II: Popping a Boner Over my Enemy

Knox's POV

"What do you mean I'm getting married?!" Lance screeched at the top of his lungs when he suddenly barged in my office where  Dad and I were discussing his marriage. I saw his bodyguards entering and lining up with my own men.

"Ah, so you heard." I deadpanned with a sarcastic smile and pointed at the empty chair across from us because Dad was already sitting beside me. "Sit. We are just about to pick the lucky lady who will have the unfortunate fate of marrying you."

"Do I even have a say in it?" Lance huffed, slumping on the chair and crossing his arms.

"Yeah, no. You don't." I picked up one of the photos scattered on the table and threw it at him, watching it land on his lap and he picked it up with his eyes wide. "A married woman, really? What, single women or unmated females no longer do it for you?" I shook my head at her and continued to throw the other scandalous pictures of him like they were cards.

"This is the only way we can tame you, son. You need to stop sleeping around. You are almost thirty. Your older brother here is only two years older than you but he has already achieved so much. It's been years since your mate died and you are wasting your life away." Maximillian, my father, and the former Alpha of SilverFang and CEO before I took over, said in a calm tone.

"I am single so what is wrong with that?! And because you don't trust me to handle some of your business, father! It's so unfair! It's justifiable that Knox leads the pack because he's the Alpha, but why can't I get the company when I'm a Beta?!" Lance cried and I gritted my teeth in annoyance.

"We gave you a chance, but what did you do? You stole money and almost bankrupted it!"

Lance stopped his fake crying and wiped his invisible tears. "Well, you know I'm only good at modelling anyway."

I scoffed. "Good? Good at bullying your fellow models, you mean? You haven't changed a bit, Lance. When will you act your age?!"

Max grabbed my shoulder to calm me. "Now, now, let's discuss his marriage and pick the best candidate for your brother. Someone who can tame him, perhaps."

Aside from handling multiple businesses, and handling the pack, now I even have to choose a fūcking bride for my good for nothing brother! Great! I am busy enough as it is. Must I do everything on my own?

"At least choose someone beautiful or at least a Beta like me. I don't want to wake up next to a gorilla." Lance inserted, looking at us through his lashes innocently and I threw him a glare, making him shut up.

"I will pick the ugliest, oldest, and dirtiest shewolf out there. What age are we in now for you to act like that?" I grumbled under my breath, leaning back on the sofa. I threw a bored look at the board where interested candidates are being shown. The first one to come up was Louise Robert from MountainStone pack.

"Hmm, not a bad choice. She's only a few years older than Lance. She came from a prominent family. I played golf with her father a few times and I can tell that he's a good man." Max commented while nodding.

"Yeah, no. What this brat needs is a woman who can tame him, not someone he will control. Next." I ordered my secretary and glanced at my watch.

More women were shown on the board but none of them matches the criteria I was looking for. I didn't even care if they were a Beta or an Omega. Lance might be a senseless bastard, but he's still my brother and I know my mother will want the best for him if she's still alive. Sadly, she's been gone for a year now due to health issues. I was being serious when I said he needs someone who can control him. My brother can really be a jerk most of the time and I am aware that he can be too much to someone.

"Son, what quality are you looking for? I believe all the women we saw are more than qualified." Dad asked after ten shewolves were shown and none of them piqued my interest.

"Forget getting married, I think we should just have him serve the church."

Lance let out a gasp. "Brother!"

"Right. You are too sinful for it. How about the asylum?" I asked Dad who just shook his head and asked for the next one. I was prepared to say 'next', until I swallowed my tongue at the familiar face displayed on the white screen. "Well, I'll be damned."

"Do you know her?" Max asked me while my eyes remained glued on the face that hasn't aged one bit even though I haven't seen her in years.

How could I have forgotten the arrogant woman who kept on testing my patience and always picking a fight with me? The sassiest and bravest Omega I have ever met.  Shit, I hated her guts so much and my hatred only deepened when she had the audacity to reject someone like me when she was a nobody. I hated her so much that no one knew she was my mate. Her eyes didn't change one bit and it's as if she was still challenging me.

An idea struck me and an evil smirk formed on my face. "Her. Let's go with her."

"What?! But she's an Omega, brother! I prefer the other one." Lance protested and I sent him a glare.

"You will do as I say and that is final." I said firmly, leaving no room for any complaints, turning to Dad who agreed.

Alyssa Graham, we never had the chance to finish our conversation before when you rejected me and coldly left me. Why don't we continue it now? I will make your life a living hell, you arrogant woman.

"You're so mean, Knox! I wish you weren't my brother!" Lance yelled while crying with real tears this time.

"Well, we don't always get what we want now, do we?" I said dismissively, waving him away.

"Fūck you! You're the worst! I swear one day you will meet your match!"

When he said that, my eyes shifted to Alyssa's face staring back at me. "Yeah, right. That will never happen."

I let Dad and Cassie handle the rest because I still have an urgent meeting with Noel Caruso, then after that, I have to fly to Miami to close a deal with a building owner. I am planning to turn his run down building into a tourist hotel, but also an underground storage for our weapons. There has been nothing but peace but my instinct tells me to prepare and I will. Look at me dealing with my younger brother's marriage when I am still single at the age of twenty-eight. Not that I have the time to commit anyway. With how tight my schedule is, they'd be lucky to get a date from me. I'm fine with scratching an itch once in a while, plus I got to save myself from a drama.

There was an explosion before the car swerved from right to left. Larry was able to stop the car before we had an accident and I cursed under my breath.

"I'm afraid it was our tire, sir." He told me regretfully and I sighed, glancing at my watch.

"Fix it."

I stepped out of the car, slamming the door behind me and pulling out a stick from my suit. I put it in my mouth and I was about to light it when the bar across from us caught my eyes. My cell phone buzzed and I saw a message from Noel, saying he got caught up with something and he's asking to move the meeting for tomorrow morning instead. I gritted my teeth, pulling out the unlit cigarette from my mouth and clicked my tongue in annoyance before replying in agreement.

"What a bother."

"Boss, it's too dangerous here. Let's go inside where you can be protected." Marco, my beta, and probably the only man I can trust my life with, suggested while looking around.

My eyes shifted to the noisy bar again. "The fūck do you take me for?" I snapped in annoyance.

Marco gave me a pointed look. "Boss. You know your safety is my number one priority."

I grumbled under my breath. "In that case, you better carry me on your back because I need a fūcking drink."

My men followed behind me, bribing the guards so we wouldn't have to wait in line. I let them handle it and entered the place, scrunching up my nose at the strong smell of sweat, alcohol and smoke. I was instantly greeted by a sea of humans, werewolves and vampires, grinding against each other and my lips curled. Don't get me wrong. Since the treaty was signed many years ago, I also messed around with humans and vampires, but smelling all of them at once can be too much. I let my eyes roam until I found a perfect spot for me where there are fewer people. I ordered a glass of whiskey and sat on an empty chair. A glass became ten glasses later with multiple females and males begging to get in my pants but they were shoved away before they could finish their sentence. I am fūcking stressed and my men can drag my drunk body back to my house anyway.

I continued scanning the crowd until it settled on a particular one moving her sexy body sexily that it gave me an instant boner. What the fūck? What's this reaction? What am I, a teenager?!I couldn't take my eyes away from her and I waited until she turned around and when she did, our eyes connected and I couldn't believe my fūcking luck. There are so many scents here that I failed to pick her scent.

Oh, hello no. Did I just get a damn boner over my enemy and the woman who rejected me at that? It must be the alcohol because there is no way I'll find that spitfire woman sexy.

The next thing I know, the shewolf I chose to marry my brother, fell on my lap, right on top of my growing erection caused by her. And by the way her body froze, I just know she felt it.

Well, shīt.

CXII: Real Marriage This TimeAlyssa's POV"Marry me." "What?!" I exclaimed in shock. We had just finished the celebration and we were now in our room with Calix fast asleep in the middle of the bed. He woke up earlier just in time for the celebration to start and I fed him. He was passed around with everyone doting on him, and it was no surprise he's knocked out. Knox reached for my hands and I gasped when he slipped a beautiful ring around my finger. It wasn't the one he gave me when our marriage was fake. It shone under the moonlight and glimmered in the dark room. "I just thought that we should get married—a real wedding this time before the blue moon so we would be fully united." He licked his lips and kissed the ring on my finger as a sign of his devotion and love for me. "I realized that we shouldn't waste any moment. We have defeated Se—the monster, but who's to say that he won't be replaced by anyone? While the world is at peace and while we are together, let's do everyth

CXI: Reality is Still Better than a DreamKnox's POVI was lost in a dream and I couldn't find my way back. It felt like I was walking in an endless path with no direction and at one point, the path led me to where Alyssa and our son are. She had a bright smile on her beautiful face as she carried our son. "What took you so long, Knox? We've been waiting for you." I was lost, but it felt like I found my home and I embraced it. I embraced the feeling of being complete, of peace and happiness. I was so convinced that everything was real and time passed me by with endless happiness and love. But something felt wrong. Everything felt too perfect. Too surreal. "What's wrong, love? Did you not like the cake I baked? Or the food I cooked? Do you want something else?" Alyssa asked me in a sweet voice and my brows furrowed. "You don't know how to cook let alone bake." I said out loud and she looked at me with a confused frown. "What are you saying, love? Of course I do. I learned it for

CX: Deep SlumberAlyssa's POVI heard the sound of the door opening and I smelled Daisy's scent, but didn't look away from Knox's face. "Aly, why don't you eat first, hon? I haven't really eaten much today, but God knows I am trying so hard to stay healthy, not only for my son but for the pack. They have no idea how hard it is to swallow every piece of food I pushed down my throat knowing that I might wake up tomorrow with Knox gone. They have no idea how hard it is to force yourself to sleep when your beloved has been asleep for three weeks with no sign of waking up anytime soon. Three weeks quickly passed since we defeated Seymour and he was finally killed, but three weeks also flew by since Knox took a bullet for me and it hit an artery near his heart. The moment Seymour revealed his secret, I admit that I felt lost and I didn't know what to do. I was cornered and I was torn between being a father and a leader. If I had killed him right there and then, I would have admitted and completely given up on the thought that my son was alive out there. But if I spared him, it would mean throwing everything we did down the drain and we will go back to zero. In the end, my love for Alyssa and our son prevailed, but I also acted as a leader of my pack. When I saw that my son was indeed alive, I wanted nothing but to pull him in my arms, cry my heart out and apologize for abandoning him. But it wasn't the right time. CVIII: DesperationAlyssa's POV He dropped those words so casually but the impact it left on me was so immense that I swayed on my feet and Liam had to keep me from crumbling on the ground. "What are you saying?" Knox asked after he recovered from shock and I witnessed how his hold on him loosened. "I'm saying that your precious little angel is alive and he's in my possession." Seymour said smugly and I saw how it affected Knox. "Don't listen to him, Knox! We both know he's good at manipulating minds!" I yelled so he wouldn't let Seymour go, shaking my head a few times with fresh tears of anguish and sorrow falling from my eyes. "No matter how much we want him to be alive, he's no longer with us, so keep him out of your mouth, you monster!"I admit that he almost got me for a second because there is nothing I want in this world than to have my son back. But he didn't survive and I am slowly accepting it."Oh?" Seymour coughed out blood again and I wanted to wipe that stupid smirk
