Ava Today's episode of awkward car rides with Ava features Nikolai, my very sexy, very scary-looking husband who, with a single glance, has the ability to unravel me from the inside out. It's been five minutes since we left the house and my body still hums with delight at the memory of his lips pressing against the back of my neck like he only just did it. I'd been shocked, to say the least, when it happened, but immediately, I felt if the brush of his lips against my skin, any resolve I had evaporated into thin air. I steal a glance at him, admiring his sharp jawline and the way his shoulders flex beneath the fabric of his tux. He looks extremely good today and it took everything inside me not to maul him when I saw him standing outside my bedroom. "Are you okay?" I blink once then twice, trying to regain my composure while simultaneously hoping he hadn't noticed me ogling him. Nikolai decided to drive us to Tatiana's wedding. His hands grip the steering wheel with the kind of c
Nikolai I'm unable to pull my gaze away from my wife throughout the entire ceremony whereas she has no trouble avoiding my gaze. Even now, at the reception, she flits around the room like a vision, effortlessly charming everyone she encounters. Everyone loves her, even Tatiana's grandmother which is a rare occurrence. The old hag hardly takes a liking to anyone but she can't seem to not laugh at everything my wife says. To be honest I can't blame her. We're supposed to be doing the charming together but my wife drifted off my arm the moment we stepped into the chapel and hasn't spoken to me since. She's still angry about our conversation in the car, and to be honest, her little avoidance trick is getting old. I miss my wife, and yes, I'll admit, I shouldn't have listened to her that night. I knew it then, and I know it now, but I'd come out from my bedroom hoping to get a glass of water from the kitchen when I heard her. At first, I thought I'd imagined it, but then it happened a
Ava I'm so fucking stupid. Blood pounds in my ears as my encounter with Faina just moments ago replays over and over in my mind like an endless loop. Tonight I was determined to avoid my husband. Stay away. That was the plan. But apparently plans mean nothing when I let my emotions get in the way. Seeing him with Faina had awakened something inside me. It's one thing to know that they both shared something in the past but it's another to see them so close together. Jealousy claws at my chest, sharp and unrelenting like a knife, twisting until I can't breathe. I hate this. I hate that I care when I know I shouldn't. Throughout the ceremony, I pretended not to notice his heavy gaze watching me. It didn't matter how hard I tried to avoid him; I could always feel him watching me, and for some reason, knowing he wasn't too far away made my heart thump faster in my chest in a way that infuriated me. Images of the way Faina looked up at him flashed in my mind. They'd been so close; h
Ava “Fucking finally”, Nikolai growls roughly as he grips my face, angling me towards him. His lips slam against mine, hot and utterly consuming. It takes me a moment to recover from the initial force, but when I do, I turn putty in his arms. He pries my lips apart with his tongue then slides it against mine with one quick flick that sends a shiver down my spine. My hand goes to his waist, gripping the edge of his jacket as I tug him closer. My body moves completely on instinct, shutting down all thoughts and pressing myself against him. Nikolai groans low in his throat and a pang of need twists in my gut. His hand moves to the front, sliding between my breasts with deliberate intent until he finds my neck. His fingers wrap around my throat, squeezing firmly but not too hard to hurt A whimper crawls up my throat and my body shudders in response. Until Nikolai, I never thought that I'd be the kind of girl who enjoyed mild choking or any form of choking for that matter, but there's
Ava I insist on saying goodbye to Tatiana before we leave. As you would expect Nikolai isn't exactly thrilled at my need to be polite but I tell him that it's rude to leave without at least saying goodbye to the bride and groom Tatiana smiles when she sees us approaching, her expression a one of excitement and pleasant surprise. "Ava," She chortles, standing up from her seat beside her new husband and smoothing a hand down the front of her dress. Even after hours of festivities and celebrations, Tatiana still manages to look as beautiful as ever, rocking that radiant glow all brides seem to possess during their wedding. Except you're me of course. While Tatiana had spent the earlier hours of the evening floating effortlessly around the hall with her groom in hand, greeting close family and friends, I spent my time trying to recall the face of one single guest who attended my wedding. I couldn't. Tatiana was surrounded by people she loved on her big day, while I was surrounded by
Ava "Nikolai" I cry out, just as his phone buzzes in the back pocket of his pants. His lips seers a path of burning kisses into my skin, down my neck and my back nearly arches off the door when nips at my collarbone. One of my legs is slung over his hip and my dress is bunched over my waist as he grips the back of my thigh in one hand, his thumb rubbing slow circles against my skin. "Don't stop", I practically beg, tilting my head back against the door and allowing his lips to work my skin. We are both panting and his erection is pressing desperately against the inside of my thigh, seeking friction. Everything about the way he's touching me sets my entire body ablaze, and I'm mildly aware that his jacket is somewhere on the floor, right beside the little dignity I had when I stepped into his house. His hot breath fans my skin as his lips find the sensitive spot just below my ear, sending shivers down my spine. He rolls his pelvis against my clit, and a sigh of pleasure escapes m
NikolaiI extend a hand towards her, waiting for her to hand over the gun like I requested. She doesn't but I notice the way her grip falters around the handle.A long second passes between us and I wait for her to lower the gun. She does not.My stubborn wife remains rooted in the same position, her gaze frantic, confused as she searches my expression."Why do you have a gun?" She asks, and I arch a brow in her direction, considering her question for a moment. "Is that what you Americans call a trick question?"She frowns at me, clearly not finding my humour as faltering as I hoped she would. "I'm serious Nikolai." she says, her voice stern, "Tell me why you have a gun in your room?""You are aware of my profession, or do you want to add that to the list of things you don't know about me?"Her frown deepens. Clearly, she doesn't appreciate my response."When you are the head of one of the most powerful crime syndicates in the whole of America and Russia, you learn to never leave a s
Nikolai "I'm a virgin Nikolai" Her words linger in the air for a solid minute, neither one of us moving. She's a virgin? A fucking virgin. Sure, I suspected that she was inexperienced, but a virgin? My gaze roams over my wife's figure, taking in every delicate curve, from the swell of her breasts to the flare of her hips then over the curve of her ass. How is that even possible? "Say something" she urges, biting down on her bottom lip. Don't tell me, I study her expression, watching her press her lips into a thin line, is she nervous? The corner of my mouth curves slightly as I take in the worried expression etched into her features. Was she worried that I'd be turned off by this? Did she think that her lack of experience made her inferior? I want to tell her not to worry, but the words are lodged in my throat, and instead, I frame her face gently in my hands, stroking my thumb over the curve of her jaw as I press my forehead against hers. "No other man has touched you befor
NikolaiNo words. Absolutely, none can describe how perfect my wife looks above me.She looks just like a dream. Straight out of wonderland and the sight is one I commit to memory.Brown curls brush against her shoulder, framing a face that can bring any man to his knees. Desire burns brightly in her eyes and I grip her hips tighter because it is all I can do to keep from pushing her into the mattress and fucking her till I am all she can feel for days. The electricity between us is impossible to ignore. I want to feel her, taste her. To hell with the damn documentary. Who needs it when I have my perfect wife sitting in my lap begging to touch me?I sweep my thumb over her plump bottom lip and her tongue peeks out, brushing against the pad. A deep groan leaves me as I push it past her lips and she takes my thumb into her mouth in one simple drag, sucking it, and that's all it takes for my brain to short-circuit.My sanity is hanging by a thread, a thread almost as thin as the thong I
Ava"My exhibition is coming up in a few days" I tell Nikolai a few days later when we're cuddled up under the sheets watching ... well, I'm not exactly sure what we're watching. It was Nikolai's turn to pick a movie for movie night and he'd chosen a documentary about how wolves communicated in the wild. And so far, I wasn't the biggest fan.The narrator's voice reminded me of a bored substitute teacher trying to explain quantum physics to a room full of toddlers. Monotone, dry, and somehow both sleepy and aggressive at the same time.Nikolai, on the other hand, seemed totally and completely invested in every word he had to say, so I was willing to put up with it because, honestly, it was kind of cute seeing him so focused like this. I don't think I've seen him invested in a lot of things. He hums in response, fingers lazily stroking my spine. “Friday, right? The one your school’s hosting?”I nod, "Mhmmm. It's my final semester showcase and it's kind of a big deal. Everyone's going
AvaNikolai looks surprised by my presence when he sees me. I stay by the entrance of the library back room, unmoving, my hands limp at my side while I take in the scene before me.Ivan left me here with a simple tap on my shoulder after telling me not to be too surprised by what I see when I enter the backroom and to be patient with him no matter what he says because he is not going to want to see me."I think I can handle him", I'd said, to which Ivan simply shrugged and walked away.To be honest, I hadn't fully grasped what he meant by any of the things he said, but now, as I stare at the sight before me, I understand completely why he thought a warning was necessary before I stepped in. This place is as big as Nikolai's office, maybe bigger. The entire room is filled with boxes, and from the looks of things, I'd say that this place is some sort of storage unit. The air smells like aged scotch mixed with dust but not to the point that it's suffocating. An empty bottle lies a few f
AvaDuring the next couple of days, Nikolai and I somehow fall into a routine, finding a balance despite everything else.In the mornings, He gets up first while I pretend to be asleep (well, mostly pretend) until he comes out of the bathroom, freshly showered with water dripping from his hair everywhere. He'd get dressed for work while I relished the feeling of the morning sun on my face for only a second before I felt his presence and kiss on my cheek, followed by whispered words in Russian that I do not understand but know they mean well. When he leaves, it's my turn to get ready. I start by getting up from bed and heading over to the bathroom where I shower and brush my teeth, followed by the occasional humming of a tune or two. When I'm finished with my shower I get dressed in either my painting clothes or casual loose attire. My exhibit is coming up soon and I seem to be spending most of my time either in the studio at home or with Professor Bennett at school, setting up for
Hi everyone it has come to my attention that I have never really posted an updating schedule for this book. Now when I first started this book, I used to update everyday. That was because my schedule was more free back then as compared to now. I have a full time job and a part time job in addition to writing and I also attend classes most days during the week. I love writing and because this book has a special place in my heart since it is my first book chapters have been limited to 4 times a week. This will help me give you quality chapters and at the same time keep me from burning out. Of course there will be times where my week will be free and I'll be able to update five or even six times in a week. Thank you for understanding and I'm always available to answer any of your questions ❤️
AvaI don't know what I expect Nikolai's reaction to be after I drop that little piece of information. Anger perhaps. Maybe disappointment. Maybe even both.My hands are still looped around his neck. I'm still touching him, so I guess maybe that's a good sign that he doesn't feel either of the emotions I previously thought he might.Realising I'd spoken too soon, he reaches up and unloops my arms from around his neck, slowly sliding them down until they are by my side and the illusion of touching him is no longer within reach, replaced now by his strong hold around my wrists.“Nikolai…” I start to say. To apologise for not telling him but he stops the words from completely spilling from my lips with a simple squeeze of my wrists.“How long have you known?”It's impossible for me to guess what's going on in his mind at this point. His tone doesn't hold any malice or a trace of anger, just an irrefutable calm laced with a bit of surprise and curiosity.“A while,”He doesn't look convinc
NikolaiMy wife steps out of the shower as soon as I shut the door. She's wet but not in the way I'd like. Not in the way I've thought about for the last nine hours. Tiny droplets glisten her skin, drawing me to the way they fall to the floor despite the towel she currently has wrapped around her body like a fucking armour."Solnyshko..."She gasps before the name is fully out of my lips, spinning around. She sucks in a ragged breath when she sees me. Those big, beautiful brown eyes of hers are wide open, scanning me from head to toe like she can't believe I'm standing in front of her while her fingers clutch tightly to the edge of the plush fabric.“You're back," She breathes, surprised. It's only three o'clock, and considering I stated in my note that I'd be back later in the evening, I can guess why she hadn't expected me to be back so soon.Truth be told, I'm not supposed to be back so early but there's only so long a man can go without seeing his wife, and not want to put a bulle

Ava“So let me get this straight,” Kat says for the second time in the last fifteen minutes. We were currently sprawled out on the floor of the new nursery she and Ivan were still in the process of setting up, taking a break before we started arranging the things we got from the store. Two cups of caramel latte res between us, along with one blueberry muffin and a bag of chocolate chip cookies Kat swore she'd been craving since she woke up and would literally die if she didn't have.“You saw your father yesterday, did not tell Nikolai about it even though you knew that going to meet him alone was a stupid idea, but then Nikolai shows up, shoots your father, takes you home, and you both confess your undying love for one another and then you have mind-blowing sex.” Nodding, I take about of my muffin and let out an approving sound at the taste, “That seems about right." I say, "Except for the part where we confessed our undying love for each other.”"You should have. You care about him.
