Chapter Five

Whites Mansion

"I have some news for you Lora." Samuel White, Lora's father cleared his throat slightly and said as they had breakfast

"What news?" Lora asked blankly

"The Brown family has offered to take you in as their daughter in law. They wish to get this done by the end of the week" Samuel replied calmly

Lora's eyes opened with shock upon hearing what her father just said. She glanced worriedly at her mother gesturing her to say something but she remained quite

"Who am I getting married to? Collins or Jeffery?" Lora asked tremblingly. She just prayed her father wasn't going to mention Collin's name. But looked like her fate wasn't so good

Samuel raised up his eye to stare at her and sighed out helplessly "Collins. He's the one you're getting married to"

"Huh?... But dad you know very well Collins used to be Lucy's boyfriend. How can I marry Lucy's ex?" Lora roared angrily

Lucy and Collins planned on getting married after Lucy completed college. But they forced her into the Green family instead

The Brown family is also very rich just like the Green family. But they aren't hailed as much as the Green family is

When Lora and her mother saw that Lucy was about to get married into such rich family and also to the love of her life, they decided to push her into the Green family instead. All they've ever wanted is to see Lucy shed tears over and over again

A day before Lora's wedding, she left the house and left a letter for her father to give Lucy to the Green family instead of her because she wasn't interested. All these were planned by her mom, and for some reasons she started having regrets after Lucy was gone

The Greens are very rich and popular, and she's been having a serious crush on Alex since they were in college. Maybe she shouldn't have listened to her mom and ran away from this marriage

Now she has to get married to Lucy's ex. Which is a very big disaster for her

How will Lucy think of her? How much more dignity will she have left

Samuel knew Lora wasn't so happy with the decision he made, but he had no other option either. The Brown family is just as powerful as the Green family. And they can destroy him with just a snap of a finger if he gets them offended

If it wasn't for the fact that Lora had ran away on her wedding day, then Lucy would have been the one getting married into the Brown family and not her

But since she decided to force Lucy into what belonged to her, she'll now have to pay for the consequences

"You have just three days to the wedding. Prepare for it and don't create any fuss" Samuel got up and left after saying this to Lora. This is her second upcoming wedding. If she ran away like the last time, then she'll have no one to blame

"The Brown family is also very rich Lora. You just have to forget about the fact that Lucy is Collins's ex-girlfriend. Now she's married, and she has nothing to do with him anymore. Think about it, you're going to be very rich and respected in this city. The Brown family isn't any ordinary family and...."

Lora threw her mother with disgust looks and walked away angrily without letting her complete her sentence. She hated her so much this time. Because if it wasn't for her stupid plans, then she would have gotten married to Alex and have a comfortable life

Collins is a good-looking guy, and very rich also. But not hyped so much like Alex

All Lora has ever wanted in this life was to get married to a billionaire. Someone who would spoil her with money and make her very popular. And that's why she tried all her possible best to crawl into Alex's bed while they were still in college

Even though she succeeded once, all her efforts have been in vain because of her mother. And now Lucy is the one with him

The drive from the Greens Mansion to the company wasn't so long. Within some few minutes time, they had reached

Aaron led Lucy inside and took her around. They chatted and laughed occasionally. And this made Lucy feel very comfortable around Aaron

They explored every corner of the company with the exception of Alex's office. When Lucy asked, Aaron explained to her Alex is having a meeting in his office so maybe another time

Aaron took Lucy to the cafeteria for coffee. As they were still chatting, a guy walked over to them and whispered something in Aaron's ear

Aaron looked up at Lucy with apologetic eyes and said softly "I'll be back in a minute. Please stay here and wait for me"

"Alright" Lucy smiled slyly and nodded her head gently

She sipped in coffee and waited patiently for Aaron. But along the way, she started feeling a bit uneasy and decided to use the washroom. She asked one of the workers and she was directed to the nearby one

She walked carefully to where she was directed but got stuck in between two doors. She tried very hard to remember whether it was the door on her right or that on her left but to no avail. After pondering for a while, she decided to use the door on her right. Each time she gets torn in between left and right, she goes for the right. And that's the same thing she's doing with this

Lucy opened the door gently and walked in. After closing it, she turned to free herself only to see a huge number of people seated in front of her. They all stared at her with surprise drawn all over their faces.

Lucy's face became pale that instant. She had entered the wrong place. But the fierce glare from the people made her confused on what to do

She didn't know Alex was also there. When she finally spotted him staring at her with a frown, she immediately smiled apologetically and said "sorry everyone. I... I thought this was the washroom."

"Who are you?" one man in black suit asked sternly

Lucy didn't know the exact answer to give him. She wanted to tell them she's Alex's wife but looking at the fierce glare Alex was giving her, she hesitated

She didn't want to make her husband upset. And she couldn't ignore the man's question either

After pondering for a while, she replied calmly "I'm Alex's wife"

Lucy's answer got everybody exchanging looks with shock. Alex never informed them he was married. And the fact that Lucy had the guts to barge in there carelessly made them have divided thoughts. There's no way Alex could have gotten married to such a careless girl

Alex clenched his jaws and fist tightly as he stared at Lucy. He slowly got up from his seat, stepped closer to her and dragged her outside in a flash
