FourNadazhda POVThe breeze was whooshing lightly; the cloud was bright with the sun in the middle. The birds were chirping, flying from one tree to another. I laid on the floor with my head on someone's thighs who happened to be helping to braid my hair. I dipped my hand into the moving lake and felt a sense of serenity.I sighed in contentment, am I in heaven? I thought, smiling at the coolness of the water."No, Bareea," I gasped; I was shocked to hear her voice in my head. The same voice. "You are at the border to either heaven or hell." the spokesperson said softly. I looked around for the source of the voice, only to face the woman braiding my hair."You are the one?" I asked in astonishment."Yes I'm the one, Bareea." she nodded and smiled at me."Who are you, and why did you help me?" I asked her, raising my head."I've been your guardian since birth, and my purpose is to help and guide you." she giggled softly; her giggle was like a piece of music."Then why did you not help me when father beat me or...?" I asked, hurt that she couldn't help me."I'm sorry, Bareea." she hung her head low, "I wish to, but the smell of cigarettes or flames make fae weak and sometimes when it's too much, it can kill us," she mumbled."Smoke could kill fae?" I thought."Yeah, it could," she whispered while I gasped again."Why are you able to hear my thought?" I asked sceptically."Because I'm your guardian, and I can hear what you thought." she grinned."What's your name?" I asked her."My name is Rina," she said.A sense of serenity befalls us before a loud bell jingled, "everyone to your position." a loud voice boomed.I flinched while Rena patted my back, "is okay, Bareea, it is already time." she said softly."Where do you think I'll be put?" I asked curiously."The hell is located in the ground while heaven is in the sky. Hell and heaven have seven divisions. I think you will be put in the seventh heaven because you are one of the most innocent people on earth." she smiled cheekily, "but life was too cruel to take you soon." she mumbled. We walked forward until we reached an open field with different types of beings. A man with white wings was beside the gigantic white gate, while a man with black wings was beside the giant black gate. Red fires were blazing furiously surrounding the entrance; those directed inside were shouting in pain."Nadazhda Bareea Zoilo," I heard my name be called."Yee_?" I stuttered, running towards where my name was being called.I walked forward and saw a stout man with long ears and a tail holding a yellowish file."This is your file on earth," he said gruffly and held it forward for me. I collected and stepped back."It's not time for you to be here, but why are you here?" He asked, scratching his stubble."I...I don't know, but I don't want to return." I pleaded.Life was cruel"Okay, we are tempering with fate. Go in there," he pointed to the white gate.As I wanted to enter the gate, a loud shrill was heard, which froze everyone except me, who was blinking.A woman in a white dress walked toward me with a stick in her left hand."Don't go in there, Queen?" she said softly with her melodic voice."What did you do to them," I asked."I pleaded with Time to pause," she replied."Why?""You are needed on earth to help. Please follow me back because if you don't, he will tear up the world." I furrowed my brows in confusion.'Who is he?' I thought."Please, let's go. Time is impatient," she said hurriedly and held my hand. When we left there, the place was unfrozen while the people continued to flatter as if nothing had happened. The woman muttered some unknown words under her breath, and a white cloud formed on her hand. She continued to chant the words before a small gate was opened, and she pushed me in urgently. I screamed as I stumbled in; I felt a wave of dizziness watching over me as it was turbulent.I fell with a loud thud on the ground. I groaned as I stood with shaky legs. I looked around and noticed I was on the road.Good! I was stranded on the road. This road looked familiar as I took in all my surroundings.I stood on the roadside and saw a woman holding a girl, walking towards me.I waved at them, happy to get help, but they didn't look at me. I shouted too, but all in vain. If the sky didn't meet the earth, then the earth would meet the sky; I huffed and walked to them. Upon getting there, I noticed both looked familiar. I scrutinised my gaze and gasped in shock because that was me when I was seven with my mom.The seven years old me griped Mr. Bunny in my left hand while mom held me.They crossed to the other side of the road; as they ran through the street, the bunny fell from me."Mom, it fell," I whined, tugging my mom's arm.My seven years old self ran to the middle of the road to take the bunny, but upon getting there, a blue car was coming at full speed. I ran to her to help her, but my mother had reached there and was hit by the vehicle.I screamed with my hands in my hand, but when I opened my eyes, I wasn't there again."Please wake up. He is waiting." Rina said persistently."Who?" I asked, panting in fear."Just release your senses. You're still in the unconscious realm," she said gently."Unconscious realm?" I asked with wide eyes. Then I heard a smooth velvety voice urging me to wake up and open my eyes. It sounds worrying, afraid I wouldn't wake up.I felt my surroundings and inhaled the rained smell of earth with a pinch of vanilla scent. I inhaled again and sighed in relief. My favourite!Big hands clasped my hands, and they engulfed both of them. A delight spark erupted throughout my body in pleasure. I snuggled close to the hands wanting the heat and comfort from them.My eyes fluttered open, and I stared at ocean blue hypnotising eyes which could drown people in without escaping before I released a fearful shrill.Epilogue2400 Kaobu realm"Mom, I'm out," she hollered, slinging her school bag as she waved at her mother at the entrance."Awwwww, my baby," her mother wiped the tears on her face dramatically with a kerchief."Hng!" she groaned, "mom, I'm not going to war," she stated, "I'm going to school, S C H O O L," she spelt out as her mum nodded in understanding."This is the first time you are leaving to stay alone.""I know," her shoulders slumped, "You'll make me emotional now," her voice already trembling as tears found their way to her eyes. This was another stage in her life; without her overprotective and caring mother, she would be alone on the big campus by herself. She hoped to explore and have more experience, which was why she decided to study history."Nada!" her mother called as she whipped her head to the back before entering the school gate, "Fighting!" She grinned back, lifting her elbow to return the morale. Her mother watched her entering the dormitory block before turning
Chapter 44The horses galloped through the forest as the rustling and whooshing of leaves were left behind. The braying sound and the strength of agility following their riders' command.Upon reaching their location, Zaccheus jumped down off the horses and whipped his head to see Alec standing in position. He strongly ordered Alec to go with some mages and warriors to scout the area while—Zaccheus would come behind. He looked at the beautiful castle and huffed; with a wave of his hand, the castle revealed its real crumbling self. It was an abandoned castle. The castle where he was born, where he was bullied, where he was blessed or cursed with power, where his mother died and where he painted his father's blood with. Before he ordered to build another castle."Come out, whoever you are?" he said as the sky became cloudy, the thunder rumbling quietly.A crackling noise came out of the door as it was bang opened by a dark energy force. "You've come," a snake-like hissed followed, "I've
Chapter 43"What do you mean you can't find a trace?" Zaccheus growled, his eyes shining golden iris as his voice was deep. His beasts were awakened. With every passing minute, he could notice himself getting crazier, and he ran his fingers through his tangled hair as he tugged the edge, getting frustrated.Three days.Three days. Seventy-two hours. Four thousand, three hundred and twenty minutes. Two hundred and fifty-nine thousand, two hundred seconds since his mate had disappeared in thin air.The weather had been changing from rainy to thunderstorm, and he was feeling immense sadness and anger. He didn't even have the time to worry about the people. When they arrived at the cottage, everything had been burnt down, and nothing could be found at the scene except the faint smell of teleport magic in the air. His heart thumped in its ribcage as the blood left his legs, making them tremble tremendously and fall to his knees. His eyes were vacant as he stared at the burnt cottage in den
Chapter 42Nadazhda's eyes showed betrayal and pain as she stared at him in disgust. He was the one, and he was the one saving her and putting her in the pit.She took him as her person, someone reliable, someone she could trust — she trusted him, but he was the person behind everything while putting on a pretence for her.Zeke!"You!" she uttered with hatred as she glared at him hard. She tried to tug the chain on her wrists, but it was impossible as he cackled at her struggle."How is my acting?" he grinned, kicking Rina, who put herself as a shield in Nadazhda's front before walking languidly to her."You son of a bitch!" she growled while Zeke tsked, shrugging his shoulders dismissively."I've told you, princess, cursing is not suitable for your innocent mouth," he mocked, gripping her jaw tightly as his long black nails pierced through her skin. Yet Nadazhda didn't give him the joy to see her crumble as she sneered at him."We took you as a family, and we are —no, we were a famil
Chapter 41{Listening to big-tailed fish when writing, blue whisper's OST} Zaccheus begrudgingly left his sleeping mate's side, looking at her again before sighing and walking out of the room. He left the cottage and saw the nobles outside, grumbling among one another. He massaged his pounding head and raised his hand up, which silenced them, and he closed his eyes tiredly, "Let's go to the pack house," he murmured, dismissing them. He had half of the idea why they came, but the other half was unknown. "What do you think they want to talk about?" Zeke asked while Alec looked at the retreating shadows of them. "Let's go," Zaccheus said. Without much hassle as walking, he teleported to the packhouse, and he didn't want any delay in going back to his mate. He sat on his throne. Zeke stood at his left side while Alec stood at the right side and the delta, waiting for the king's command. The nobles entered the throne room, making a noise as they argued with one another. "King," they
