Around 3:pm that day I got a call from my doctor talking about my schedule, he asked if I was free to come to the hospital or if I was okay with receiving my test result via Email.

I have known Dr Elija even before I got married , so he was more than a friend than just a doctor , from the call he sounded softer and concerned making me wonder when he had started taking the professionalism ethics seriously, I asked repeatedly if he was undergoing work stress and he said he was okay , he only suggested i come to the hospital to get my results and have a consultation too , I guess that was enough hint that something was probably wrong with me but I didn’t think too much about it since I didn’t do a full body scan that could detect issues with kidney , liver ,pancreas issues , cancer or any terminal disease , I had only sent my fluid to the lab .

I got ready and drove my black Mercedes to the hospital not knowing what I was falling into .

Getting to the hospital Elija specifically came to me and asked me to his office making me wonder if our friendship had just disappeared into the thin air .He asked if I was feeling okay and if something was cool with me which I assured him I was then he shifted to my husband which really surprised me because Elija never really like my husband even before I got married to him .

“Uhm we really need your husband to be here “ he said trying not to make the atmosphere too serious .

“ tell me what this is about, do I have cancer? "I said jokingly but he gave me a short lived smile .

“ What is this about Elija? I asked him because I had been through a lot and genuinely believed there was nothing worse than what I had been through .

“ Your result shows you have HIV Cassie “ he said and also talked about how I needed to bring my husband for a test and all .

I was a virgin when I married my husband, during courtship he had adorned me and waited till we got married without too much pressure about premarital sex which made me believe he kept himself too but on our wedding night I found out he was with mutiple girls while we were courting .Driving home I wondered how I ended up with a sexually transmitted disease, the girl who kept her body , who tried to be the best daughter without doing anything wrong became the girl who ruined her life..

what was the need of waking up everyday as a person who would always be on drugs ?? This wasn’t a life I chose or a path I walked on , I couldn’t tell anyone and not even my husband so I packed my car under a tree with my windscreen close then I cried my eyes out in a way I don’t think I have cried before not even those days when I was younger watching my mum get hit and watching her cry about my Dad’s poligamous nature.

“ I have made the same mistake as my mum “ I said out softly as I cried so hard because I thought I had learnt about marriage from my mum . I had kept myself as a virgin not really because I wasn’t a sexual person but because I needed to be with a guy that would wait for me.

I thought that a guy who could date and wait for a virgin in this generation would probably be a man with principles and a man who would never cheat .

Remembering all the things I did , all the sacrifices I made and all the way I curtailed my will while growing up I didn't know I would end up this way .

I screamed and carried inside my car hitting my hands on my staring as if those shouts could reach God or my hands hitting the car could take away the pain in my heart but it didn’t .

So I just stayed there for hours hoping that the pain would go away or an Angel would rewrite the stories of my life and take me back to when I was younger and unmarried but nothing happened. All I felt was silence and the rhythm of my aching heart .

Suddenly I heard a knock on my window screen asking me to wind down which I did and found the police asking why I had parked there for too long .

So I ignited my gear and set my car in motion but it seems it wasn’t just my car that was in motion , my life was in motion and the only place I could go was home , not my parents home but my husband’s house . The same man who has ruined my life all because I was born into a society where women were ordered around , sexed , cheated on and used for child bearing business and I knew my life would have been better if I wasn’t a girl who this society created and raised .

My Meeting with Thelma lasted for Hours , because it seemed like the more we talked the more she perceived me as someone who had suddenly become cynical about marriage but that was far from it , marriage is a good thing but it should be with the right person , I was giving my opinions because I knew Willian’s so well . I needed to make her understand that the term “ marriage “ gives more room for couples to have higher expectations, and many chances to learn so many things about each other that may not have been noticed before .In the course of my marriage I wasn’t the strong woman who never cried or broke down because of a man , it was actually the opposite, the difference was how I carried myself and covered my pains and stress in a different way . Being married to a cheating husband was exhausting. Somehow, I was always the one who felt ashamed of his actions. I worried about what people thought of me, whether they pitied me, and whether they secretly laughed at me for being the

It was a new day in my life as a divorcee who is trying so hard to achieve a lot of things that I would never have achieved as Nate Macdonald's wife.My hangout out with Thelma was scheduled to be by 1:pm and I was already sitting at our usual spot , the same Bistrow cafe that never gets old , Bistrow carries a lot of our memories but that’s not the best part , they make the best velvet cakes for us and for years it’s been our go-to . My instinct had told me earlier that Thelma would always be that type of friend who would claim to be held by traffic on her way to a meeting while she’s probably still at home trying to pick an outfit so I decided to arrive at the venue by 2:pm . It's 2:10 pm and Thelma was nowhere in sight but it didn’t surprise me but I kept looking at my watch anticipating her arrival soon . I sat by the window, sipping my coffee while scrolling through my phone, when I noticed a group of ladies at the far end of the cafe stealing glances at me. They kept whisperin

As a free woman , I am in the best position to be an activist for women’s rights , but before going fully into that , I wanted to increase my restaurant, when I was still married , I had less time to go to my restaurant and most of the time I avoided going there whenever I had a wound from my husbands beating or whenever I was emotionally down . Other days I spent my hours there , trying new recipes and overseeing the affairs of the management. I never had the opportunity to dream bigger about it , and even when brands called for deals I was mostly tied down by marriage affairs . It was around 11:am when I finally figured out what my starting point should be , so I set my camera ,tapped the record button, took a deep breath, and forced a small smile."Hello, everyone. It's been a really long time.but I paused, glancing at the screen before continuing."I know a lot of you have been asking questions about my marriage, especially since the news of my divorce became public. Some of you

I woke up with an aching head , slowly opened my eyes and realized I was in a hospital, immediately my sister screamed “ She is Awake !!” I turned and saw her, she moved towards me and hugged me so tight that I started feeling so much pain from the soreness of my body .“ It hurts “ I said with my voice muffled while I still tried to figure out what was going on I looked around the hospital room and immediately knew it was Elijah’s hospital, .Then slowly it dawned on me that I wasn’t back in time - on my wedding night , I was at the present day , the day I had fought and stabbed my husband.seeing how there were food items , clothes and extra mattress I knew I had been there for more than two days .My sister told me how she called me severally after I got off from the phone but he couldn’t reach me , she rushed over to my house and then found a lady in the house who had just called an ambulance, thankfully my husband and I were still breathing , she decided to take us to Elijah’s

I had imagined my wedding night would be nothing but blissful, I have had day- dreams about the day I will have sex for the first time and most importantly the day the love of my life would make love to me , especially as married couples. It was around 9pm that day , The dinner party had finally come to an end. After hours of laughter, champagne, music, and endless congratulations, my husband and I finally stepped out of the grand hotel, hand in hand. The night air felt cool against my skin as we made our way toward the sleek black Rolls-Royce Phantom waiting for us outside. He opened the door for me, and I slipped into the back seat, lifting the hem of my wedding dress carefully. A few seconds later, he joined me, and the car pulled smoothly into the night.I rested my head against his shoulder as the city lights passed outside the window. For the first time all day, there were no cameras, no guests, no music, and no voices calling our names. When we finally arrived at our apartment,
