The following morning after the fundraiser, I woke up to a text from Matthew, that was sent an hour ago.
MATTHEW: Good morning beautiful, I have a surprise for you today. I’m going to pick you up and take you to drop Dina off to school. After that, I want to take you somewhere.
ALI: That is so nice of you. Thank you. Where are we going?
After I sent the text, I quickly got a reply back.
MATTHEW: It is a surprise Ali.
ALI: Give me a hint.
MATTHEW: No.
ALI: Come on Matthew.
MATTHEW: No.

She looked just liked her mother, with her long dark brown wavy hair and big dark brown eyes. She smiled and tilted her head, patiently waiting for my answer as she showed me the blue headband in her hand and the blue dress she was currently wearing.I put down my pen and stood up from my chair and walked around my desk, and towards my daughter.
