I stand frozen, my back pressed against the cold tile wall of the changing stall. My heart hammers so violently I'm certain Ivan can hear it from the other side of the door. Sweat trickles down my spine, each droplet releasing more of my natural scent into the air.

*What the hell is Ivan doing here?* The thought races through my panicked mind. Basketball was supposed to be safe—the domain of betas and weaker alphas. Ivan Volkov plays hockey, where alphas could legally draw blood and call it sport. That's his territory, not this.

Then it hits me with sickening clarity—Ivan is here because of *me*. Because I stood him up last night in the library. Because in the unforgiving hierarchy of Blackmoor Academy, no one defies an alpha like Ivan without serious consequences. I should have known better.

And now my clothes are missing, along with the elixir. The carefully crafted facade I've maintained for exactly one week was about to come crashing down around me. Everything I've worked for

Jason's POVThe emergency operations center hums with controlled chaos. Screens display attacks happening in real-time across multiple territories. Communication channels crackle with reports from security forces engaged in combat. Intelligence feeds track opposition movements and coordination. And I'm at the center of it all, coordinating progressive response to the coordinated violence that was meant to destroy us."Three more locations secured," Commander Hayes reports. "Attackers captured, targets protected. Casualties minimal.""What about the Western Coalition office?" I ask, knowing that location was hit hard."Four advocates killed, seven injured. Opposition forces withdrew after achieving objectives." His voice is grim. "They got who they were after."Four dead. Names I know. People I've worked with. Advocates whose families will receive devastating news because they chose to fight for omega rights. The human cost of this violence weighs on me, but I can't let it paralyze me.

  • Masked Desire   Chapter 161

Kaelen's POVThe lecture hall is half-full with graduate students when the first explosion rocks the building. Books fall from shelves, ceiling tiles crack, emergency alarms start blaring. For a moment, everyone freezes in confusion. Then the gunfire starts."Everyone down!" I shout, centuries of Lycan combat training overriding academic instincts. "Under the desks, away from windows!"Students scramble for cover as another explosion closer this time. The coordinated attack we've been preparing for - it's happening now, here, at the university where I thought I'd be relatively safe.My phone buzzes with emergency alerts. I see similar messages flooding in from across multiple territories. This isn't just my location. This is everywhere, simultaneously. The classroom door explodes inward. Three armed figures in tactical gear rush in, weapons raised. I recognize the coordination, the professional movements. This isn't random violence. This is a capture operation. They want me alive. As

  • Masked Desire   Chapter 160

Ivan's POVThe war room is crowded with military commanders, security chiefs, and intelligence coordinators from six territories, all gathered to respond to the threat Avalon's intelligence has uncovered. The maps spread across the central table mark dozens of locations - targets the conservative opposition plans to hit simultaneously in their coordinated assault."Based on current intelligence, we're looking at minimum forty separate attack sites across multiple jurisdictions," Commander Hayes briefs the assembled leadership. "The opposition has established independent cells for each target, limiting communication between groups to prevent complete exposure if one cell is compromised.""Sophisticated operational security," my father observes from his position near the maps. Marcus Volkov came out of retirement the moment I briefed him on the threat, his centuries of military experience too valuable to ignore during this crisis. "This level of planning and coordination suggests years

  • Masked Desire   Chapter 159

Jason's POVFive years. It's been five years since the academy, since Kaelen's betrayal, since Ivan rescued me from the experimentation facility. Five years since everything fell apart and then slowly, painfully, rebuilt into something I never could have imagined.I'm standing in my office at the International Omega Rights Coalition headquarters, looking at the wall covered with photographs and news clippings documenting our progress. Legislative victories. Rescued omegas. Convicted conspirators. Policy reforms across six territories. Thousands of lives changed because people were willing to fight for justice. And somehow, impossibly, I'm at the center of it all."You're doing that thing again," Ivan's voice comes from the doorway. "Getting lost in reflection when you have a meeting in ten minutes."I turn to face my primary mate, feeling the bond hum with contentment just from his presence. "Just thinking about how far we've come.""We have come far." He enters and wraps his arms ar

  • Masked Desire   Chapter 160

Avalon's POVIt's both opportunity and risk. Testifying would legitimize the work, bring my behind-the-scenes operations into official recognition, potentially expand resources and coordination with other intelligence networks. But it would also expose me to legal scrutiny about past actions, make me public figure when I've carefully maintained anonymity, create target on my back for opposition forces who'd love to neutralize my effectiveness. I'm in the apartment with Kaelen when the summons arrives, both of us reading it with growing concern about implications. "This could be good or very bad," Kaelen observes. "Depends on what they're actually asking and why." "The summons is vague. They want testimony about 'intelligence methodologies and effectiveness in supporting policy reforms.' Could mean they want to expand similar operations. Or could mean they're investigating whether we've broken laws gathering this intelligence." "You need to discuss this with Jason and Ivan before d

  • Masked Desire   Chapter 159

Avalon's POV The intelligence reports spread across my desk tell the story of conservative opposition movements I've been tracking for three years now. I've become very good at this work - identifying funding sources, mapping coordination networks, predicting tactics before they're deployed. It's what I do best, operating behind the scenes to facilitate others' public-facing advocacy. No one outside our immediate circle knows most of this work comes from me. My name doesn't appear on reports distributed to advocacy organizations. I don't present findings at strategy meetings. I provide intelligence to Ivan and Jason, who decide how to use it, and I remain invisible. This suits me perfectly. My controversial past would undermine the work if people knew Lord Ravenscrest's son was providing intelligence supporting omega rights. Better to be effective shadow operator than compromised public figure. "You've traced the funding through how many shell organizations?" Ivan asks, reviewing
