Henry’s POV.

The engine roared louder, and the cold night air whipped across my face. I thought maybe we had a chance to escape, but then I saw it, another boat cutting through the dark water straight at us.

Before I could even speak, it slammed into our side, shaking us so hard I almost lost my grip on the rail. Three men jumped over, rough-looking, their eyes locked on the black bag in my hands.

“Give us the bag!” one shouted.

I held it tighter against my chest. “No,” I spat, breathing hard. “You’ll have to kill me first.”

One of them swung at me, his fist crashing into my jaw. My head snapped to the side, pain bursting through me, but I still didn’t let go. I clutched the bag like it was my last breath.

Diego was fighting too. He grabbed one of the men and pushed him back, the two of them slipping and wrestling on the wet deck.

Another man rushed at me with something in his hand which looked like a pipe, and hit me in the side.

I gasped, my body bending from the blow, but still I

Mr. Mason’s POV.Coming back home after those long weeks in the hospital should have been a pure joy, but as I settled into the comfort of the living room, something inside me refused to rest. My heart was full of gratitude to still be alive, but my eyes could not miss what was happening right before me.Sylvester and Natasha sat together on the sofa opposite mine, but the air between them was heavy. They smiled when I spoke, they nodded when I joked, but it was all too neat, and polished. A husband and wife who loved each other did not sit with so much emptiness between them.I leaned back in my chair, watching quietly. Natasha’s laughter sounded light, but her eyes never reached mine. Sylvester answered her with short words, always polite, but always distant. They thought they could fool me, but they had forgotten I had lived long enough to see through any pretence. My years had taught me that silence between two people could speak louder than any quarrel.“Natasha, did you rest

Natasha’s POV.The hospital trips became their own punishment. Each time we entered my grandfather-in-law’s room, I felt like an actress playing a part I did not deserve. I laughed when I was supposed to, I held Sylvester’s hand when his grandfather’s eyes were on us, and I leaned close when we were meant to look united. But every touch was empty, every smile strained, and every laugh sounded hollow to my own ears.I hated myself for the lies. I hated that I could not be honest with the man I had once loved with all my heart. I wanted to pull him aside, to beg for his forgiveness, and tell him that I still belonged with him. But fear kept me still. Fear that if I spoke, he would turn away and never look back, and I would lose even the fragile pretence that kept me near him now.“Natasha, pass me the water,” his grandfather would say, and I would rise quickly, grateful for the distraction.“Of course,” I would answer softly, pouring a glass and handing it to him with a smile that felt

Sylvester’s POV.I stayed by my grandfather’s bedside, the quiet of the room broken only by the soft hum of the machines and the slow, steady rise and fall of his breathing. He spoke in that familiar, measured way, each word carrying the same weight it always had, even though his body felt fragile now. For a little while, our conversation flowed easily, almost like it had years ago. He asked about the company, about the cases I was handling, and I told him the truth, careful to keep my voice calm so he wouldn’t worry. But then his gaze shifted, first to Natasha, then back to me. His eyes, though tired, still could pierce through every façade. His forehead creased slightly as if he was trying to read a book with missing pages.“Is everything alright between you two?” he asked slowly. “You seem… distant.”His question caught me off guard, and my chest tightened instantly. I felt Natasha still beside me, her silence heavy in the air. My mind raced. I knew the truth, but telling him wou

Sylvester’s POV.The news came all at once, a storm of phone calls and messages that left me sitting in silence afterward, hardly able to breathe. First came the call from the police. My house arrest had been lifted. They no longer had reason to hold me. My name was cleared. They had a new lead, and Henry was now their main target. Then came the call from the board secretary. My position as CEO had been reinstated. The members who had conspired with Henry were being removed, stripped of their influence, one by one. For a moment, relief rushed through me. I could breathe again. The weight I had carried for weeks seemed to ease, but before I could even settle into that feeling, another call came, and everything changed. My grandfather had woken up. The words echoed in my head as if they had been spoken in another language. He was awake and well. The man who had raised me, the man whose voice had been silent for so long, could speak again. My relief turned to unease. I wanted to
