the mansion's owner, I wouldn't pretend to not see the wonderful interior designs.

I was a person who was usually so keen about her environment and people who were close to me knew that.

“Is this your boss's room?” It was the first thing I asked immediately the room's interior came into view.

Unlike the other parts of the house, this room was much too manly and I suspected it was Ace's room.

“Yes, My Lady.” One of the maids nodded feebly.

“Why did you bring me here? I thought I was getting my room.” I turned to the four maids in the room and raised a brow.

Their heads fell in a bow at once and none said anything for a while, almost getting me pissed off. Their expression told me how scared they had become.

“Will someone answer my question? Why did you bring me here? And I hope this isn't where my things are kept.” I asked the last question as per my certainty.

Bringing me here could only mean they had arranged my clothes in Ace's closet. Besides, I had sighted some cosmetics on the desk which I solely believed were mine.

Finally, one of them replied, “Your family made this arrangement. They clearly asked us to put your things in his room as you both should share the same room.”

“By family, you mean my dad?” I asked the obvious but none of them answered again.

It was probably due to their fear.

Goodness! That man never ceased to amaze me. He really chased me down to this mansion, even when I had granted his request.

I really hoped he didn't place a spy on me.

As a low sigh escaped my lips, no words were said again, and I walked to sit at the edge of the bed.

I'll just endure for the night then iron it out with Ace later on. But it was definitely going to be hard, I couldn't even stand him in the car, that I summoned earlier for my car and driver.

“I need help to take off this dress.”

Two of the maids came to me and one zipped down the dress whilst the other assisted.

“There is nothing else to do, so you can all leave.” I uttered whilst holding my dress tight to my body to prevent it from falling off.

It was a strapless dress whose upper part relied mainly on the zip.

“We still have to prepare your bath, My Lady.” One of the maids beside me voiced out.

“Fine, do what you want.” I replied and fell on my back to the bed, leaving them to do as they pleased.

They all left and I sat up instantly. Ace's cologne on the mattress was so strong that it began to intoxicate my sense of thinking. The maids would definitely change this before I would lie on it again.

Just then, two consecutive knocks came on the main door.

“Come in.”

The door pushed open, and a maid walked in with an envelope in her hand.

“This was delivered early this morning, and it was for you and the young master.” Her head was in a slight bow as she stretched out the envelopes, and I accepted the envelope with furrowed brows.

“Alright.”

She left the room after one last bow then I opened the envelope, reading it through.

Almost immediately, I released a scoff that expressed my annoyance. This was much expected, especially from dad, but I didn't understand why it brought in another surge of anger within me?

If dad could forcefully get me married despite being aware of certain things, then who was he not to prepare a stupid honeymoon?

He even sent tickets on the wedding day. How disheartening!

√√√√√√√√ THE NEXT MORNING

“Good morning ma.” It was all that filled the air as soon as I stepped into the company's building.

Many had smiles on their faces, but all weren't my business as I believed the smiles were just a facade to get in my good books. Unfortunately, it was the worst they had ever done.

“Good morning ma.” Clarissa, my secretary said walking to me with a few other people behind her.

One of them collected my bag and I walked past them all. They followed behind me, with just Clarissa walking by my side and trying to keep my pace.

Our movement was slowly halted by a person I had preferred not to see for the rest of the day. Her presence was an obstruction to many of us, but she only smiled like she had done well.

“Hello, big sis.” Lora called out in her usual casual tone.

Only I and a few people like my mother and secretary knew the deep hatred that was usually depicted for me through that voice.

She was like a force to be reckoned with, and I was extremely ready to treat her to what she deserved.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~I laid Emma gently beside her teddy bear on the bed, trying my best not to stir her awake. Then quietly a soft kiss followed on her forehead before we all made our way out of her room.By we, I meant Shantel, Auntie Ciara, and me. Emma's nanny had long retired for the day since we arrived, as Shantel and I made a priority of taking care of Emma until my auntie returned."She will miss her mommy when she wakes up tomorrow."I sighed, letting the words sink in. Just as if noticing the calm expression that had turned sour on my face, Shantel responded before I did."She'll probably come again before the week runs out. I know my friend is a great mother.""And you're a great friend." Auntie Ciara chuckled in a gentle compliment. The day had been nothing but entertaining. Especially when we just arrived. Shantel and Emma wouldn't stop being all over each other, bonding like they'd met a thousand times before then.Shantel still had her extrovert vibes right from high s

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 97 - Nervous to meet her.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~ I couldn't be more shocked tonight. Was it when I first heard my name called out by the emcee? Or when Ace urged me to go on that stage? Was it when I walked to the podium? Or when I sealed a deal worth $150 billion? A long-term partnership I had always yearned for but failed to get despite my hard work. Then, all of a sudden, I found myself in front of hundreds of business profiles as part of the partnership. I received applause and credit for everything, despite doing nothing. Immediately after the event ended, I felt utterly smothered. Literally everyone congratulated me. Some of which I knew were not genuine. But I was too overly excited to give meaning to whatever motive was behind their fake congratulations. Besides, it was something I'd learnt while growing up. When I finally needed Ace by my side, he was nowhere to be seen until Alex told me he was with his Dad on one of the top floors. And that was how my mood got ruined by Elvira. "Don't

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 96 - The mess she created.

~~ Ace's POV I watched as my father stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, staring into the dark yet night that glistened with lights everywhere. Yet I knew the neutral expression I had managed to mirror on his face contradicted the rage that burned inside of him.The event had only just ended when he called me into this suite on the top floor. But for over twenty minutes, he hadn't spoken a word since we got there. And it made the atmosphere slightly awkward. I expected him to yell as usual. Rant like never before while I gave him a piece of my mind. After what seemed like forever, he eventually turned to face me, his eyes glowing with anger, as I presumed. But his face held something else. Something I barely understood.“Go back downstairs. We can't leave our guests without a goodbye.” He walked to the dark leather opposite me.“What?”“Make sure none of our business partners leaves the event feeling upset.”I stood there, shocked at his words. His facial expression was di

~~ Ace's POV ~~ "You must be so proud to have a competent son who can run the company without issues, Chairman. Not only did he bring home a trophy wife to increase the company's infrastructure, but he keeps closing deals and even bringing more golden collaborations that could make the company more unstoppable." Laughter erupted in the air immediately. My father was enjoying most of the entire conversation with a boastful smile smeared across his face. "Yes. That's why a son is so important. They are the ones fit for these things." My Father, the chairman responded still with that smug look, a look that mostly looked down on everyone else. I suddenly wished to be everywhere but there, just like Brittany who had managed to slip out of our midst when she went to attend to some acquaintance from her company. From where I stood, I could watch her every movement. Just as she had gracefully gotten out of that car outside, my eyes couldn't leave her from that moment onward. I studie

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 94 - A great significance.

The ride to the exquisite hall was as silent and quiet as a graveyard. Except for the low humming of the car and the mellow, low-pitched sound of the tires against the tiled road as we drove, everything else felt awkward.Shantel sat in the front seat, her side of the window open as she stared outside, completely resting on her seat. She hadn't said a word to me since our intense bicker on the back porch of the house. Throughout the reapplication and readjustment of my makeup, it felt so uncomfortable looking her in the eyes most times while we said nothing to each other.Unlike our first makeup session where everything felt at ease. And every conversation came with smiles and laughter.Charlotte, on the other hand, sat next to me in the backseat and I knew she had quite a lot to say to us - Shantel and me. Especially me. But she was barely withholding on while pretending to type away on her phone. I felt her constantly stealing glances at us while she thought I wasn't looking. Or ra

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 93 - More than a betrayal.

If it had been in the past, I would have no worries. It would have been a normal thing. But this was the present Charlotte we were talking about. The same Charlotte who never failed to show how much she despised me. Who believed I did so many wrongs to her brother. Even when I still didn't know what I did wrong."You didn't even say a 'thank you'." She muttered, breaking away from my gaze. "This would have been less awkward."I was dumbfounded. Wondering why she changed all of a sudden when I saw Shantel coming out of the house. She was completely dressed, her curly hair bouncing behind her as she walked. Red heels to match the royal blue dress that stopped above her knees and a red clutch by her right hand. But rather than the calm and cool-headed Shantel I left behind, she looked furious. Infuriated. Rather disappointed. Betrayed. And I felt all the emotions were directed towards me.When she saw us, she tried to mask her emotions. Maybe because she saw Charlotte standing beside me.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~"I asked the others to think of a solution, but nothing seems to come to my mind. It's super annoying but I can't just let this go. I need to do something to prevent a disaster.""It's not the end for you, you know.""And you?" I asked, clearly irritated that I was the only one

  • Married To The Casanova CEO   Chapter 63 - Best friends.

~~ Brittany's POV ~~“Someone is here to see you, My Lady.” A servile voice brought me back to reality. A maid's head was bowing downward with hands clasped together in front.“She says she is an old friend of the Young Ms.” She added, causing my brows to furrow. An old friend? Was it mine or Lora'
