I couldn't decide if Amelia was disaster-prone or just plain stupid. Who walks into someone's bedroom without knocking first? And then she had to interrupt us with that loud crash. Just when it was getting good.

"I'm sorry." She said quickly, bending to pick up the broken glasses. She had barely touched them when she snatched her fingers back immediately. I saw blood trickle out of her index finger.

Raven scoffed next to me, straightening her clothes.

"Since when do you hire foolish maids?" She asked me, loud enough for Amelia to hear.

"She's not really my..."

"I'm sorry. I'll get it cleaned right away." Amelia said, interrupting me.

She reached for the broken glasses again, but hissed when they pricked another finger.

"For fuck's sake!" I snapped. "Just go get a maid to clean it up. And you, get lost."

She got up and ran away. I didn't feel bad for yelling. She wasn't a little kid. I mean, who pricks their fingers on broken glass twice in a row?
