Slowly I opened my eyes and the moment I did, I let out a little gasp. Nicholas was standing right in front of me, facing Aura. Drops of red blood fell to the floor and I stepped aside to look at his face. His flesh was cut from the top of his eyebrow, through his cheek and right down to the jaw. I noticed now that all the plants in the house had changed. All of the vases were filled with bright pink roses and these roses seemed to follow us right to the foyer, out of the door, and then, their petals formed a path around the house, leading to the backyard where it was beautifully decorated. A wooden canopy stood in the centre of the yard, surrounded by the strangers who’d come to live stream this engagement. The canopy was draped in vines of pale pink and bright white flowers and surrounded by pink petals. They were gently illuminated by the soft rays of the sun and for a moment, I admired the beauty of the set up. Tension hung in the air, thick enough to choke on. This was a live broadcast and the moment Stacey had made herself known, the cameras were on her too. It was a spectacle for the world to see, this seemingly scorned woman, fighting against Nicolas’ guards just to get her hands on the ring that supposedly belonged to her.
