Rosalia

We drove for almost two hours until we finally entered a community which I had no idea existed in the city. I could see a silver gate from afar and it was opened before our car even got there. We drove through the gate and the car stopped shortly. I stepped out of the car and watched as several other men in black surrounded us. I secretly wonder if they were training reinforcement for the country or something.

Damien glanced at me. I still remember the way he had said his name like he was hurt I forgot his name at all. But I didn't even know him which caused the dilemma I'm currently in. Did I actually know him or was he taking me for someone else. The latter seems to be the answer.

"Come on, let's go inside" I nodded obediently and followed him as he walked through the stone paved pathway while the guards all stayed behind. The pathway was quite long but it was beautiful so I had a great time looking around. I hadn't even realised he had stopped until I bumped into his back.

"I'm sorry" He only nodded and opened the door. I could hear hurried footsteps then an excited childish voice followed.

"Daddy, did you find Mommy? Did she finish her Vacation yet?" I could see Damien bent to pick up the child and I peered from behind him to get a glimpse of her. At the same time, the girl seemed to have the same thought and our eyes met. Same bright blue ones which knocked the air out of my lungs. Why the hell does this child look like a copy of me???????????

She stared at me for a long time then slowly recognition crossed her face as she threw her hands up like she wanted me to lift her from her Father's embrace. I couldn't move though, I just stared at her and wondered why she looked so much like I could have birthed her.

"Daddy" She turned to Damien when I didn't move to carry her "Mommy doesn't want Maria" She said it without sadness though. Like she had learnt to live with it, which wasn't a good thing. She didn't look like she was five yet but she sounded too mature for her age.

Damien gave her a gentle smile "Of course not, Mommy is just tired from the Vacation and needs to rest, you can see her tomorrow"

She tilted her head "But what if she goes on another Vacation tomorrow and I can't see her when I wake up?" I wondered what had happened before to make her assume her Mommy was going to disappear. Damien had been like that too. I was too confused and overwhelmed to think straight. I could only watch both of them in silence.

Damien turned to me then frowned before looking back at the little girl "She won't, I'll make sure of it" He tossed her hair which made her giggle.

"Now be a good girl and go to sleep so you can see Mommy tomorrow when you wake up" The girl excitedly nodded then glanced at me briefly with a toothy grin before running off to probably her room.

Damien turned to me "You don't even remember her? Your condition is worse than I thought" He sighed and started heading in the same direction the girl had gone. I couldn't help but go after him. I had lots of questions to ask but I swallowed it and decided to leave it for tomorrow. Everyone was tired already.

"So, uhmm...." I cleared my throat. He stopped on his tracks and glanced at me.

"Hmm?"

"Where am I going to sleep?" I really need to sleep soon or my head will burst from all the overwhelming thoughts in it.

"You should have dinner first, you haven't had anything all day except the stupid sandwich you had in the morning" I should ask him how he knew that but I remembered they had been stalking me all day.

Instead, I asked "Since when have you been tailing me?"

Damien moved closer and grabbed my hand then started pulling me to where I recognised as the kitchen. He sat me down on the stool and went to the cooking area. My eyes widened when I realised he was going to make me dinner. No one had ever done that for me.

"We found you about a year ago and since then I've had my men follow you everywhere. You lack self awareness but it's not a problem since my Men were always there to remove the pests" He replied as he tore open a packet of spaghetti and threw it in the pot which contains hot water.

"A whole year? If I was in that much danger and I was really your wife, how come you didn't come get me?" He stopped and sent me a glare before replying. "You are my wife"

"Okay, since I'm your wife, why didn't you come get me?" If I had a rich husband all along, why do I need to suffer in the past two years for nothing? I had been looking for jobs and worrying about paying my rent for absolutely nothing!

"I couldn't figure out if you being out there was safer for you or being here. I might still be thinking about it if not for Maria. She needed you" He didn't look at me when he gave the reply and I was left trying to understand what he meant. We were silent after that and the only sound that could be heard was him moving around in the kitchen, making dinner.

So, a strange man who I'm almost at the edge of believing was my husband was making dinner for me and a little girl who looks like my copy was somewhere upstairs in her room, sleeping. Indeed, it seemed I belonged to this family but at the same time, how come? How come I don't remember them at all?

A plate suddenly came into my view and I could smell the delicious aroma even before the meal came into view.

"Here, have your dinner and go to sleep. We'll talk tomorrow when you are well rested." Damien says as he took the seat opposite me and started digging into his meal. I did the same.

With the first taste of the spaghetti, a strange sense of familiarity hit me. I could tell I've had this before. I lifted my head to ask Damien about it and realised he was already looking at me.

But before I could say anything, he spoke. "Eat your food quietly and go to sleep" Then continued eating. I couldn't help but do as he said since he wasn't willing to talk. I followed him to the sink to drop the dishes which he started washing while I could only watch him.

I couldn't believe this man who seemed dangerous in one minute and domestic in the next was actually my husband. Where did I pull him from?

Rosalia I carefully observed the stairs as I headed for the living room. It was unexpectedly made from White oak, I had thought it was iron when I passed by it last night. Well furnished, expensive as shit. I couldn't have afforded it my whole life even if I tried. I really don't understand how a poor woman like me who had been almost at the verge of being a beggar managed to snag a rich man. If later I'm found out to be his wife, I'm lucky but if it was a misunderstanding all along and I only looked like her, that would be very terrible. Very very terrible in fact, because at this point, I'll just go straight from here to living on the streets. I could hear Maria's voice from where I am, she seems to be discussing something with her Dad. I finally climbed down the stairs and headed for where they were sitting by the exquisite couch. Maria was telling something to her Father excitedly while he was on his cellphone but I could tell he was paying attention to what she was saying bec

Rosalia Uhn??? I stared blankly at the tall man in front of me. What was he talking about? Is he drunk? He must be if he's spewing such nonsense with conviction. "My husband? Are you taking me for another person?" Because it had to be that or he was plain crazy. How could I have a husband I don't know about. Before I could continue speaking. The door opened and another man in black stepped in , dragging in someone who looked half dead. Panic immediately engulfed my heart. Were they planning on killing someone and framing me for it? I glanced at the man in front of me with horror and he was still looking at me but now with amusement. He seems to be enjoying my discomfort which made me frown. "What are you trying to do?" I inquired but no one answered me. "Boss, it is done" The man holding the half dead man said to the one behind me. "Raise his head so she can see" The man immediately jerked the half dead man's head upwards and I stifled my scream. It was Howard fucking Walter.
