Chapter 8

The sounds of the chirping bird from outside woke Sophia up, and she gently opened her eyes, her mind clouded with confusion.

She wondered what was happening, where she was, and who was with her. As her vision cleared, she saw Andrew sitting in front of her on his phone, his face calm and peaceful.

Sophia tried to sit up, but a sharp pain shot through her head, and she winced. "Ouch," she said, her hand instinctively going to her forehead.

"You're awake," he said, with relief in his voice as he got up from the bed and walked over to her. "How do you feel?"

Sophia looked at him, unsure of how to respond. She still wasn't sure where she was or what had happened to her, but she knew that Andrew was someone she could trust.

"I don't know," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "I feel sore, and I don't remember how I got here."

"Just calm down and relax. I'm sure you'll be fine."
