It was just yet another afternoon at home, filled with the soothing sounds of silence and the occasional chirps of birds outside, I sat at my balcony closing my eyes. I just finished the book that I bought recently and I honestly didn't know what to do since my new order isn't here yet.

My phone rang as I removed my sunshade to see who it is, seeing the caller I could already guess the reason why she called my phone, "Hello" I connected the call waiting for her ranting.

"Luna, Is this really it?! We planned this outing months ago so that you will mentally prepare yourself for it but why the hell did you say that you are not coming for the trip?!" Zara who ended up becoming my best friend yelled from the other end of the phone , honestly I don't know how that happened.

Not knowing what to say, I just let her rant. After about five whole minutes she was finally done, "I'm sorry babe. I promise to make it to the next trip. I contributed so just enjoy my share with the girls. I love you and I know you love me too" I hung up the phone immediately so she wouldn't have any other thing to say to me.

One thing is certain, she is definitely pissed at me but I know it won't be long before she calms down. And is not like is my fault that I hate going out

The most important thing now is why is my order not here? I looked at my time again, wondering why the books that I ordered aren't here yet, "They definitely promised me that I would receive it today. I hope I've not been scammed" Just as I was deep in thought again, my phone notification rang.

Looking at the screen, it was written clearly, 'Your order is here' The wave of excitement that ran through me made me jump up and rushed out going downstairs.

Getting to the living room, I saw my parents and brother sitting there at the living room with long and tired faces but I was super excited to even be bothered by what is going on with them.

I opened the door and got my box that has been delivered, without asking for their help I skillfully carried it and closed the door behind me, but then just as I was about to walk past my parents, "Luna" My mom, Mrs Ashley Luminari called me back.

I paused and looked back at her wondering if she has a problem with what I ordered, "Yes, Is something wrong? And why the long faces?" I asked her and then turned to my brother blinking at him so he would give me a clue of what is happening.

"Did you place another order for books online?" Dad asked me as I nodded cluelessly. Honestly right now, I have a bad feeling but I just hope it is not what I'm thinking.

"Cancel the orders!" Dad dropped the bombshell and it was definitely what I thought he would say.

I instantly dropped the box I held, confused by his words because honestly I don't understand what is going on, "Why are you suddenly telling me to cancel it? You've never cared about what I bought before"

"Can you please listen to your father for once?"

"What do you mean? I've always listened to Dad, except for when he asks me to go for social gatherings. I've never even done anything to make him angry."

"Luna! Just stop it ok!" Jeremy, My Eldest Brother shook his head at me. His eyes were serious and I could see that he has not slept in days.

"Fine! What is going on?" I looked at Dad and asked him, but I could only hear his sigh and then mom started weeping from the corner. That alone scared me, "Is someone terminally ill?" I looked at their faces waiting for someone to answer me.

"We are Bankrupt!"

"Well, As long as no one is terminally ill then is ok.... Wait!" I turned to Dad to be sure I just heard what he said correctly, "What did you say?"

"Your uncle introduced your father to an investment and after your father put everything in, the investment failed. Now we've lost everything and we have a lot of debts" Mom explained while cleaning her tears.

I looked at Mom blankly because I didn't know what kind of expression I'm supposed to make right now, "Is Uncle Bartholomew that introduced you to that business right?"

Clearly we are wealthy and have a lot of money, but for Dad to become bankrupt that only means that he put in a lot of money into whatever that shit is

I looked at Dad who refused looking at me, and the answer was obvious, "I clearly told you! That man hates you, every single time he has a cool investment and now you've finally fallen into it!"

"Luna, Don't talk to your Dad that way!" Mom glared at me and reprimanded.

"We might end up selling the house, The company is up for sell. And we need urgent cash! If we don't get any help or sponsorship, We might be chased by debt collectors" Brother analyzed the whole thing.

"What about Uncle Bartholomew, what is he saying about the whole thing?" I asked them.

"He kept on apologizing, I don't think is his fault as well." Dad was still the soft hearted man I know, and that's clearly why we are in this mess.

"Clearly is his fault! If not will Luna's fiancee suddenly break off their engagement just to marry Uncle Bartholomew's Daughter!" Brother yelled at father, while I felt my ears were ringing.

"Jeremy stop it" Mom muttered but I couldn't get what he just said out of my head,

"What did you say? Michael broke off the engagement? For what reason?! And why does everyone know about this and I don't?!" I looked at them in with furrowed brows, not sure if I heard him correctly

"I'm sorry that we kept it from you. We were just trying to stop so many things from happening." Mom wiped her tears but I really don't care about her tears right now

I sprang to my feet, and picked up the car keys that lay that table, "Luna where are you going?"

"You guys should solve your problems! I will solve mine!" I left the word and hurried out of the house. At least I wanted to know the reason for his actions.

Why would he suddenly break up with me without even letting me know about it, And out of everyone that is there for him to date, he choose that stupid girl.

I didn't want to believe it, I clearly grew up with him and now he dares to to break off the engagement?!

I drove all the way to his estate, I greeted the security man and made my way in even when I saw his reluctance in letting me go in.

I made my way into the villa because I've been here countless, "Michael?" I called out his name and entered his living room and it was indeed a sight to behold.
