119 - Epilogue 2

Javier

These children...

They were innocent and frail.

I didn’t want to put my misfortune on them, so I tried my best to act kind.

“We are fine, but we are so scared, uncle Javier.” They said. “We want to leave this dark place. Can you take us away from here, please...?”

I squatted, turning on even a bigger light which was more beautiful. It illuminated the room brightly, and they said, “Wow, it’s so beautiful!”

“These are the rarest of times darkness turns to light.” I said and they nodded making me pat their head smiling.

Couldn’t even remember the last time I smiled.

It was like I channeled the hurt of losing my mate to my darkness. I also wondered how my new born would be right now.

I couldn’t even support her in the crucial moments.

Not that I didn’t try.

I had three submarines in the water which I used to wait for her every day.

“We love it!” They exclaimed.

Love?

The last time I experienced that feeling, all I felt was abandonment…

“Come on,” I took their hand
