My wolf suddenly came alive and its ferocious groans resounded all through the chambers. I watched him as he stuttered.

"I-I um, have not mated with another, my dear. You know as much as I do that I cannot be united with another wolf in mating. You are my mate, Katara,"

"Who then was she and what had kept you away from me all night until the very time you stepped into this chamber?“
