"Sign it!"

"I said I won't sign the divorce papers until he is here."

Wendy looked angered but she didn't say anything. After all, soon the troublemaker was going to leave.

"Oh, here's my son. Now sign it!"

Avery looked at Liam. He sat opposite of her on the sofa, followed by Jennifer on his left. Jennifer's hands were wrapped around his arms like a leech and Liam was also seated on the couch comfortably.

"Let me tell you, though you guys are getting divorced. You won't get even a single penny from my son nor any matrimonial alimony." Wendy asserted.

"Ok."

"You can never claim yourself as one of the Lincoln's again. So do not think after getting a divorce from him, you will still get to live here. The moment you…"

Avery, not waiting for Wendy to finish, grabbed the pen. Her eyes never left Liam's as she signed her name on the papers. Liam for a minute looked disappointed, his facial expression changed but then it was not. Avery almost believed she saw him sad.

Signing it, she stood up, she did not even for a second wanted to stay in that place. Her blood was boiling on fire, her heart was aching. Liam Lincoln, whom she loved the most, betrayed her at the end. She always got insulted just because of marrying him, she never got to live a peaceful life yet she couldn't care less.

As she turned to leave, Liam's voice came to be heard. While signing the divorce papers she once thought he would at the least stop her, ask for forgiveness but he never did.

Now what did he want? They already got divorced. But somewhere in her heart she thought he would tell her he regretted cheating on her.

As Avery turned around, what she got astonished her. Liam extended his hand towards her, "Here, take it. This card has 5 million dollars."

Avery with utter disbelief glared at him.

"For what?"

"You will need it." That's all came from his mouth.

She felt like laughing so hard. "Do I worth only that amount in your eyes?" Liam halted, he stepped back and looked down. Jennifer wrapped her hands around his arms and looked at Avery mockingly, "Liam wants to be kind since you have nothing now. Don't you think, sis. You should not be so egoistic."

'Egoistic?' Was that all she could call her after doing the walk of shame?

"Mr. Liam." Avery smiled at Liam and touched his shoulder. This was the first time she felt so bad. She smiled at him with sad eyes. After their wedding, she thought of giving him time when he told her that they would be married but stay as friends until things changed. By his words, she guessed he meant about having feelings for her.

"If you wanted to show me my worth, you should have offered me more but as you know… To find out about other's worth, you need to know yours first and… Looking at you now, I think you don't worth anything."

Liam's eyes locked with hers but then he looked at Jennifer and smiled. They held each other's hands like lovers.

Ridiculous!

Turning around she proceeded to leave when suddenly Wendy walked to her. She grabbed her hand and pulled her wristwatch from her hand.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Liam stepped forward, sounding enraged.

"She is no longer my daughter-in-law, how dare she take our things with her. You gave her this wristwatch, she should leave it here." Wendy pulled the wristwatch from her hand so hard that she felt pain but she stood still.

"Mom."

"Mom is right. She had been living a fairy tale life these years, now she should learn the reality." Jennifer proclaimed.

Hearing her, Avery didn't even hiss. After marrying him she left her job, she never thought this day would come or she would have saved some money for future use.

She walked away from Wendy and started taking off everything she could until Liam's voice came to be heard.

"Ava."

Avery was now wearing a very short black mini dress with her shoes off, it was super tight but comfortable. She smilingly put her earrings on the table and looked at Jennifer.

"You are right. I was living in dreams until now or why would I be so blind to choose a worthless man like him?"

"You! How dare you!" Seeing Wendy raise her hand at her, Avery quickly grabbed her hand. "I am no longer your useless son's wife so be aware."

"Ava, that's my mom!" Liam pushed her away and looked at her furiously.

"And I was a fool for you to play with, right? Mr Liam."

Saying so she for one last time glared at the three of them then she left the mansion. Her dream life ended, it was actually a nightmare.

An hour later

"One more, please." Sitting on the counter Avery said so to the bartender while passing the glass towards him.

"Ma'am, you look very drunk. Do you really want another drink?" The bartender looked worried now. It was her first time coming here with no one behind her, she was now drowned in sadness.

Avery nodding her head in agreement asserted, "I am not drunk yet. Another one, give me… another one."

The bartender sighed and Avery looked around. She had some money with her so she headed here just so she could get tipsy at some club. Since her marriage with Liam, she had always been faithful. She never even looked at other men no matter how handsome they were.

Getting another drink Avery was about to drink it when suddenly someone grabbed the glass from her hand.

"What the…" she said with annoyed eyes looking at the guy.

"Sorry, lady. I needed something to gulp in." The guy said so, taking a seat next to her. Apart from her black mini dress, she had her wavy curly hair left open on her back, her shoes on the floor and she had put on only lipstick with no make-up.

Looking at the guy she assumed he was probably around twenty, was quite handsome with shoulder length hair. He had his one ear pierced and his lower lips. Like those bad boys he looked.

Avery looked away. Turning around she waved her hand in the air, "It's ok. Nevermind."

With that she stood up. She grabbed her purse from the counter and pulled her shoes. There was a small house of hers at the back of Lincoln Residence so she could get the money and shoes from there. She was never fond of wearing high heels but today was an exception. Avery was not a heavy drinker, she never got drunk like this before. She always liked to maintain a good girl vibe.

Seeing her walking away the guy started following her. "Lady, did you come here alone?"

"What's that has got to do with you?" She ignored him and kept walking, trying to keep herself awake. The drink was getting her swayed, she was getting tipsy.

The guy held her hand, "Why don't you take my help? You seem alone, why don't I help you?"

Avery felt him putting his hand on her waist. She couldn't feel what his intentions were, whether bad or somewhat but they definitely were up to no good.

Feeling her head spinning around she grabbed the guy's hand as she felt he was trying to touch her a$$. She kept balance by touching the wall and putting a hand on his chest to make a gap between her and him.

"What's wrong? Sweetie?"

She nodded her head and answered, "I don't… I don't need your help. Thank you."

The guy was somewhat very interested in her. He didn't want to let her go, he had other plans. All the girls in the club were different but she.

He gently touched her hand and said sweetly, "But you see. You can't even walk properly. Why not accept my help then?"

"No… I said no…"

Avery wanted to push him away but her strength was limited. She felt the guy grabbing her in his arms. With a dizzy head, and drunken eyes she looked at the guy. His eyes were now checking her body, his eyes filled with lust and they were mainly fixed on her breasts.

"You see, I know some place. Let's have some fresh air there."

Avery nodded her head in a hurry then pushed the guy away. She was not interested in being laid off by some random guy after getting divorce from her cheating husband.

"Let go!"

The guy was dragging her towards somewhere, she couldn't see clearly. She felt her body giving up on her as she was very dizzy. Seeing a bottle of water near where she was standing Avery threw it on her face to wake herself. Nearly at a room she saw the guy giving some money to a bartender and talking to him.

She turned around to leave when she saw two guys at some distance from her.

"That's the girl. Catch her!" They were running towards her with weapons in their hands, she widened her eyes. On her both sides were dangers, where could she go to?

Looking around her eyes caught on the balcony. It was quite dark there and she needed a place to hide now. She was running while looking here and there, looking for a place to get her life secured when suddenly someone grabbed her hand and pulled her in somewhere.

"Who are you?"

"Shhh! Keep quiet, if you don't want to lose your life!" Her body was pressed against a tall figure in the dark. His voice sounded magical to her ears and his intoxicated cologne filled her nostrils, Avery put her hand on his chest subconsciously and it gave her a familiar feeling. She asked him in a drunken tone, "Do I know you?"
