Hearing the voice, Amelia lifted her gaze.

At the door stood a couple with honest, rustic faces, looking travel-worn and carrying large and small bags.

Amelia put down what she was doing. “Yes.”

The woman’s face lit up with excitement. “Then do you know Dr. Cromwell?”

“That’s me. You two are…”

Before Amelia could finish speaking, the woman covered her mouth and burst into tears.

“Amelia, my poor child! Your father and I have finally found you!”

She cried so sorrowfully that she could barely speak.

Neighbors started gathering around.

“What’s going on?”

“Amelia’s biological parents?”

Standing in the center, Amelia’s fingers paused slightly. She looked at the couple again.

The man was tanned from the sun, his expression simple and sincere. “Your mother missed you so much. She was afraid she wouldn’t get to see you, so we traveled overnight.”

“What are you telling the child that for?” The woman tugged at the man, her eyes red with tears.
