Charlotte sat silently in Caleb’s car as they drove away from the Dean mansion. The large iron gates slowly closed behind them, cutting off the view of the house that had once defined her entire life.

She didn't look back. Her eyes remained fixed on the road ahead, though she wasn’t truly seeing anything.

The envelope containing the DNA report rested in her lap. Her fingers still held it tightly, as though letting go of it might somehow make the truth disappear.

Caleb kept his focus on the roa

Charlotte moved from one section of the production unit of her company to another with Mr. Goodman, a potential investor, and his son, Yul Goodman. By her right was her personal assistant, Sandra Oliver, jotting down observations and making sure nothing was out of place. The Goodmans had requested to see the heart of the empire that had become the talk of the city, and Charlotte gladly led the tour herself. The production floor buzzed with activity. Machines hummed steadily while workers moved around in uniforms bearing the company’s logo. Boxes of cosmetics were stacked neatly at one side while fashion materials filled another section. The scent of perfume and fresh fabric lingered faintly in the air.Charlotte walked with confidence, her heels clicking lightly against the polished floor. Every worker who passed greeted her respectfully, and she responded with warm nods.As they walked, Charlotte explained the operations of each unit, her voice clear and confident. Mr. Goodman n

Nathan and Jennifer stood together in the living room, their arms wrapped around each other while their lips met in a kiss that tried desperately to hide the widening cracks in their marriage.Little Melina stood nearby watching them carefully. Then suddenly, her tiny giggle filled the room.“Mum, Dad, have you both stopped fighting?” she asked innocently, tilting her small head sideways while hugging her doll against her chest.Jennifer’s eyes widened slightly.Where exactly does this child even learn all these words from? she wondered silently.Nathan slowly bent to Melina’s level and placed both hands gently on her shoulders. His expression softened instantly as he looked into her innocent eyes.“We are a happy family,” he said softly. “And that we will always be.”He leaned forward and kissed her forehead lovingly.“Yeahhhhhhh!” Melina screamed excitedly, throwing both hands into the air like someone who had just won a trophy.Jennifer burst into laughter immediately.Even Nathan

The air inside the living room was stiff and suffocating, thick with tension as Nathan’s furious voice thundered across the walls. He stood in the middle of the room like a man barely holding himself together, his fists clenched tightly at his sides, the veins along his neck visibly raised.“Jennifer, answer me now!” he barked angrily. “Who is the man you’ve been seeing? Don’t stand there and act innocent!”Jennifer stared at him in complete disbelief, her jaw dropping dramatically as she folded her arms over her chest. Her eyes burned with defiance and wounded pride.“What rubbish question is that, Nathan?” she snapped sharply. “You’ve completely lost your mind to even think of such nonsense. Me? Cheating? On you?”A bitter laugh escaped her lips. The sound carried mockery.Disrespect.“This is ridiculous!” she added.Nathan moved closer immediately, his breathing harsh and uneven. His eyes looked wild with betrayal as he pointed accusingly at her.“Stop twisting this around!” he sh

  • May We Never Meet Again   Chapter 185: ...Behind The Perfect Marriage

The living room was quiet, shadows stretching softly across the tiled floor as the evening lights flickered against the walls. The tension Nathan left behind still lingered heavily in the air, almost like smoke after a fire. Charlotte paced slowly in front of the couch while Caleb sat watching her silently, his hands clasped together, his jaw tight with lingering irritation.Nathan had stormed out barely a minute ago. His angry footsteps had echoed through the compound before the violent slam of his car door shook the night. Seconds later, the roar of his engine faded beyond the gates, but somehow his presence still remained.Charlotte finally stopped pacing and turned toward Caleb. Her face carried guilt despite how calm she tried to appear.“I’m sorry for making you feel like this,” she said quietly. “I just wanted to know what that woman had to say. I wanted Jennifer to stop disturbing me once and for all.”Caleb sighed deeply and leaned back properly into the couch. “You should

Nathan, unable to stop himself, moved a step closer. His eyes softened as he gazed at her. “Charlotte… you look so beautiful. You don’t know how glad I am to see you alive, to see you fine. And all you’ve achieved in such a short time. It’s incredible.”The compound lights reflected faintly against his face, revealing emotions he had tried for years to bury. Regret. Longing. Pain.Charlotte stood still beside her car, her expression unreadable. The cold breeze swept past her hair gently, but her eyes remained fixed on him without warmth.“Thank you,” Charlotte replied flatly, her face emotionless. “But you can leave now.”Her response landed like a knife in Nathan’s chest. The little hope he had carried all the way there cracked instantly. Before he could gather another word, Caleb stepped forward immediately, placing himself between them like a solid wall.“You heard her,” Caleb said coldly. “She said leave. Now.”His voice carried authority and warning at the same time.Without hes

The cold night breeze swept across the compound, rustling the leaves of the tall ornamental trees lined beside the driveway. The large mansion stood brightly illuminated against the darkness, yet the atmosphere around it felt anything but calm.Caleb’s chest rose and fell heavily as he glared at Nathan like a man struggling to control the storm inside him.“What are you doing here? Who gave you the permission to come here?” Caleb asked, his voice vibrating with fury as he stepped closer to Nathan. His fists were clenched, his eyes blazing with contempt.Every vein in his body screamed at him to throw a punch. The anger he had bottled up for years pressed violently against his restraint. Just looking at Nathan standing there calmly was enough to make his blood boil.He wanted to smash his face before he even uttered another word. But he held himself back.Nathan stood calmly under the glow of the compound lights, though his shirt was slightly wrinkled from the long drive. His hair loo

Nathan sat on the cold marble floor of his bedroom, his back bent awkwardly against the couch like a man who had given up trying to hold himself together.
