INICIAR SESIÓN(Nikolai's POV)
The sharp slam of the study door echoed through the penthouse.
Tristan strode across the room, his footsteps heavy against the floor. His jaw was clenched, and the file in his hand bent beneath the pressure of his grip.
He stopped beside the desk and dragged a hand through his hair. I was jolted from where I was standing, he hadn't set his eyes on me.
“Unbelievable.”
His voice was low, but the anger beneath it was unmistakable. He paced once, then stopped abruptly, staring at the phone on his desk as though it had personally offended him.
Another frustrated breath escaped him. His noise had reached me from the bedroom, I stirred beneath my blanket, I frowned at the disturbance.
I was about turning to leave when I heard a second sharp sound, Tristan slammed his drawer shut making my heart race.
What could make him this angry in the morning?
For a moment, I stood still, blinking into space and waiting for his next move. As I predicted, I heard Tristan's furious voice, it startled me and I walked into his study to figure out what on earth was happening with him.
“I don't want to see you this morning, don't add to my anger, Nikolai,” I refused to listen to him. I shut the door behind me.
“You made me leave the room without a bra on, you scared the shit out of me!!”
“What's your problem? Are you the only human being in this house? Can't you take your frustrations elsewhere?” I blurted out. My breathing is coming out heavily.
“Can't you pretend to be a good wife with all the ears everywhere?”
“Oh! Please! I can't tame the dragon in you, I wonder how my brother kept you as a friend but here you are being his best friend… I'm sleeping, don't disturb me, rubbish.”
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, arranged my pajamas and put on a practiced smile before reaching for the door knob.
I opened the door and stepped out just to find Mrs. Joyce and Grace eavesdropping and shunned them. I warned them to leave him and went back to bed.
My phone had been buzzing when I came inside the room and went to it. Seeing my mum's calls without picking up made my heart twitch.
I dialed Rose's contact once again and was again directed to voicemail. I lounged on the bed and called her again and was met with the same fate.
A message from Nicholas came in and I opened it to see his usual cursing.
*Mum has been worried about you, man. Come home or I will be forced to make Tristan use his connection to force you back*
I let out a bitter laugh, Tristan won't even worry about it and wave it off. I sent them a message each not to look for me that I'll return when it's time to return.
I went to my box and brought out my work file and went through it. I was supposed to resume and earn my keep and continue working in my father's company. I brushed my fingers against them in disappointment.
My hunger had ceased earlier, so I went to the mirror and dolled myself up. I started searching for what to do to keep myself busy and settled for an online solitaire game.
“He's winning,” I groaned and laid on my stomach to continue.
“First, I was a contract paralegal and now? I'm a housewife, thanks to my sister,”
“Got yaaaaa!!”
I won the round and started afresh with another player and won. I kept playing until someone played against me and took the trophy and I exited the game.
“I'm so bored right now and I'm not hungry… I can settle for snacks.” I left the bed and marched downstairs unburdened.
I requested snacks and sent the orders to Tristan's rider and went to the dining, I drummed my fingertips lightly on the table. Grace came and sat opposite my direction and I raked over.
“Has he gone to work?”
“”Yes, Mrs. Sinclair,”
“Don't call me that!” scolded and she helped and clutched her chest.
“What should I call you?”
“Oh! God!” I slapped my forehead.
“Rose, my name is Rose,”
“Okay, Mrs. Rose but Mr. Sinclair is going to yell at me, with your husband being fierce, I can't just call you Rose.” she smiled softly and lowered her head.
I hissed and bent my head on the table to enjoy the cozy dining. Iris announced my order was on the day and Grace left to get them.
I requested a plate and emptied the snacks into it and started munching loudly. I walked around the penthouse. Every munch settled like a pin dropping in a stretched silence.
The floral tang of scent pinched my nose as soon as I stepped into the golden living room.
“Iris, turn on the television,”
“I'll do that for your Mrs. Sinclair,”
“Mrs. Sinclair, my foot.” I dropped the plate and arranged my bra and took the remote.
I kept moving from one channel to another for something spicy. I bit my finger and searched again. The next channel displayed trending news and I dropped the remote to focus.
Tristan appeared on it when his name was mentioned as Jonas defender. It was an inaudible video, the security covered Jonas' face and led him into the court before Tristan followed suit.
“The court hearing will be live, stay tuned in this channel,” the newscaster announced.
“Interesting show to spice my morning up.” I told Iris to cover the living room in total darkness.
The hearing started from the ushering of the judge in the courtroom, I eased into the sofa and held my snacks tight.
“Why am I trembling?”
“Prosecutor?”
The judge called Tristan and he came out of his seat and stood in the middle of the room and pecked into the file in his hand. He absorbed his surroundings and looked at the defendant.
He stood composed, his movement practiced. He was ready to win the case.
(Nikolai's POV)Before Tristan spoke, the court clerk called the case, announcing the names of the parties involved. The lawyers stood, introduced themselves and confirmed their appearance.“Lawyer Tristan?” He turned to the judge.“Are you sure you want to defend Mr. Jonas?”“Yes, my lord.”The judge glanced through the documents before addressing the matter. The plaintiff's lawyer rose first, explaining the complaint and presenting the evidence supporting their case. “Mrs. Laura here claims she saw Mr. Steven Blake here leaving the hotel room her her husband, Mr. Jonas,”“She claims also that they've had disputes concerning a business transaction and Mr. Steven threatened to kill his friend, Jonas,”“Objection my lord,” Tristan raised his voice.“Objection overruled, prosecutor Harris, please, continue,”“Thank you my lord.”Everyone became quiet apart from Harris, I picked my snacks one piece and squinted my eyes to see the expression on Tristan's face when his objection was overr

(Nikolai's POV)Tristan threw the blanket back on the bed and I covered myself up and pretended to still be asleep. He could no longer stomach it, as soon as he left, I got up and locked the room and went to relieve myself.I went to the closet and took out a blue bra and flinged it.“What are all these doing here?” I asked myself, the box was filled up with colorful bras.“Am I… omg!!”“More than fifty?” I shouted after counting up to fifty and took out one of the brown bras and wore it, arranged myself and went to get breakfast.I sat down and Mrs. Joyce came to me, smiling like something was amusing her. She placed the menu Tristan had laid out for me to follow in front of me, still smiling.“Mrs. Joyce, why is he still at home, isn't he going for work?” I called her close and whispered to her ear.“He took permission, he said he wants to stay with his lovely wife,” She muttered to my ear and blushed but that sounds irritating to my ears.Grace passed with a cup of coffee and cooki
(Tristan's POV)“Fuck,” Nikolai groaned and shrugged me off his back and I rolled off.“Prevert,” he called me and opened the door.“I'll get you more bra and silicone breast my wifey,”“You disgust me, Tristan.” He slammed the door shut, I heard his heavy footsteps until they receded and I got up from the floor and sat down.I closed my eyes and took a deep breath and decided to go to find out what Nikolai was up to. I opened the door of my room and saw a mess.“What are all these things, Niko?” I stepped inside.“We are married, right?”“That doesn't give you the right to invade every part of my life you little man,” His eyes widened.“Li… li… little what?” He stood up and went to the closet to drop his clothes and I stopped him. I shaked my head and he shaked his head too.“Who is this guy?” He walked past me and I paced across the room, dragging a hand through my hair.He came out singing a song just to get on my nerves and I held his hand to drag him back. We heard tiptoe at the
(Tristan's POV)I was sleeping when Nikolai moved closer to me. I woke up and found him curled against me, his head on my chest and his hand wrapped around my waist.I looked down at him and watched for a moment instead of immediately pushing him away.“So warm,” Nikolai mumbled.Suddenly, he woke up and realized exactly where he was, his cheek pressed against my chest and his arm wrapped around my waist and I was already awake, staring down at him.“Good morning, wife, comfortable?”He moved with the speed of light and stood up and pointed at me with his funny frowned face.“Don't bite your lips,” I teased him.“You moved first, Tristan,”“Says the guy with his head on my chest and his hand wrapped around my waist…. don't be ridiculous.” I laughed and left the room for him in the dining room.Grace served my morning tea and left, I sipped with ease, it's steam moving to my face when I raise the cup. My phone ran and I quickly checked the caller.“Hello, prosecutor Harris, what is it
(Nikolai's POV)He placed me gently on the car seat and closed the door, he got in from the other door and started the car.Everyone stood outside cheering for us to drive home safely. My phone kept blasting with Nicholas’call.“He's not saying anything, is he not going to expose me yet?” I asked myself. He started the wheel and we drove off, he placed his hand on my thigh and I slapped it off, my face straight on the road, I just want to be finally free from him.“Your brother said you're missing at my wedding, are you?”“Why haven't you said anything or exposed me?”“This marriage is tied to an important business merger. If the marriage is terminated now, the deal will collapse and our both families will suffer financially and you especially don't want that,”“He's strangely right,” I told myself.I didn't want to look at him, I faced my phone then through my glass and back to my phone. We got to his penthouse, the tight security opened up after he gave them his card. He drove in an
