Chapter 22

I walked out of the courtroom, my eyes watery, I couldn't believe I was crying over what she had said. But, it did hurt me, a lot. I wiped my tears away. Stop it. My subconsciousness scolded.

"Wait up," Jake called. I wanted to stop and wait but my brain wasn't obeying my mind. I got out of the courthouse but he got to me before I could walk any further.

"Are you okay?" He asked. He is so patient, I expected him to be mad or something but as usual, he didn't show any sign of being mad. I smiled. "Yeah, I'm okay," I replied.

"You're sure? You don't look okay, is it because of her? She got what s-" I cut him off. It wasn't because she got imprisoned or something, just because of how she fooled me all this while. I was such a fool.

"Yeah. Can you take me home? I'm so tired..." I said. He nodded with a smile.

After the judge had given both Yvonne and Cris three years in prison. A part of me was happy, and a part of me was sad. Curse that part.
