Chapter 27

The Little Plan

Lilian.

I located the living room after I had an early lunch and a lot of discussion with Estelle. Daemon sat leaning into the expensive leather couch with Oliver resting her head in his lap.

“Hey, Daemon.” I gave him a small sweet smile, and he sighed, looking away from me.

“Have you finally made your decision?” His voice was thick and husky as he looked over at me.

A small laugh escaped my throat as I looked towards Oliver, who was giving Daemon a look with those siren eyes of hers. “I don't think you understand that I'm not giving up on you anytime soon. I know this is just a phase you're going through, it will pass soon enough.”

“Getting bolder and more confident, I see…” Oliver noted, barely giving me any glance. “Perhaps, does it have anything to do with Daemon ridiculing you earlier? Do you think suddenly upping your self-esteem and confidence will change your mind?”

“Ah! My poor heart,” I faked tears of agony. “How could I be so stupid to think that

What exactly are you looking for, Lily?”“Lilian!” I snapped back almost immediately. “And about the ransacking thingy, I just wanted to feel your presence. To get your cologne all over my body, I just wanted to find ways to be closer and connected to you by touching your things…" “And how did you get yourself inside this room?”This time, I replied honestly because even I did not even know why. “Honestly, I was on my way out of your room when

Chapter 29Not My VoiceLilian.I woke up with a start. Sweat beaded my forehead, and I was panting and gasping for breath. My temperature had skyrocketed, and my pulse was racing. I knew I had a bad dream, but I couldn't grasp the details of the dream.“You're awake…" I heard a cold voice beside me and jumped, startled.“Kieran Masters!” I gritted my teeth in irritation. “What is it now? What do you want?”He gave me a grim look and handed the journals back to me. “This is a really archaic journal. The language is in the first language spoken by werewolves when they were created…"“So?” I snapped at him, not understanding what he wanted or where he was going. I was still reeling from the shock of having a nightmare that I did not want to deal with Kieran's grumbling.“So, I can't translate it. It is over seven centuries old.”I shrugged at him. “Well, that's your problem, not mine.”He pursed his lips before giving me a distasteful stare. “Do you realize that you are feeble without

My hands wanted to reach out and touch his face, but I resisted the urge and gave Daemon a suspicious look.“What is going on?” I asked in a shaky voice as I put more distance between both of us.“I could ask you the same thing, Lilian. Something about you is off.” His voice was hard and his gaze stony as he tucked his hands into his pockets.“Yep!” Wilder said in an unimpressed voice. “Her wolf is gradually coming back, Daemon.” He told his friend and walked out of the room. “See you soon, Lilian.”My wolf?I was still reeling in shock from Wilder's statement. What did he know about...?“He can smell you.” Daemon answered my question as if he knew what I was about to ask. “He is perceptive enough to know if you gave a wolf. It's a thing for vampires.” He said, studying me closely.I didn't know if I should be happy or sad. The tuggi

What do you want me to do?” He gave me an expressionless face.“Fine.” I paused for a few seconds to catch my breath. “I want Daemon, Oliver, and Hailey out of the house. What do you want to do?”“Don't ask.” My voice was hard.“I need to know if you would be inviting different kinds of people into this house when we are gone…"“I don't know anyone in the fi

Chapter 32Hello, Mate.Lilian.It was chaos downstairs when I was able to get down. I was mid-transforming into my wolf when everything went back to normal, and my bones healed faster than they had ever healed before. I was drenched in sweat as I got downstairs. It had taken a lot from me to turn. I also felt my wolf, but she was silent in my head, and anytime I closed my eyes, I felt the familiar electric blue eyes staring back at me.So, that was Laila, my wolf.“There you are.” I heard Wilder's voice as he stared at my figure. “We've been wondering how long it would take before you grace us with your presence.”“Well, I'm here now, ain't I?” I snapped at him.“Sit!” A reverberating voice commanded, and my eyes snapped to Daemon who had a passive expression on his face. “Don't make me say it again.”I wanted to retort, and for the first time I felt the force of my wolf holding me back. She was really strong, and I wondered why she wasn't speaking to me or coming forth. My legs move

Chapter 33Siren.Daemon.The moment Laila reared her head from Lilian's body, I knew that things were about to go wrong. Laila was like Ayana, they never forgave, neither did they take threats lightly.“It's funny, isn't it?” She spoke through Lilian's mouth. “It was just like yesterday that you walked into my parents garden and killed them. Doesn't it seem that way to you too?” There was pain in her eyes even as she said that.“I'm a Predator, Laila. I can't…" I tried explaining, but she cut me off almost instantly.“You can't what?” Her eyes glowered at me. “You can't control it, is that what you want to say, huh?” She snapped, not giving me any chance to respond.“I…” My voice faltered, and I was at a loss for what to say. There was no way I could explain how hard it was for a Predator to control his primal desires. No one ever understood, and explaining it was pointless.“Let me ask you something…” I said, trying to keep my growing anger at bay as she kept cutting me off. “What w

I learned that from your lovely mate.”“Hello, Ayana.” My mate's voice was soft as she slowly transformed back to human, her entire jade-like skin in plain view of everyone present, and another tight growl ripped through my voice as I felt like ripping the eyes of everyone who stared at her.“I thought you mentioned something about rejecting your mate and mating with someone else, what made you change your mind?” Ayana asked me in a mocking tone as she glided slowly towards the floor. Then, she turned to my mate who had not yet registered that she was standing stark naked in front of everyone around. “Hello, Laila. I wonder how that's going to happen too, you know.” She shrugged. “But your creator has offered a compelling show for us to watch. She has promised that you would deliver his head to us on a gold platter while you surrender yourself to us for our use.”“Us?” Daemon's hard voice filtered in confusion. Chapter 79An Open Secret.Flashback.Three months ago.“What is it you're saying, Ayana?” Lilian stood at the edge of the pack border, leaning against a tree trunk, her eyes fixated on the woman in front of her.“You said she has lost her memories about you?” Ayana inquired as she made calculated steps along the lines of the borders, she still couldn't take a step into the pack.“Yes. Everything.” Lilian nodded. “It's as if I've never existed to her before.”Ayana took in a deep breath and nodded. “Are you sure she is not just faking it for you to leave? Maybe she just doesn't want to be connected to you anymore.”Of course, Lilian had thought about that. But, she was really certain that it wasn't the case with her mother. Her mother had truly not remembered her. Even when she visited consequently, she had watched for any reaction that would give her emotions away, but her mother just stared at her warily and enthralled at the same time. Enthralled that Lilian looked just like her, b

  • Mated To The Predator    Each Purpose

Chapter 78.Each Purpose. It had been five months since the Patrons were captured, but things in all the packs in the world were silent. Everyone was scared about the Predator. First of all, they didn't consider the immense power he would have if he turned the Patrons to look in his favor. But, that hadn't happened. The Predator was almost like a normal werewolf. There was no mass havoc or the likes, he even kept to his part of the bargain by helping them out in their packs, so much that pack members in all the pack had begun looking up to him— like he was their savior. Some packs had an erected statue for him— done by the pack members of course, and this greatly angered the pack Alphas. There was a mix of harmony and tension in the packs. The Alphas were thinking of when Daemon would change and strike out at them…Things were also silent in the pack that Daemon and Lilian resided. Alpha Nowel had moved them from the pack house to a large house, built by the pack members. They even ha

Daemon, five full months, and you haven't said anything about progress!”Lilian stood on the patio of the house that they both lived in, leaning into the wooden walls and folding her arms, she glared angrily at Daemon who was on his way out of the house.“I. Am. Working. On. It.” He spelled his words out slowly with gritted teeth. What had gotten into her this morning? Why was she nagging him this early morning?“You say the same thing every day! That's all you've said for the past five months! When will all these be over? I'm tired already!” Her chest was heaving as she shouted into the clear morning air, the anger welling from within her.Daemon was silent for a few seconds as he stared hard at Lilian. There was something off about her recently, and he couldn't place what had changed again in her. She smelled different these da

Leaning into the half wall, she said. “Don't worry about that. Have you found out what I asked you to?”The man gave her a long stare before he sighed in resignation and pulled out an envelope from the pocket of his finely sewed black suit.“Yes…" He paused, opening the envelope and taking out its contents. “True to your suspicions, the Predator has been making secret moves. Presently, he is away in the Borderland Packs.”Oliver raised her brows at that. “That far? What is he doing there?”Oliver wondered to herself as she tried to understand why Daemon and Wilder had gone off the radar these past few weeks. She barely heard from any of them, and somehow, she felt abandon

Her arm around his neck tightened, and she drew his face even closer, burrowing her nose into the crook of his neck, taking a deep sniff of his natural scent.“Lilian.” Daemon growled as his eyes darkened. What was this woman doing? This wasn't the right time for this! Hell, they were about to get separated from each other anytime from now. When her fingers brushed the back of his head, he felt his body stiffening.Just a few minutes, he thought, then he would place her on her bed and leave. Chapter 74The Party. The hall was full to the brim with teenagers and adults, though the adults outnumbered the latter.Lilian peeked from the corner of a room upstairs, with a satisfied look on her face. Her plan for this party was to smoke out the patrons using her powers— hearing hushed whispers or distant noises if she tried so hard to concentrate on them.“Are you not joining the party?” She heard a deep voice behind her, startled, she turned to find Daemon staring at her from the corner of the room.“When?” Her brows rose confused, “How did you get in? How did you know I was here?”Daemon just shook his head, his eyes still not leaving her figure. “It's okay to feel like backing out, I told you this party was useless in the first place.”Lilian gave him a mirthless smile and shook her head, tilting her head to the side, she said calmly. “I think you need to, you know, clear your head with this party. Her back was straight, and her eyes were staring intently at the clipboard in her hand, she was barely looking at the man.“Of course, you need my help!” He inwardly rolled his eyes as said, unable to hide the growing irritation. “Just what do you need? And at what price are you willing to give?”“I need their identities before this evening is over.” She said calmly, and it took a few moments before he could understand what she was talking about.A small frown formed on his face. “You saw them during the exchange,” He said in a serious voice, standing from his crouched position, his face straight. “Why don't you reveal their identity yourself?”She pursed her lips for a few seconds. “I can't. It was sealed in me.”Her mind flashed back to the night during the first exchange, that

Is she okay?” He began to pull himself away from the wall, his voice filled with worry.Oliver felt the hollow pain in her chest as she watched Daemon's concern for Lilian. Oliver casually glanced at him before going back to her thoughts. She had been expecting him for over an hour, and she had given up on waiting for him.“I'm sorry for the delay.” The man said in a gruff voice and slipped on quietly into the room, closing the door behind him with a soft click. “I had to weave through many guards before I could come up.”“Just stop with the lies.” Oliver looked uninterested. “There are barely any guards or warriors around this time of the night.”The man began peeling off the coat from his body, hanging it on the nearest chair he could find.“Maybe things have suddenly changed, or,” He shrugged, “You're not as observant as you think you are.”“And
