CHAPTER 17: BURIED
Matt's eyes widened as he took a step back, mouth gaping in disbelief as he stared at the horror in front of him. His brother was staring at him with empty eyes, blood all over his chest, and his still-beating heart not far from where he was lying - lifeless.
Beside him lays Aria. Eyes shut tight, her hands a few inches from Leo's hand, and a dagger embedded in her chest.
But his horror turned to confusion as he saw Leo and Aria standing by his side alive and well, though they have the same horror-stricken expression plastered on their faces.
"What the hell? Mom! Dad!" Aria screamed as she rushed to where Matt could see his brother and Aria's dead body.
"What the hell is going on?" Leo asked.
"Calm down. We need to calm down," Mrs. France said. Ironically, she, herself, couldn't calm down. But she had stopped screaming and finally understood the situation.
