Laurel Monterello's POV

I made my way out of my room to find another pack meeting in order. The alpha beamed a smile as everyone gathered including my parents.

I found Gemma and Alessia at the foot of the stairs. We were all confused but that didn't seem to shimmer the alpha's mood. It was only then that I noticed Tom. He looked directly at me, throwing me a smirk before looking at his dad.

"Everyone," the alpha beamed. "Tomorrow, we'll host the tournament to pick your luna!"

Gasps filled the air. My dad turned to his friend, seeming as shocked as the rest of us.

Whispers began flying with Tom not bothered as ever. Something told me he was behind it all. Matter flew to my side, mumbling words I did not care to understand.

He really meant it. I couldn't believe he was doing this to me.
