Chapter 3

"Hey, um are you okay?" She questioned, glancing down at his dirtied work boots and his marked up grey t shirt that looked as if it were struggling to be held together by the man's upper body mass.

Then that's when she saw it. The poor man. His knuckles were bleeding. "Oh my goodness. I have a first aid kit. You're hurt," she claimed, her nurturing side overturning any fear she had of the man. That had to be what Sera meant when she said he smelled like blood!

"Please sit down sir," she said frantically pulling out the small desk chair and pointing to it. "I'll grab my kit," she told him as she ran into the bathroom and grabbed her small white box, a big red and white cross on in it.

Once she rushed back to her room, she noticed that the man wasn't sitting down. Instead he had her vail in his hand pressing the fabric into his face. Now that made the fear come back tenfold.

"Excuse me sir but it's...it's against the laws for you to touch my veil. I'm a novice and that's not-please put it down," she shook as she watched him crush the soft fabric of her veil, holding it tight within his grasp.

"I'm a novice... you're crushing to my veil," she spluttered, her mind attempting to catch up with her mouth. She should have said more, maybe yelled.

The man's eyes narrowed, and he crushed the thin material under his large hands even more. Pomelia felt her stomach beginning to churn out of fear as she closed the distance between them.

Then his hand slipped to her chin, and she let loose a whimper. "Beautiful," was the only word he said clearly, his icy ice travelling over every inch of her face. He seemed almost... mesmerized by her?

"Let me go," she squeaked out, as his finger trailed down her throat. Then his nostrils flared and he slowly took a few steps back.

The big man's shoulder sagged, before he looked her dead in the eyes. "I'm...sorry for touching you."

He rubbed the back of his head, Pomelia's eyes widening as she realized how massive his arms were. She gulped, taking a step back. "Yes... are you okay?"

Pom nooded her head awkwardly, giving the warriors a smile. "I am. Thank you so much for checking on me, but it is not very appropriate for um, us to be in this room together...alone." Why was her heart thumping widely in her chest? Why was she shaking?

The warrior shook his head, taking a few steps towards her. "You are my mate." The way he said it made her chest ache. His words sounded so true but that wasn't possible. She was three months away from her vows. The goddess couldn't be that cruel. She just couldn't...

"I'm sorry Mr. War but you have to leave...please. I-I am not your mate," she said softly to him as his eyes darkened. He looked...angry. Turmoil etched onto his facial features.

The first aid kit hit the floor with a thud, and Pom felt herself falling seconds after her kit did... but her bum didn't hit the floor. Instead she was being yanked up and pressed against something solid and warm.

"L-let me go!"She shrieked, making the man wince as he still kept her incredibly close to him, pressing her soft body against his hard one.

Pom tried to hold herself together but she just couldn't." I-I can't. I don't have a sense of sm-smell. Nothing like a Lycan!"

"No, no, this is going terrible..."

Makaria glanced after floating the orb above her head in turmoil, before covering her face with her hands. She could not handle the changes, emotions and feelings intertwined with mortals! Sure she use to be one, but she had not felt all of those terrible emotions in over a century! Now watching after and even interfering with Pomelia Grace and her terrible mate were giving her stomach pains!

She had the god awful assignment of watching after them, after all it was technically her fault this happened. "Makaria, you are supposed to be watching them not, not..oh my! what's happening here?

Cringing at who's voice was hovering over her, she reluctantly uncovered her face and looked to see what was drawing such a large crowd. "He's making him sniff her!" Somenone gasped. A few cry of disbelief and laughter ensued.

"She's so scared! Was wrong with him?"

"His energy is nervous and frantic! He doesn't know what he's doing!"

Makaria glanced too see who was beside her and winced, Callisto's icy glare making a chill run over her body. "He is a bumbling idiot and is scaring that poor soul. She even tried to bandage him up and that brute just dismissed her and demands she sniff him. Ridiculous!"

Looking to the orb once more, she noticed that he had finally let her go as she cried. Warren of Bane pack nervously began to pace once again, running his hands through his waves of hair.

" What is all the commotion?"

A warm breeze suddenly washed over Makaria and the other skin, goose bumps pebbling their skin at the voice of such authority.

Their goddess appeared suddenly along with her animal companions, all in their ferocious, saliva dripping glory. She was a sight to be hold in her moonlight cream tunic with her dangling weapons tied like a sash around her waist.

" We are watching a tragedy of Warren and Pomelia take place my goddess," Callisto chuckled as the few other around Makaria began to slip away, making way for thier goddess.

Artemis approached slowly, her slim eyebrows inching up as she waved a hand over the orb, rewinding the events that just took place. Not a soul breathed as she watched intently, shaking her hand before she was watching what was currently taking place.

"You would think Alpha Sai would teach him how to woe women like he so filthily does," the goddess spat, taking a deep breath and running her hands through her translucent tresses. " It's looks as if Pomelia's fearful little friends has caught the attention of a priestess."

The orb immediately shifted to the view of the hallway leading to where Pomelia and Warren were. The poor frantic friend of Pomelia was dragging a tall, thin woman down the hall. Crying ang fussing about 'a beast with a musk of death.' Makaria frown as such a description of her assigned make. The girl could make such assumptions but could not even care to stay with her friend so that they beast' would not kill her friend! Humans were odd and she was so gracious as to not be one anymore.

"That is Priestess Arana. She is amazing for a mortal. She keeps those girls in line," Callisto commented, her eyes wide with admiration as the dark skinned woman with a scowl on her face slammed open the door where her two assignments were in.

The goddess of the hunt, sighed glancing at the small crowd that gathered around Makaria's work space. "After the outcome of this we all will go back to our positions! Are we clear?"

"Yes ma'am!"

Makaria's heart lept with joy as she leaned in closer to the ball of moonlight, getting a nicer view of the story ready to unfold before thier very eyes.
