Nadazhda POV

The breeze was whooshing lightly; the cloud was bright with the sun in the middle. The birds were chirping, flying from one tree to another. I laid on the floor with my head on someone's thighs who happened to be helping to braid my hair. I dipped my hand into the moving lake and felt a sense of serenity.

I sighed in contentment, am I in heaven? I thought, smiling at the coolness of the water.

"No, Bareea," I gasped; I was shocked to hear her voice in my head. The same voice. "You are at the border to either heaven or hell." the spokesperson said softly. I looked around for the source of the voice, only to face the woman braiding my hair.

"You are the one?" I asked in astonishment.

"Yes I'm the one, Bareea." she nodded and smiled at me.

"Who are you, and why did you help me?" I asked her, raising my head.

"I've been your guardian since birth, and my purpose is to help and guide you." she giggled softly; her giggle was like a piece of music.

"Then why did you not help me when father beat me or...?" I asked, hurt that she couldn't help me.

"I'm sorry, Bareea." she hung her head low, "I wish to, but the smell of cigarettes or flames make fae weak and sometimes when it's too much, it can kill us," she mumbled.

"Smoke could kill fae?" I thought.

"Yeah, it could," she whispered while I gasped again.

"Why are you able to hear my thought?" I asked sceptically.

"Because I'm your guardian, and I can hear what you thought." she grinned.

"What's your name?" I asked her.

"My name is Rina," she said.

A sense of serenity befalls us before a loud bell jingled, "everyone to your position." a loud voice boomed.

I flinched while Rena patted my back, "is okay, Bareea, it is already time." she said softly.

"Where do you think I'll be put?" I asked curiously.

"The hell is located in the ground while heaven is in the sky. Hell and heaven have seven divisions. I think you will be put in the seventh heaven because you are one of the most innocent people on earth." she smiled cheekily, "but life was too cruel to take you soon." she mumbled.

We walked forward until we reached an open field with different types of beings. A man with white wings was beside the gigantic white gate, while a man with black wings was beside the giant black gate. Red fires were blazing furiously surrounding the entrance; those directed inside were shouting in pain.

"Nadazhda Bareea Zoilo," I heard my name be called.

"Yee_?" I stuttered, running towards where my name was being called.

I walked forward and saw a stout man with long ears and a tail holding a yellowish file.

"This is your file on earth," he said gruffly and held it forward for me. I collected and stepped back.

"It's not time for you to be here, but why are you here?" He asked, scratching his stubble.

"I...I don't know, but I don't want to return." I pleaded.

Life was cruel

"Okay, we are tempering with fate. Go in there," he pointed to the white gate.

As I wanted to enter the gate, a loud shrill was heard, which froze everyone except me, who was blinking.

A woman in a white dress walked toward me with a stick in her left hand.

"Don't go in there, Queen?" she said softly with her melodic voice.

"What did you do to them," I asked.

"I pleaded with Time to pause," she replied.

"Why?"

"You are needed on earth to help. Please follow me back because if you don't, he will tear up the world." I furrowed my brows in confusion.

'Who is he?' I thought.

"Please, let's go. Time is impatient," she said hurriedly and held my hand.

When we left there, the place was unfrozen while the people continued to flatter as if nothing had happened.

The woman muttered some unknown words under her breath, and a white cloud formed on her hand. She continued to chant the words before a small gate was opened, and she pushed me in urgently. I screamed as I stumbled in; I felt a wave of dizziness watching over me as it was turbulent.

I fell with a loud thud on the ground. I groaned as I stood with shaky legs. I looked around and noticed I was on the road.

Good! I was stranded on the road.

This road looked familiar as I took in all my surroundings.

I stood on the roadside and saw a woman holding a girl, walking towards me.

I waved at them, happy to get help, but they didn't look at me. I shouted too, but all in vain. If the sky didn't meet the earth, then the earth would meet the sky; I huffed and walked to them. Upon getting there, I noticed both looked familiar. I scrutinised my gaze and gasped in shock because that was me when I was seven with my mom.

The seven years old me griped Mr. Bunny in my left hand while mom held me.

They crossed to the other side of the road; as they ran through the street, the bunny fell from me.

"Mom, it fell," I whined, tugging my mom's arm.

My seven years old self ran to the middle of the road to take the bunny, but upon getting there, a blue car was coming at full speed. I ran to her to help her, but my mother had reached there and was hit by the vehicle.

I screamed with my hands in my hand, but when I opened my eyes, I wasn't there again.

"Please wake up. He is waiting." Rina said persistently.

"Who?" I asked, panting in fear.

"Just release your senses. You're still in the unconscious realm," she said gently.

"Unconscious realm?" I asked with wide eyes.

Then I heard a smooth velvety voice urging me to wake up and open my eyes. It sounds worrying, afraid I wouldn't wake up.

I felt my surroundings and inhaled the rained smell of earth with a pinch of vanilla scent. I inhaled again and sighed in relief.

My favourite!

Big hands clasped my hands, and they engulfed both of them. A delight spark erupted throughout my body in pleasure. I snuggled close to the hands wanting the heat and comfort from them.

My eyes fluttered open, and I stared at ocean blue hypnotising eyes which could drown people in without escaping before I released a fearful shrill.
