Ivy's Pov

“Why? What did I do?” I asked in confusion.

“He won’t say.”

“I was with him last night and he wasn’t angry with me.”

“You were with him last night?" James asked.

“You must have said something to upset him.” Victor added.

I didn’t. I swear. We were talking and laughing till he left.”

“Paul laughed?” James and Victor both asked in surprise.

“Yes. He was happy, I don’t know what happened. Maybe I better go and talk to him.” I suggested.

“No.” James said, “Leave him for now. Let him calm

Ivy's Pov The maids were just as surprised as I was to see him there. I heard one whisper to the rest, “Mr. Sinclair hasn’t come down since the accident, what’s happening?” “Paul is everything okay?” James asked. “I heard the music I had to see who was playing.” The staff hurried out leaving us alone. “I didn’t know you’d learnt to play.” He said, moving towards me. “I did.” I shrugged. “You still remembered my grandad’s favorite song.” He smiled. “Sure." I lied. " I played it hoping you’d hear and feel better. James said you weren’t feeling very happy.” He frowned. “How were you expecting me to feel after mocking me?” He asked. “What are you talking about? When did I mock you?” “Forget it.” “Tell me.” “Last night, I could hear it in your tone and your laugh.” I shook my head vigorously. “You heard wrong. I wasn’t mocking you. What made you think such a thing?” He sighed. “Because the old you used to behave that way.” “Well I’m the new me.” He

I couldn’t think what I’d done to make Paul upset.“Don’t worry about it,” Victor said, reading my thoughts, “he gets that way sometimes. How about we go see a movie?”“No. Like I said I want to spend today indoors.”I stood up and went outside. The smell of flowers from the beautifully kept garden filled the air. I looked at Paul’s window. The curtain was drawn as usual, but but I wondered if he was looking out at me. I smiled

Paul was on front of her door, holding a bowl of fruit. “James said you didn’t eat dinner are you okay?” He asked. Ivy nodded, too surprised to say anything. She stood aside to let him in. “Are you sure?” He asked, looking at her red eyes. “I’m fine. I’m just tired.” She muttered. “That doesn’t mean you should skip your meal.” She laughed a little. “Look who is talking.” She said. He smiled. “Touché. Okay I promise, no more skipping meals.” “I’ll hold you to your promise.” “I brought you fruit. Would you like to eat that?” “If you share it with me.” They sat together on her bed. “I heard you were made CEO today, congratulations.” He said. “Thanks, you will now be CEO of your company too right?” “Yes,” he said quietly. “But it won’t be for long.” “Because of your illness? Can’t the doctors do something about it?” She asked. “I don’t want to talk about it.” He said. “You can’t just give up.” Ivy said softly. His face hardened. “I said I don’t w

Ivy's Pov Ivy Sullivan's Fashion house was called Luxury, and her staff were standing around smiling nervously as I entered. I was even more nervous. A young woman stepped forward. From her name tag I saw her name was Lynn. “Congratulations on your wedding Ms. Sinclair. The designs are ready. I know they’ll be just what you wanted.” She said. My legs were wobbling as I followed her to the show room. It was huge and stocked with designer clothes, shoes, and bags. They led me to a section of blouses. “These are the designs we settled on,” Lynn said, holding up two blouses, “silk and satin.” “They are lovely,” I mumbled. “Which do you want us to choose as our summer design?” She asked. “The silk.” I said pointing to one of the blouses. Lynn blinked. “That’s satin ma’am.” “Of course.” I said embarrassed. “The handbag design hasn’t been chosen yet, but I’ve made a list of ideas for you to chose from. Let’s go to your office so I can show you.” Lynn said. We took th

Paul as usual was in his room when Victor came in. “Hey bro, how are you doing this afternoon?” He asked. “None of your business.” He snapped. “Ivy isn’t here?” He asked surprised. “No. Isn’t she in her room?” “No. The maid went to knock for her she isn’t there. And she didn’t come to breakfast. I wonder where she could be?” “Maybe she went shopping?” “You know Ivy dosen’t shop that early. Maybe she went to see a guy.” Victor grinned mischievously. “Stop talking nonsense.” “It makes sense. Look at this.” He stuck his phone in his face and showed him the pictures taken at the wedding. “How did they get theses photos?” Paul asked wide-eyed. “Who knows. Social media is now calling you the ugly groom. Ivy must be so embarrassed.” “Shut up.” He growled. “Don’t be mad at me scar face. Ivy probably went to see a better looking guy.” “I said shut up!” “What is going on?” James asked coming in. “He can’t take a joke, as usual.” Victor shrugged. “Victor your jo

Ivy's Pov My phone woke me up the next morning. “Hello?” I answered sleepily. “Ivy, it’s me Tess.” I sat up. “Is something wrong with Grandma?” I asked anxiously, wondering why she had called and so early. “No, she is fine, but your wedding pictures are all over social media. People are talking about nothing else.” “What? That’s impossible. No reporters were allowed at the wedding, how did they get the pictures?” “Someone must have let them in, maybe they paid a servant. Trust me if the paparazzi want something, they get it. Don’t worry, you looked lovely, no one would tell you weren’t Ivy Sullivan. How was your wedding night? Anything interesting?” She asked mischievously. “Nothing. And I’m glad. This isn’t real after all.” “If you say so. I’ve got to get ready for work. I’ll be seeing your grandmother later.” “Give her my love.” I said. I hung up and opened social media. Tess was right. Every blog had the picture of me in my wedding dress, and me kissing Paul,
