Oscar's decision

Oskar caught sight of Ray as he walked around the builiding with the employee as he got lost in his thoughts, his expression stern and angered. His heart raced against his chest, and looking at his best friend only made him want to gut him out.

“I see that you changed your mind?” He asked, glaring at the man who was abandoning his love on the aisle.

‘Ray, I’m sorry, but this is my sister we’re talking about...” Oskar said, stopping when he saw the path that he was going toward “where are you going?”

“I will stop this nonsense before the bride is embarrassed because of you.”

“If you’re so worried about Elena being embarrassed, why not marry her yourself? I CANNOT risk my sister getting hurt!” Oskar snapped, glaring at Ray. He walked past the man, making sure to bump his shoulder before walking away.

'I married Elena? but is that possible... She doesn't love me at all, but... But she is the perfect girl for me. But could she possibly want to marry me?' Ray wondered to himself, imagining the possibilities if he married Elena. But if he didn't marry that girl, her family would be very ashamed.

"Sir ...."

Ray turned his head when he saw a man dressed as neatly as he seemed to be approaching him.

"Do you know where Mr. Oskar is?" the man asked.

"He's gone," Ray replied with a confused look.

"What do you mean he's gone? Has he gone to the hotel where the wedding will be held?" The man wondered in astonishment. "He shouldn't have gone alone because I as an employee here am in charge of accompanying him ... In fact, everything has been prepared."

Ray looked at the man who turned out to be the wedding organizer. "He didn't go to the hotel but he went to save his sister," he said.

"What? He went to save his sister... What is it? Then what about this marriage? He should come to the hotel immediately to marry the bride... Even now it's scheduled... The bride's reception has called me many times..." The man wondered both confused and annoyed.

"He wants to cancel this wedding," Ray said blankly, imagining how Elena would be so embarrassed.

"What... canceled?"

"Yeah, this wedding is annulled, not just postponed….but it was really canceled because Oskar couldn't marry Elena," explained Ray, still haunted by imagination when Elena and her family would find out about the annulment of this marriage.

"Oh my God..." The man looked very disappointed, confused, and frustrated. He clutched his suddenly dizzy head, probably as dizzy as Ray felt. "Why should it be canceled when everything has been prepared and is almost done? This will make the bride's family feel very embarrassed and disappointed...This will go viral because today's wedding was held in such a lavish manner and invited many journalists!"

Drettt ... drett...

The man who served as the wedding organizer took out his ringing cell phone in the pocket of the black tuxedo he was wearing. He saw an incoming call and then answered while walking away from Ray.

"Hello, there's been a mess and this is totally unexpected," said the man.

Ray was silent, some continued to be silent with a feeling of confusion about what to do. For some reason, he was moved to take Oskar's place, but he was also still doubtful and worried that Elena would reject him, or maybe reject him in public which would only make him embarrassed.

In the room, Elena was sitting on the edge of the bed with her mother. She was holding her cell phone, trying to reach Oskar who should tell her that he had already left for the hotel where their wedding was to be held.

"Hello, Oskar. Have you left for here yet?" asked Elena with relief that Oskar had answered her call.

"I'm on my way," Oskar replied in a very low voice.

"That's good then, I'll be waiting for you."

"But ... But I'm not on my way there," said Oskar sounding nervous.

Elena frowned. "What do you mean?"

"Elena... I'm sorry...I can't continue our marriage. Our relationship must end from today ... I really can't stand you because it's for the good of my sister," explained Oskar.

Elena chuckled bitterly when she heard that. "What do you mean, Oscar? You canceled our wedding? I don't want to believe it. You decide unilaterally. Even though when planning a wedding, we both do it."

"Elena..."

The girl who was already neatly clad in a dress chuckled wryly. "Are you kidding, Oscar? If so, this isn't very funny!"

"Elena, I'm serious...We can't be together for my sister's safety."

"Whose salvation is for whom, Oscar?! I'm your future wife, it's our wedding day! You... bastard!" Elena started to cry, her body shaking from the sobs. "I don't want to know! Come here! We're getting married! I'm waiting for you!"

"Ele--"

The girl immediately turned off the phone.
