Chapter forty-six II (unedited).

I still didn't see the reason why Mike had brought me there, but I was grateful that he had. Especially when Mike set the cute little kid down and handed her a few naira notes to go put up some clothes, but the girl shrug a shoulder in refusal.

"I no want bibe." She offered in explanation and ran towards me with her childish giggles.

I crotched down and let her wrap her hand around my neck, not minding the fact that my white blouse would be stained.

"Bye bye." I giggled when she smacked her lips against my cheeks and took off when she saw Mike closing on her.

The infectious happiness of the cute girl reminded me of my own niece. No one could ever be anything less than happy when these bundles of joy were around. Maybe the carefree nature of this kid was the reason why Mike brought me here. To indirectly advice me to stop being so uptight with worry.

Maybe he was right, maybe I needed to live a little.

Just maybe.
