Chapter Forty-five

Marley had gotten a ten minutes acquaintance with the twins since Kate—as she preferred he called her—let him wait for Zaphrina inside. The young lady's calm demeanor gave him a sense of peace. She permitted herself to round up with what she was doing in the kitchen before joining him. Meanwhile,

"So...are you dating my sister?" Lorna inquired as she scrutinized his seated and wandering physique.

The home was quite cozy but a little too tiny. The sitting room was dotted with only necessary furniture to conserve some space. Truth be heard, he hadn't known people actually resided in homes as such. At least he learned something from them: that people who struggled to make ends meets and lived simply were the happiest in the society. Unlike him who had everything but still didn't feel that sense of serenity.

"Uh...yeah. I guess," he retorted, not exactly knowing what to say with respect to the current terms he and Zaphrina were in.

"What do you mean 'I guess'?" Lorna pushed.
