That evening was a flurry of preparations. The dragon council’s guards would be here tomorrow to transport us there before the trial began, so we had time to settle in.

It was a strange feeling, being in front of the council no one ever really saw them. They remained in the shadows of our world, ruling from behind the scenes rather than taking a hands-on approach in the day to day running of our world.
