Intruding

“No. Go away.” I said mournfully. Forlorn because despite everything he’d done, there was no one I wanted reassurance from more. It’s ironic that often when someone is hurt, they want comfort from the person that wounded them.

I thought of Lyra Lani but knew that tonight she was probably fleeing as much as I just had or suffering as I had earlier in the night. My chest tightened at the thought of her at someone’s mercy as I had been.
