Surprise and Shock

Surprise doesn’t even begin to explain what he felt the moment he heard what she had to say. Had he heard correctly what she had said, or he had just misheard?

That must be the case, he thought.

“I’m sorry, what did you say?” He asked, the surprise on his face still intact.

Beverly chuckled. “I know that you’re quite surprised to hear me say that I won’t you back, but I do and trust me, I’m serious this time. I want to be with you again.” He said.
