Avoiding Alex

After that night, Gabe had started to avoid Alex until he was able to figure out what to do with her. He had thought about it for day and night but there was no plausible idea, yet.

This morning, he had avoided seeing her by leaving for work too early without taking his breakfast, and he intended to go back home late at night. He knew that this might seem like he was a coward, maybe he was, or perhaps, he was taking the cowardice way out, but that was that, and it was better than losing control.

To Alex, she probably didn’t notice that, or even cared, because she had made no effort to see him after all. He didn’t even understand what exactly was going on, and why things were this way. He was going to have to go to the meeting with the elders tonight after he gets home at night. He needed to ask them some questions about having a human mate.
