Disappear

NOREEN 

I spent the rest of the night swearing and cursing at him that I slept off, feeling tired and spent. 

When I woke up, I found myself back in my room with Amber judging eyes glaring down at me.

"You had quite a night," she commented, glaring at me.

My cheeks turned crimson red as I stood up, avoiding her gaze, "What do you mean?"

"You made it quite difficult for some of us to sleep with your loud cries." She replied. 

Didn't he say—

Oh goddess, I wish the ground would open up and swallow me whole.

I looked everywhere, but at Amber, "Is there a reason you are here?"

"The Lady wants to see you. I was asked to bring you over."

I raised an eyebrow, "The lady?"

"The King's betrothed."

"Oh..."

"Be careful with your words too, if you don't want to spend the rest of your life in some shallow grave and not even the King would help you because he wouldn't even be aware."

"I understand," I replied, "So who's she really?"

"She's the first daughter of Alpha Rowan, Head of the Blue Moon Pack, and has been living here for two years. Once the King successfully gets his heir, they'll get married. Rumors had it that she rejected her mate just to be with His Majesty, and the King likes her. That's why he didn't want to subject her fate to carrying his baby."

"Oh..." I murmured, feeling a pang of jealousy at their love. 

"That's why the Beta usually buys as much slaves as he can."

"Hurry up," She added with a snap, "We can't keep the lady waiting,"

I rolled my eyes inwardly. I can already know how this would end. She would threaten me, ask me to leave, and I'd take my chances then. I'll ask for help.

If anyone can save me from the clutches of Elion, it's her.

I leave, go into hiding, make enough money, and come back to pay him.

Amber led me to the Lady's wing on the other side of the palace. She even had her own mini throne.

Elion must really love her.

"Miss Kathleen," Amber bowed and left.

I stared at the woman on the mini throne. She was no doubt beautiful with long braided hair, blue eyes, perfect skin tone and—

"Stop looking," She smiled at me.

I blinked. 

She really was smiling at me.

The univers must really have it in for me because she had no reason to be so welcoming. 

"You look surprised." She beamed, snapping her fingers.

Every maid and guard in her little throne room disappeared. 

"I heard you're the new slave and Elion brought you here personally," she said with that same sweet smile.

Something is wrong with me and my wolf. I have absolutely no attraction towards the Lycan king, and yet, hearing Kathleen call his name in such an affectionate way made me bitter. 

"Yes," I answered, "To be his breeder and sex slave."

"You don't look happy." 

I forced out a big smile, "Oh, I'm glad to be here and honored to bear the King's pup."

"Is that sarcasm in your tone?"

I shrugged, "That depends. Did you detect it?"

"Don't you think if you're truly the one meant for him, you should be able to bear his pup. No slave has to die again, or are you scared?" I added, wriggling my brows.

Her smile disappeared, "Do you want to get out of here?"

Finally, now we are getting somewhere. 

"Money," I told her, "I need money, and I'll disappear from your life. You won't even have to worry about some mate, somewhere."

She narrowed her eyes into slits, "Why would I have to worry about a mate? I'm his mate."

He didn't tell her.

I snapped my fingers, "Exactly. If you help me out, I won't get greedy enough to demand to be bound Elion, too. It'll be just you."

"Elion?" She scoffed, "I didn't realize you're on a first name basis with the king."

Oh shoot.

"Just help me out, and I'll be out of your hair."

She stared at me for a while. It was hard to know what was going through her mind. 

"Fine." She said moments later, "I'll help you out of here and give you the money."

I nodded, "Is there a catch?"

"No," she shook her head, her smile back, "There's no catch. I just want you out of here."
