Lola’s POV

I stood behind the cooking counter and mixed another little amount of Latentoxin into a freshly brewed coffee.

I knew Tyler was going to arrive soon. I mean, why wouldn’t he? He only went to work, and after work, he was supposed to update the next of kin—just like I demanded, right?

At 7 p.m., at most, he was supposed to be home. So, at 6 p.m., I had instantly brewed the coffee, anticipating his arrival like clockwork.

I opened the fridge and placed it in there, letting the coffee chill a bit more before Tyler would get back. A chilled drink was always easier to mask in taste.

There was something about coffee—it was naturally bitter due to certain chemical compounds created in the beans during roasting. That bitterness had a purpose now.

If Tyler were to drink this coffee already laced with Latentoxin, the added bitterness would make it far less drinkable. But that was the point. I didn’t want him to finish it all at once tonight; I wanted him to sip it over time through th

Lola’s POVI stood frozen at the doorway, heart pounding like a war drum as Logan smirked at me—as if his sudden appearance was all part of some twisted plan. Like this was something he had meant to do since the very moment he was sentenced to prison. The familiarity of his face felt like a haunting I wasn’t prepared for.“Is that how to welcome your boyfriend? The one you truly love?” he asked coldly, brushing past me like he belonged here, like nothing had changed. He stepped into the living room, bold and unbothered by the fact that anyone could see him. It was already 7 p.m., and Tyler would be home soon. I could barely breathe.“Logan, you have to leave. Now,” I said, my voice low but urgent. “Tyler will be home any minute and I can’t let him find you here. I’ll give you an address. I’ll come see you.”“But before I do that,” I added, “I need to know how you got out. How did you even find me in the first—”He ignored my plea, his voice rising with demand. “And you think I give

Eunice’ POV"Congratulations, you are two weeks pregnant!" Doctor Miranda beamed as she passed my test results across the desk.I couldn't contain my happiness. A wide smile spread across my face as I looked at Dr. Miranda, my heart swelling with joy."Thank you so much!" I said, my voice brimming with excitement. My husband, Tyler, and I had been trying for two years—two long years of disappointment and heartbreak. Just when I had begun to lose hope, I was finally pregnant. The realization sent a wave of relief through me.Eager to share the news, I headed straight to the mall to pick up fresh ingredients. I wanted to surprise Tyler over a well-prepared dinner—his favorite meal, paired with the best news of our lives.I carefully selected everything I needed: filet mignon, vibrant asparagus, golden Yukon potatoes, and a basket of ripe strawberries. A bottle of red wine caught my eye, but after a brief hesitation, I opted for sparkling grape juice instead. Tonight was special, and I w

Eunice’ POVI faked a smile at him, unwilling to let him know that I had detected a foreign perfume on him. My mind was still processing it, but there was no mistaking it. I was the one who always went to the mall to help Tyler choose a new cologne whenever he needed one. I knew the scent he always wore like the back of my hand. This wasn’t it. This scent on him now—it was definitely a woman’s. My heart clenched, sinking like a ship struck by torpedoes. The excitement I had carried moments ago, eager to share my news with Tyler, evaporated in an instant. We gently pulled away from the hug, and I collected his briefcase, helping him remove the long coat draped over his suit. This had always been my routine whenever he returned home. In the past, I would have done it with a bright smile, carrying his briefcase upstairs with lighthearted joy. But tonight, sadness weighed heavily on me. “Is that seared steak and roasted asparagus?!” he exclaimed, his excitement evident as he made hi

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter Three Meet With Lola

Eunice's POVI didn’t give Tyler the slightest thought that I was going to go to the company today. After all, it was our company, the one we both built from scratch. I also had the right to visit, didn’t I? After Tyler left for work, I walked downstairs and headed to Diana’s room, making sure I prepared her some breakfast and fed her before she’d take her medication.“I’m going to the grocery stall,” I told her..I slid into my car, drove out of the driveway, and headed straight to the company. The moment I arrived, I could feel that something had changed. The atmosphere at the company felt different.Six months ago, before I left to fully take care of Tyler’s mother, Sonya and Tasha were our receptionists. But now, I was seeing new faces—new faces Tyler never mentioned to me.Since they didn’t know me, I decided to act as if I were just a regular customer. I knew the CEO’s office was always upstairs, and Tyler would be coming downstairs soon. This was the usual practice—employees w

Eunice’s POVHearing this, a knot grew in my stomach. My fingers twitched, itching to raise my hand and slap her, the sound of it cracking through the air like a whip. But I only clenched my fist instead. A young bitch who knew nothing but how to snatch people’s husbands would not make me become someone I was not. I refused to stoop to her level.Taking a deep breath, I turned on my heel, ready to return home immediately. Tyler would come back home to meet me. To explain this nonsense I had just witnessed. But then, a second thought hit me. If I walked out of the salon just like that, this husband snatcher would think she had won. She would smirk, reveling in her false victory, and I could already picture her issuing a direct threat to the employees, forbidding them from ever letting me step foot in this building again.I couldn’t risk that. I had to assert my dominance as the real madam of this beautiful company.“Get out of my way,” I said, my voice sharp and commanding. With a swif

Eunice’s POVTyler reached for my hand the second time as we walked upstairs, but I didn’t hold on too tightly. The weight of our argument still lingered in my chest. I had told him I would believe his words when I saw action, and nothing had changed. We lay in bed together, but my mind kept replaying the moment I saw Lola smirking at me. Even when Tyler wrapped his arms around me, whispering soft reassurances, I couldn’t shake the doubt gnawing at my thoughts.Morning came quickly, the golden hues of the rising sun spilling into our room. I stretched beneath the sheets, glancing at Tyler, who was still asleep beside me. For a brief moment, I allowed myself to hope that today would be different—that I would wake up to proof of his loyalty, not just empty promises.I slid out of bed, pushing aside the warmth of his embrace. There were things I needed to take care of today—things that didn’t involve waiting around for Tyler to prove himself.I made my way to the kitchen, determined to

Eunice' POVEverything Tyler told me was a lie. Every damn thing! The scent that lingered on him, the way he called Lola names, the insistence that they weren’t together—it was all a lie.If not, how was Lola pregnant for him?!My heart pounded as I turned to Tyler, my voice rising. “What is she talking about, Tyler?!” I needed an answer, and I needed it now.Lola scoffed darkly, crossing her arms. “I’ll tell you exactly what’s happening.” Her gaze locked onto mine, irritation flickering in her eyes.“Tyler—your husband—impregnated me,” she announced smugly. “Since you couldn’t even give him a baby, I did. And now, he’s going to be a father, and I’m going to be a mother.”The words hit me like a slap. My breath hitched as I turned to Tyler, searching his face for denial, for any sign that this wasn’t true. “Tell me this isn’t true, Tyler! Tell me she’s lying!”But he didn’t.Instead, he stared at the floor, dumbfounded, as if the words he needed had abandoned him.I let out a bitter c

Eunice’s POV“There is another thing I need to tell you, dear,” my mother, Josie Morgan, sounded again after telling me she needed me to follow her back home so that I could take my rightful place as the heir of her company.I furrowed my brow at what she wanted to tell me because there was a way in the manner in which she told me this. First, she clutched my left with her left since she was already holding my right hand with her hand. She pressed it hard like she was trying to comfort me before she told me something very importantly sad.“What is it, Mum?!” I raised my voice as my heart began to race. What could she be wanting to tell me that was so hard to say to this extent? My mother was not the one admitted to the hospital, but she already had reddening eyes from the news she was about to break to me.“Is it Tyler? Do you want me to go back to him after all of this?” I began to guess what she wanted to say. But her eyes only got redder, and she shook her head.“No, dear,” she sa

Eunice’s POV“Annie, please can you bring me some cubes of sugar?” I said to Annie with a smile as she served me a cup of coffee in my room. I had just returned home and finished talking to my mother on the phone, which was something of a nightly ritual between us.Each night, as my mom continued her adventure of flying to every country in the world, she made it a point to call me. Just hearing my voice, she said, gave her comfort, and in turn, her words always brought me peace. She’d always assure me that everything was going to be fine. And truly, those words had kept me going through the toughest moments. Look at me now—I've even gained more weight than I used to because I’m finally relaxed, finally at peace. There is one thing revenge does to you—it settles something inside you. When you enjoy the satisfaction of seeing those who wronged you pay for their betrayal, it makes you feel powerful. It makes you feel justified. That’s exactly how I feel now. Every ounce of pain crushing

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 38 The Big Fight

Tyler’s POVHave you ever been so emotionally troubled that you do not know the next thing to do? This was me right now.I had too many concerns at the moment that I didn’t even know which one to focus on.There was the staffing crisis staring me right in the face like a bull getting ready to strike with its horns. And then there was the next of kin update—something Lola wouldn’t let me rest on.As I thought about how to get new staff—because without a company, what was the essence of the next of kin paperwork?—I also couldn’t ignore the pressure mounting from home.Yet, I knew how Lola would make a big deal out of this if I failed to do it before I returned home tonight. The weight of indecision bore down on me, and I was already exhausted. But who was I to complain to?I took my hand to my jaw and placed my elbow on the table like a worried man.The desktop screen was still on. But what next to do, when every hiring site I visited, every hire button I pressed, returned a red decline

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 37 Tyler And The Search For Hire

Tyler’s POVI slumped into my office chair the instant I stepped into my office. It had never happened before that I would be the only one in this building, as big and wide as it was. The silence felt foreign, almost hostile, as though the walls themselves were whispering questions I didn’t want to answer. The month in the year Eunice and I got this place for our business, it had been just the two of us managing everything. But even then, our lawyer had been with us on that first day, reviewing documents and helping us through the paperwork. So, there had never been a moment when I experienced this place in complete isolation. I had never felt how big and empty it truly was until now, with business not running. The silence was eerie. If a pin dropped to the ground, it echoed all the way down the hallway—maybe even to the downfloor, and I just knew I had to do everything possible to fix the staff shortage that had suddenly struck my company like a storm.Trying not to panic, I turned on

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 36 Tyler at Work

Tyler’s POVI arrived at work, and what I saw made my stomach churn.I stood frozen at the entrance door. It was locked — like no one had been here today. My company opens at 7 a.m. for employees and at 10 a.m. for customers to come and enjoy our best-of-the-best services. But even at 8 a.m., when I got to work today, there was no one around?I already knew my directors and top stylists had stopped working for me. They didn’t even bother to resign properly. No notice. No formal resignation letter. Instead, they simply started working for the beauty company that had just opened down the street.Could it be that my regular stylists and makeup artists had followed the same path?My heart began to race as that horrible thought settled in. Before I knew it, I fumbled into my pocket and brought out my key to unlock the entrance door. When I got inside, my eyes scanned the room — and my heart dropped further. The place was spotless. Sparkling clean from end to end. Not a single stain anywhere

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 35 Tyler in Action

Tyler’s POVI slept like a baby right after the beautiful, enjoyable sex I had with my beautiful and lovely wife. They say when a man releases, he releases everything in his body and soul. The weight of his day, the ghost of his past, and the love he doesn’t know how to say aloud. This was exactly how I felt when Lola and I were done with the intimacy. I just wanted to close my eyes and fall into a very deep sleep to wake up the next day, which I did right after Lola finished telling me some important thing. That night felt like a balm to my spirit—a peaceful end to what had been a chaotic day. I drifted off in her arms, reassured by her warmth, her scent, her presence. As the sun rose, I stretched my hands in the air, yawning as I welcomed the new morning. Though yesterday was sad, I woke up today a happy man.But why wouldn’t I be happy?I turned to my right and saw Lola. Her eyes were still closed and her body was still still.I didn’t need anyone to tell before I knew she was stil

Eunice’s POVI sat behind my desk, right in my office, when Julie walked in. Normally, I wouldn’t have lifted my head. I would have continued focusing on my laptop because I was in a virtual meeting with the board of directors of my Maison Vivre. But today was different. Julie wasn’t alone. She walked in with a man right behind her.He was dark, tall, and wore a kind of velvet suit that was as dark as charcoal. I had never seen him before in my life. But seeing him walking in behind Julie, I figured he was someone important.Julie bowed as soon as she reached the side of my desk, showing her usual respect. The man, on the other hand, stood at the front of my desk and bowed evenly, with calculated precision.“Alright, dear directors. Please give me a moment to pause this meeting—I’ll reconnect later so we can continue discussing the matter,” I said to my directors on the virtual meeting. “Alright, madam,” they all responded one after the other, and I watched as they logged off the mee

Lola’s POVWhen he drank it, I leaned upwards in a way that I could see his mouth open and the liquid in the cup flow through his lips. I watched his throat as he swallowed it down, every movement registering in my mind like a silent confirmation. Then I revealed a smirk from the corner of my cheek because I had just confirmed that he really drank the tea—the poison. It was no longer a plan. It had begun.Today, Tuesday, April 29, marked the day Tyler started to die. And every morning, he would keep taking this pill until the moment he took his last breath.I had to stay close—watch every breath, every expression, every shift in his energy. Because when that final moment came, when he gasped for air he couldn’t find, I would be there. I would look him in the eye and reveal everything. At the instant he took his last breath, I would tell him why I started killing him slowly. He would be shocked to know that he was not the real father of Jasmine and that it was I who killed his mother.B
