Chapter4.1

Monday finally came around, and I was glad that I could get away from Jason to hang with the girls. I quickly got out of bed and went to take a shower, though my eyes never once drifted towards the mirror. I was scared, I knew what I would see. Hand prints and finger shaped bruises, all over. I didn't even want to look at my face, but once I had on my clothes I knew I would have to.

The hand print would have to be covered up so no one would know what happened. No on could know that Jason almost lost his Kick-boxing match, and tried to blame me so he wouldn't feel guilt when he took his anger out on me. They couldn't know that I had gotten yet another letter from Tyler... Though Jason had ripped it up and burned it before I got the chance to read it, then taught me another lesson for it. He wasn't mad because I was still getting letters, but because to him it means that I was still sending them out. I couldn't let anyone know this, especially the twins.

They couldn't know one single little detail of it.

My eyes met my reflection, and I tried not to flinch. It was not as bad as I thought, but it was still bad enough. The right side of my face was red with a slight purple tint to it, with finger print bruises along my jawline and trailing down my throat. I was thankful Jason didn't break anything last night, it's nearly impossible to cover up bruises and swelling from a broken nose or black eye. Last time that happened I had to cancel any plans I had till it healed. I even missed my college classes, I told them I was sick and they let me work from home.

I looked at the rest of my exposed skin, not covered by the flimsy white tank top I was wearing, and saw bruises in the shape of finger prints along my biceps and wrists. It seemed like hours had gone by from me examining the art Jason painted on me last night, but it had merely been a minute.

I sighed and reached for my heavy concealer, it was the brand movie actresses used to cover up tattoos while filming, knowing it would be that kind of day. I carefully applied a foundation, making sure to even cover the ones on my arms just in case, as well as the bruise on my stomach. Then finished off my makeup to make it look more natural. My eyes glanced over my work to make sure I didn't miss anything, then I threw on my flannel and let my hair down.

I didn't glance back again even though I knew nothing would be visible, then grabbed my bag and purse and left the house, glad to have time away from Jason finally.

On my way! See you there :) Xoxo -D

I quickly sent a text to the twins, then hopped in my car. When I was about halfway there I hit a stop light and pulled my phone out check since I was stopped.

All right girl!! see you shortly! P.s don't forget shopping shoes!!;) -C

Yay! see ya here soon! Can't wait to see the new T.C movie. *squeal* lol -J

I shook my head at their text and quickly put my phone away, seeing their texts had finally put a smile on my face for the day.

When I finally made it to their house, I could barely get out of the car before they came running out of the house, screaming and squealing. I quickly threw my purse in the seat before they could tackle me to the ground. And sure enough, as soon as it hit the seat I was attacked by the both of them into a hug, both of them jumping up and down with giddiness. Though the pressure on my bruises hurt, their enthusiasm brought a smile to my face.

"Girls night!!"

"This is going to be so much fun!!"

"Shopping!"

"And Tom Cruise!" Both the twins started to squeal by my ears as they were jumping and hugging me.

"Can't. Breath. Guy's," I choked out dramatically. They let go of me at the same time and gave me the same sheepish smile.

"Sorry," one twin started. "We are just so excited!" the other twin said. "We haven't done a girls night in forever!" they said the last part together.

If it wasn't for the fact that one twin has Green eyes and the other has Brown, you would probably never be able to tell them apart, except the little things in their personality every now and then. They are the same height, and they even used to have the same blonde hair till Jamie decided on a whim to dye her's red. They even have the same taste in clothes.

"So, we ready to go?"

"Yeah! Let's just drop off your stuff in the house and then we can leave!!" Jamie said. She helped me grabbed my bags from the trunk, then ran into the house while Carrie went in and got their purses.

"All right, let's go!" the said, coming out at the same time.

I laughed and got back in my car. It had a middle seat even, so they were both able to sit up front. They tend to never sit separately unless it's absolutely necessary, even if they had to leave me to sit in the front by myself they would still sit together.

"So, did you hear about the party this weekend?" Jamie asked me with a giddy smile on her face.

"What party?" I furrowed my eyebrows at her. The twins always tried to get me to go to parties with them, though I never went. Not because I didn't like parties but because of Jason's so controlling and possessive, he thinks that because I met him at a party, that I'll meet someone else and leave him... even if I went with him.

"Apparently there's a party at Damien's house, we ran into him again yesterday, he told us about it and invited us, then he told us to invite you too." Carrie said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"Yeah, he even said you could bring your boyfriend if you wanted, but he really want's you to be there" Jamie added, a smirk on her face.

"Well, I'll have to talk to Jason about it. But I'll see if I can go," I gave them my most convincing smile.

"Why wouldn't he want to come?" Jamie asked.

"He might have practice or something going on that night," I told them, telling them the first excuse that came to mind. "But I'll still see if we... or I can go" I added even though I knew there would be no chance of me going there without Jason.

They squealed in excitement as we pulled into the mall's parking lot, and as soon as I stopped the car they practically jumped out a moving car, racing for the door. I sometimes swear that these girls have an unhealthy addiction to shopping. When they saw I was walking a little slower than them, they grabbed my wrists and started to tug me along so I could keep pace with them.

After about four hours and eight different stores, we finally took a break and headed to the food court. Both girls had at least six shopping bags each, while I only have my two little ones, not wanting to buy much. After we dropped our bags off in the holding area, we grabbed our food and the first available booth.

"So, where to next?" They twins asked me at the same time.

"Um, I don't know... you decide." I shrugged my shoulders, not caring where.

"Oh, I know! We could go to that new dress store on the other side near Macy's!" Carrie suggested, looking at her twin.

"Yeah! Then we can get new outfits for the party Friday, good thinking Sis!" Jamie smiled widely the idea.

"A dress?" I asked, looking at them incredulously. They know I hate wearing dresses, so why would they want me to get a dress? Or better yet, even try on a dress?

"Yeah! You don't wear them that often. Besides, You don't go to that many parties either!" Jamie said in a 'duh' tone.

"This could be our only chance of the year to see you in a dress, and you got the body for it girl! You need to flaunt it!" I raised an eyebrow at her. "At least every now and again, I didn't mean all the time." she added quickly.

"Fine..." I said after a minute of thinking it over, "I'm about to say words that I never thought would be coming out of my mouth... Let's go dress shopping." I smiled at them as their faces lit up, squealing and bouncing in their seats. They didn't even let me finish my food because they were that excited, they just tugged me up from table and towards a dress shop.

As we entered, I mentally cringed at how many dresses there were and the thought of how many the twins would make me try on. As I watched them start their way down isles and isles of dresses, I slowly snooped around the shop by myself, looking for one that would catch my eye.

I saw a blue one and picked it up, scanning over it I decided that it looked okay. It was sundress style and had a box cut neckline, the hem came just above the knees.

I nodded my head and decided to hold onto it, then I looked a little more and saw a green dress. It had a v-neckline and was tight fitted instead of flow-y like the last one. Satisfied with these two dresses, I went and found the twins. When I came up to them though, they immediately dumped at least fifteen dresses into my arms. My eyes widened, and I looked at the twins like they were crazy.

"Oh, hush up. You're trying all of them on, and that's final. Now let's get you to the dressing room," They both grinned at me with mischievous smiles and evil glints in their eye's.

I got pushed into a dressing room and ordered to start trying all the dresses on, while they tried on some dresses I didn't even see them carrying with them, Though I was too focused, at the time, on what they had dumped into my arms.

I sighed and looked at the pile of dresses I had to try on in front of me, then decided to start with the dresses I picked out first. I picked up the blue one and tried it on, then immediately cringed at the sight of me in a dress.

"Do you have one on yet?" "let us see!" they said, I came out of the changing room and they looked me over. "Not bad... but I don't remember picking this one out." Carrie said thoughtfully, cocking her head to the side as she looked at it.

"Me either sis. This one's a No, go try the others." Jamie ordered after thinking it over, then pushed me into the dressing room once more.

I sighed as the door shut behind me, took off the dress and picked the next one off the top of the pile, putting it on instead. I did not even want to try on the other one I picked out, knowing it will get the same reaction. When I came out they looked me over and slightly nodded.

"Better, but not the one,"

"I agree, try on another one." they both agreed, as usual.

I rolled my eyes but went back into the stall. I decided to shuffle through the dresses and pick a one at random, my hand grabbed the piece of fabric and I tugged it out, put it on, then went out without even looking at my reflection. The twins looked at me, and their eyes widened, both gasping simultaneously and smiled.

"This is the one," Carrie said squealing. "Don't even bother trying on the other dresses!"

"Absolutely! Its perfect" Jamie started jumping up and down, clapping her hands happily.

I turned around to face the mirror, wondering just how good it could actually look. I caught my reflection and I myself gasped, this dress really was perfect. It's silver rhinestones on the top Bodice with a heart shape neckline and dipped down into a v-line in the back, stopping halfway down my back where a red silky ribbon tied around the waist. The bottom was a flow-y red mesh that came down to mid thigh, with just a slight amount of ruffles.

"See girl, it's perfect. This... Is the dress you're getting."Jamie smiled brightly at me.

After another thirty minutes of dress shopping, this time for the twins, we finally all had dresses and decided to drop our bags off so we could go see our movie. As we headed to the ticket counter, I expected to see on of the usual high school kids that always work here but was surprised when I instead saw a familiar face.

"Well, if it isn't Military's Girl! How have ya been?" asked Matt, another one of Ty's friends who he used to hang out with all the time, and was also on the football team.

"Good, good... How's college in Cali been treating you?" I asked him, then what he called me clicked in my head, "And again with the Military's Girl thing?" I rolled my eyes. He didn't bother with my last question, just acted like I never said it.

"It's been good, how about you? Still making all A's?" He smirked at me. Him and Damien always used to tease me a little about my good grades, though it was never mean, just playful teasing.

"Yep, I wouldn't be me if I didn't make all A's." I laughed. "Anyway, what are you doing back from Cali in the middle of the school year?"

"You know that's right." He chuckled, "And I've been done, it's just taken this long for me to move back." He shrugged his shoulders. "So what can I get for you lovely ladies today?" he smiled widely in Carrie's direction.

"Three for that new Tom Cruise movie," Jamie spoke up. I looked over to her and saw her twirling her hair, though I knew she wasn't flirting with Matt. No sir, She was day dreaming about Tom Cruise.

"There ya go," He passes us our tickets. "so, are you going to the party Friday?" he asked before we walked off.

"I might be, we'll see." I shrugged. I didn't really know what the answer to that question would be, though I was hoping for the best for when I do ask.

"You should definitely come, it would be a crying shame if ya didn't," He smiled, a hidden glint in his eyes.

"I'll try then, don't want anyone crying over me." I rolled my eyes as we walked away and wondered why everyone was insisting that I need to go to that party.

"See ya Friday then!" Matt called out, I turned back with a small wave and saw him smirking, though I just ignored it and went into the movies with the twins who were skipping in front of me happily.
