Chapter 20. Clarabelle's Suspicion

Clarabelle was feeling up and down. But she had to stay calm and looked strong in front of her father. She didn't want her father's health to improve instead of getting better if she got bad news.

Clarabelle stood, right beside Adriano and held his hand. "Jordan is on business, Pa. He'll be here when he's done. I didn't want to bother him. Please, just take a rest."

"Alright, darling. As long as you guys are okay, I've calmed down." Adriano's thin smile tugged at his lips. Then he closed his eyes. He needed a lot of rest. He had to fight to stay healthy, for Clarabelle's sake. His daughter had been trying to make Adriano's dream come true, she got married, and had a partner in her life. He had to do the same, too, because he wanted to be able to see his daughter longer, if possible until Clarabelle and Jordan had children.
