03 - The Dark Prince

Javier

I had stolen a suit plus a wedding dress to wed my bride. It was nothing like back in the 1800s, where no eyes would suspect. Compelling some attendants, outrunning the guards and sidestepping sunlight was no easy job.

I’m so going to figure out the fucker that took my ring.

“Good thing I am unidentified though.” I smirked, at the thought that no one knew I existed. My vision came back to what was happening in front of me.

I could hear their pitching voices, as I approached the throne room, in distance. The bloody council of the Vampire Elders. They could argue from hell to back in a day, it was seemingly alarming that they haven’t changed.

“My Crown Prince--“

“Shh,” I immediately directed to the maid that intended to draw attention to my presence. In my hands, was Maya’s tiny frame. She passed out the moment she got bitten. Did it to keep her safe. Humans were out of bounds in my Kingdom.

“I-is she okay?” The maid stuttered. I snapped my fingers to some bodyguard who rushed his vampiric motion speedily, with a devoted look.

“Make the physician attend to her.”

They bowed at my words. Maya was in their arms on the spot. I watched their retreating figures as they hurried to revive her. I knew she would be safe. I recognized her as one of the special ones, the instant I set my eyes on her.

“The werewolves can’t co-habit with us. It’s a taboo in the name of the Death Goddess. She won’t support it, my King!”

I scoffed, at totals of yelling stemming from the throne room. Last time I set foot here, there had been a rebel against the throne. My ruthless father, Vladmir executed the traitors on spot. It was a lot of chaos.

“They’re suggesting a truce. We’ve fought a lot, over the years. The wolves are not blessed with longevity like us, people!!” I could recognize that old hag’s voice from anywhere. The way his nanus build, sat on the throne pictured in my head. “This is our advantage to use whatever history we have, against them if they grow dissident--”

“Objection, my King!”

“Objection, my King!!”

Those echoes followed, with several others. I sized up the Royal palace, which now seemed advanced. Maya talked about 21st century, which meant I slept for 200 years.

One man’s foolishness caused that...

“I reject all objections!” Father yelled at the entirety of Elders. “We are aligning with the wolves and that’s final!!!”

What seemed like a rampage, grew into total silence. I pushed the door gently, with intent to reveal the fact that I was awake, not rotting away in a tomb. Right in the center on the throne room, was that shit face, King Vladmir. The Elders had changed their positioning compared to the past, yet, it was rather similar.

“Greetings, father.”

Overwhelming gazes of surprise was written on everyone’s face. My advanced hearing could catch the pacing of the Elders’ heartbeats, with the servants’. King Vladmir’s heart wasn’t pacing. It was astonishingly intact.

“Javier?” he smug his lips, saying.

I narrowed my eyes at his appearance. King Vladmir’s hair was no longer bald like in the past. Something told me in had to do with the 21st century’s conducts.

“Javier!!! My son is back!!!”

He absconded from the throne, running to hug me who stood stiff in his hands. I knew the kind of man he was. He was one of those people that signed my death when I got of control. For fuck sake, why was he pretending?

“Isn’t he dead?” The whispers begun. “Thought he was destroyed?”

“Wasn’t he sealed with a witch’s curse?” Another Elder asked another. “Who woke the Prince of Darkness up?”

Those hateful murmurs weren’t even hidden. This wasn’t the first time these fuckers spilled their guts like that. Zoraida, the witch, came forward from father’s side. As my step mom and the Kingdom’s consultant, our Kingdom became fucked every day.

“My Lord!” Zoraida exclaimed, running towards me with her long red hair cascading with an air of unauthenticity reverberating through. This woman was a born actress because tears contained her eyes.

“Announce to the Kingdom, we would have a banquet to celebrate his arrival,” Vladmir stated, with pride in his face. I stared at Katherine and Rufus, as they approached me too. Could imagine the lies their mum, Zoraida, had fed them with. She would have given them reasons to hate and loathe me.

“Welcome, big brother.” Katherine outstretched her hand, in a handshake.

“Welcome, Prince Javier.” Rufus muttered, doing the same.

“Welcome back, our Prince!!!”

The entire room of servants and Vampire Elders chorused.

“I’d say a magnificent thanks, to you all, even though the grey hairs don’t settle with it.” I point blankly replied. The whole room resounded in murmurs and gasps.

“The Prince must be irrational from his stay in the tomb. I’ll escort him to his room now!” Zoraida stated, with her hands reaching for me.

I scowled from her touch, knowing she hated me too.

“I’m a grown man. I can walk myself, Zoraida.”

“Of course.” She smiled at my words.

“This meeting ends here.”

Vladmir announced. As I walked away, I took a brief look back at his disturbed expression.

“As you wish. We would announce the Prince’s arrival to the Kingdom, Your Majesty!” The Elders breathed out.

Maya

On waking up, there was someone sitting on my bed. She had a red hair, it was plaited. Her side view looked terribly familiar, couldn’t help but spring up to look carefully at her.

“Do I know you?!”

Those words flew out of my mouth before I could even think. My eyes widened at the extent of my directness. Where the hell was I, by the way? It seemed like a room, colorful posters on the wall and a spacious houseful of welcoming decorations.

“I’m your doll. You saved me, Maya. Thanks.”

“Delilah?!” I shrieked the minute she conversed in my thoughts like she always did. “Y-you’re real?”

Wow, she was grown now. She had a human body and was quite voluptuous as of this moment. Her breasts looked jingly, real, so did her skin. She smiled at me, as I moved to poke her.

“You’re turned.”

I blinked my eyes countlessly at her statement. What did she mean by that?

“I trust Javier couldn’t wait to stake a claim on you.”

Okay… I was really getting confused. Why was she mentioning weird names?

“Who is Xavier and where are we?” I drew closer, asking. Delilah took my hands in hers. Her crimson eyes with dark pupils, stared at me confusingly.

“You can’t remember last night?”

At her words, flashes of the previous night imprinted in my head.

The Escape.

The visit to cemetery.

The wish I made to see my parents.

The unstaking of a vampire’s heart. My marriage to him, dammit.

My eyes circled in surprise. “Was it all real?!”

Delilah nodded, standing up from the bed. As she did, my stomach grumbled in hunger. I groaned at the embarrassing sound it made.

“You need to eat now.” she stated in my head. Delilah walked to some drawer, bringing out piles of blood bags and putting them on a tray.

“These are various blood groups, Maya. O+, O-… You can only drink from your blood type.”

Surprisingly, Delilah tore one of the bags, drinking from it. “Seep slowly so your body processes each nutrient of the liquid.” she added.

I moved back, hastily thinking of where she got those blood from and why she was drinking it? It made me realize she was a vampire too. Why would I even want that like her?

“I’m not a vampire, Delilah. I’d prefer food and nothing else.” I freaked out, saying. Suddenly, I experienced a burning feeling at the base of my throat. The smell of the blood bag, an alluring metallic one, became pleasant, turning to a scent. I so had to run. I couldn’t turn to these creatures; ever.

I took a glance of my body. I was clothed in peach shorts and a white pyjamas shirt.

“Wait, Maya! Where are you going?”

I ignored Delilah’s voice in my head, swinging the door open. My bare feet trotted out of the door to run away from the nightmare of drinking blood. Also had intentions of finding the sonofabitch that tricked me to spending a night here. Good thing he didn’t lay a finger on me.

I looked back as I ran. Surprisingly, I was so swift than how I have ever been. What’s happening? What’s this?

My head bumped into a hard surface, making my movement halt instantly. Instead of pain, electricity swooshed in. The bite on my neck throbbed, almost in desire. Like it wanted something.

Javier.

I called out in my mind, it seemed like he could hear me like yesterday.

“Missed me, sugar plum?” he smirked.

“This wasn’t the deal.” I spat. “I marry you and you revive my parents. I go back!”

“Leave? Hell no, princess. You’re not leaving this palace anytime soon.” Javier responded, with his nose flaring.

“W-what?” I stuttered.

He was so different from the man I met last night.

I drew nearer about to slap him, when he held my hands. Javier pushed me to the wall, pinning my wrists above my head. “You’re not leaving me.”
