Sirella’s Pov

I sat on the cold wooden floor of my tiny servant’s quarters, my fingers curled into fists. The flickering candle beside me cast long shadows on the walls, but I barely noticed. My mind was elsewhere.

This was the night.

For weeks, I had been gathering information. Listening. Watching. Gregor was one of Damien’s most trusted guards. He was ruthless, eager to prove his loyalty. He carried out Damien’s orders without question, no matter how cruel.

Tonight, he was leaving the palace alone. A rare opportunity.

I reached under my mattress, pulling out the dagger Kieran had given me. It was small, sharp, meant for quick kills. My fingers traced the cool steel. This wasn’t training. This wasn’t a test. I was about to take a life.

A part of me hesitated.

Would it change me? Would I feel different after?

I pushed the thoughts away. I had made my choice long ago.

I wrapped the dagger in cloth and hid it beneath my servant’s robes. Then, I blew out the candle and slipped out the

Sirella’s POVThe air in Kieran’s hideout was thick with silence. I sat across from him, my hands resting on my lap, waiting for his approval. I had killed for the first time, and he had been pleased, but I knew it wasn’t enough. Killing a pawn meant nothing if the king was still standing.Kieran leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed. He studied me for a long time before he spoke. "If you really want to destroy Damien," he said, his voice calm but firm, "you have to make him obsessed with you again—then break him completely."I stiffened. My instinct was to reject the idea immediately. “No.”Kieran raised a brow, unimpressed by my defiance. "You don’t defeat a man like Damien with strength. You do it by making him weak."I hated that he was right. Damien was powerful, ruthless, and feared by many. A direct attack wouldn’t work. But I also knew his weakness—his pride, his ego, his desperate need to own what he thought belonged to him.Me.I exhaled slowly. "Fine," I said. "I'l

Sirella’s POV The game had begun. Damien thought he was winning. He believed I had softened, that I still had feelings for him. He didn’t know that every smile, every hesitant touch, every lingering look was a carefully placed piece in the trap I was setting. Step one: weaken him. I started with small doses. Nothing strong enough to raise suspicion—just enough to make him feel off. It was tasteless, scentless, and dissolved easily into his wine. The first night, he didn’t even notice. The second, he frowned as he rubbed his temples. By the third, I saw the exhaustion creeping in, the slight hesitation in his steps, the flicker of confusion in his eyes. Good. But I couldn’t rush it. If he collapsed too quickly, they would investigate. I needed it to seem natural—like stress, like fatigue, like the weight of running a pack was finally getting to him. While the poison worked on his body, I planted doubt in his mind. It started subtly. A misplaced scroll, an altered report,

Sirella’s POVI felt his eyes on me long before I turned to face him.Damien had been watching me more closely these days. I could sense it in the way his presence lingered, in the way his gaze burned into my back whenever I moved through the palace halls. At first, I thought it was suspicion. But it wasn’t. It was something else. Something hungrier. He didn’t understand it.He had rejected me—thrown me away like I was nothing. And yet, he was still drawn to me. I could see it in the way his fists clenched whenever I smiled at another man, in the way his eyes darkened when I walked past him without a word.He had expected me to crawl back. To beg for his love. But I was indifferent. And that unsettled him.One afternoon, as I carried a tray of wine through the grand hall, he stepped into my path. I stopped just in time, the silver goblets clinking softly against each other. He didn’t move.I lifted my gaze slowly, meeting his. “Alpha.”His jaw tensed at the title. “Sirella.”I said no

Sirella’s POVThe night was cold.I sat by the servants’ quarters, my dress still damp, the chill seeping into my bones. My hands were clenched into fists, my nails digging into my palms. My hair stuck to my skin, heavy with the scent of the fountain water. The humiliation from earlier still clung to me like a second skin.I had swallowed my pride.I had bowed my head. And Damien had done nothing.I should’ve expected it. I did expect it. But that didn’t stop the anger burning inside me.I should’ve snapped Vanessa’s neck the moment she laid hands on me.I should’ve let her drown in that fountain.A shadow moved behind me.I didn’t turn. I knew who it was.Keiran.He leaned against the wooden frame of the doorway, arms crossed, eyes unreadable. The moonlight cast sharp angles over his face, making him look even more detached than usual.“You’re here to destroy them,” he said, voice calm but firm. “Not to cry over their insults.”I exhaled slowly. “I wasn’t crying.”Keiran hummed like

Sirella’s Pov I stood at the edge of the training grounds, my hands folded neatly in front of me, my face blank. The morning sun burned against my skin, but I didn’t move. Around me, servants rushed to prepare for the event, setting up shaded areas for the high-ranking wolves to sit and watch. The Luna Selection had officially begun.I kept my posture still, observing as Alpha Donovan stepped forward. His presence was commanding, even without saying a word. The gathered nobles and warriors quieted instantly, their eyes fixed on him.“The future Luna of this pack must be strong,” he announced, his voice deep and unshaken. “Not just in beauty or bloodline, but in mind, strategy, and endurance.”I already knew what he was doing. He wanted to make a spectacle of it, wanted the women fighting for the position to expose themselves—show both their strengths and their flaws.I scanned the line of women standing proudly before him.Lady Vanessa stood in the center, her head held high. Sirella’s Pov I stood before Alpha Donovan, my stance steady, my face blank. The training grounds were empty except for us. The morning sun hung low, casting long shadows across the dirt. I could feel the weight of his gaze, the way he studied me—not just my movements, but my reactions. He had been testing me for days.“Tell me, Sirella,” Donovan said, tossing a wooden training sword between his hands. “What makes a good leader?”I didn’t answer right away. I knew he wasn’t asking for a rehearsed response. He wanted to see how I thought, how I processed things.“Someone who understands people,” I said carefully. “Their strengths, their weaknesses. A leader isn’t the strongest person in the room. They’re the one who knows how to use the strong.”Donovan let out a small hum, stepping closer. “And how would you use me?”I forced my breath to stay steady. “That depends.”“On what?”I tilted my chin up slightly. “On what you want.”A slow smile pulled at his lips. “Good answer.”He moved,

Kieran’s povThe training yard was alive with the sound of swords clanging, the scuff of boots hitting and the men still drowsy-eyed. Barely visible in the rising dust, I padded among them watching. Half these sentinels had grown lazy slapping at each other like bored children rather than soldiers. I couldn’t stand it. Not now. And especially not with war so near.I nodded up and reset my stance. I turned away, my hands clasped behind my back as I took a deep breath. My mind wasn’t only clouded with the training I’d just endured. No, I was also thinking too deeply of Sirella. I hadn’t heard from her since last night, after she’d left me here with Salvatore to face the unknowns of this place alone. Was she alright? Did Donovan find out something that would send him on some manic mission to get us both killed?Suddenly, my phone buzzed from within my pocket. I quickly reached in to grab it and saw her name on the screen. I knew I needed to answer this call in private.Just as I was abo

Sirella’s povPacing around with my heart beating fast, I didn’t know what to do. I knew something had to be done or I would be in serious trouble. That bastard of an alpha needed to be on the battlefield if I was going to be free from whatever shackles he had on me. I needed Kieran to kill him. It was the only way I would be able to free myself. With him back here, everything had changed, it was dangerous now. More than before.I needed to do something as I got out of my room. I didn’t pause as I quickly made my way through the corridors not wanting anyone to see me right now. Two guards stood near the stairs talking in low voices and I immediately turned back around taking the longer route instead. I needed to get to my room first and get my phone out of hiding. I needed Kieran’s voice right now. When I made it to my room I quickly locked the door and pressed myself against it. My hands wouldn’t stop trembling. I crossed over to my desk and took hold of my phone before dialling Kier

Donovan’s povI walked into my throne room that morning. The heavy doors opened as I approached, and a slant of the coming winter sun crossed before me to lay its brightness on the far wall. I looked in that direction without interest or pleasure.Three generals were drawn up there, waiting.“Good morning, Alpha,” they all bowed and said.I walked slowly with my boots tapping on the marble floor. I reached my seat and sat down on my black throne and kept one leg over the other.“Well?” I said, looking at the man to the far left. “Report.”One of my generals, a tall guy with a scar across his chin, stepped forward to speak. “We’ve reached battlefield contact, Alpha. We’ve established our camps. The troops are prepared.”I nodded. “And Salvatore?”“We haven’t seen him yet,” another general said. “But reports say he is close. They are setting their own camps as well.”“Setting camps,” I scoffed. “He might as well be laying his deathbed because I’ll make sure this isn’t like before. I’ll

Sirella’s povI woke up that morning with a burdened heart. My chest felt constricted and my hands were icy, though it wasn’t from the chill. I just had so much on my mind.I wanted so much to talk to Kieran at least once before he would get to the war and start fighting. Already I was missing him, I just needed to hold him even if it was just for a few seconds. He was the only one who could make me feel okay. At least while all this war was going on, I just wanted to know how to go through this tough time without even thinking of the sad times we were going through.I strolled the room, the world beyond the door was hushed, unnaturally so.Something would happen, I could feel it. Deep in my bones I knew something heavy was about to happen. I didn’t know what but I knew that it would be something big.I couldn’t stop the war, but I could be able to help in the little way I could.I looked out of my window to see so many warriors still leaving for the war with Donovan and his son Dami

Authors povThe march had begun.Wolves padded through the forest in a silent train, barely stirring the leaves as they traveled single-file behind their Alpha, Salvatore. The war was upon them. Hot breath streamed from their nostrils making white puffs that hung in the stagnant air. No one spoke, their thoughts too occupied with what was coming.Salvatore was proud of this movement. Minus the last time he had attacked, this would be an official battle that would drive those idiots to the edge and he would have the chance to take them down. He smiled within himself as he knew that there was no use in lying to himself. He would make sure they regretted coming to him for anything. He would destroy them. But Kieran had other plans. He stopped walking and dropped back until he was near the rear of the group. Then he walked up to Salvatore, his voice low.“Alpha, I have to leave. There’s something important I need to do.”Salvatore turned, his eyes narrow slits. He couldn’t believe that h

Kieran’s POVThe cheers in the war room were still ringing in my ears. My face stayed neutral, but inside, I felt sick. They had no idea.None of them did.Not Salvatore. Not his trusted generals. And yet they all clapped for me, thinking I was one of them.I stared at the map again, the valley, the forest… the places I had just mentioned.I was marking death zones — but not for the people they thought.Everything I said in that room would help my allies, not Salvatore’s army.“Excellent idea,” Salvatore said with a slight smirk, standing and clapping my shoulder. “You’re sharp, Kieran. You remind me of myself when I was younger.”I forced a smile.I wanted to punch him.But not yet.Later that NightThe packhouse was quiet, except for the guards at the doors and the distant hoot of an owl. I moved quietly down the hallway, my footsteps light on the stone floors. My room was dark when I entered, just how I liked it. But I didn’t rest. I couldn’t. Not with the war coming.I sat at my d

He was just humoring him.Everyone went on to talk but said nothing important.Meanwhile, in Donovan’s territory...Inside Donovan’s war room, the tension was palpable. There was a large map on the wall.Candles were burning.Donovan sat at the head of the table, his arms crossed.Beside him stood his son, Damien. The war Generals, strong wolves with cold eyes, were around them.“Let’s begin.” Donovan said. One of the generals opened a scroll.“My Alpha,” he said, bowing, “the spies have all returned.“And what did they discover?” Donovan asked quietly. The general pointed at the map.“They found Salvatore’s traps in the forest. They found guards by the river. But they also found a weak spot.”“A weak spot?” Donovan asked, leaning forward.“Yes, here,” the general said and he pointed to

Kieran’s povI snuck out of the barn, as silent as I possibly can as I made my way walking and slightly jogging.I got to the edge of the pack and zipped away with my super speed. The trees blurred by as I moved without holding back.I had to get out of Donovan's land and fast. I ran, and ran until I found myself at the borderlands between my pack's territory.I didn’t stop there either. I kept moving until I saw an old broken-down building far ahead. It was dark and there were no people around, perfect. As I ran, I got a call from someone as I halted and listened to the call. The allies I had sent messages to were at the building waiting for me. Good.I then walked up to the building and I noticed a couple of shadowy figures standing at.They were not moving, their gaze anchored to the shadows.I approached them with stealthy steps. They saw me and relaxed a little. “You made it,” one of them said.“Yeah,” I panted. “I’m here.”“And no one saw you?”“No,” I said. “I’ve been careful.

Sirella’s povI could feel their eyes on me all throughout the day as I got out of my room after having my bath. I knew some of the guards watched and followed me and I knew who had sent them.Even when I went to my room, sometimes I’d hear footsteps outside.I knew they had been sent by Donovan. The trust was gone. He didn't believe me anymore. And he wanted to follow me, to see if I made a mistake.I kept my head low, pretending not to see them.I was careful about everything I did. Finally the day got over. I was sitting in my room on my bed with an open useless book, just pretending to read it.The house was quiet now. Most of the wolves were asleep.Even the guards had relaxed a little, but I knew they were still there, hiding in the dark corners. Then my phone vibrated.I jumped a little.I quickly grabbed it and checked the screen.Kieran.My heart started to race.I opened the message. “I’m at the barn. Come.”I got up slowly, trying not to make any noise. It was risky but I h
