“I can do it,” I muttered as I looked at Letty through the mirror in front of me. She combs my hair up to my shoulders.
Letty stopped and then looked me back at the mirror, “It’s the master’s order,” then she continues.
I sigh. I’m not a little girl to have someone accompany me on doing everything. They already helped me take a bath, and right now, only a towel covering my body. What else? Maybe by getting myself dressed, they will even help me do that.
I just sighed and then let her do the thing. I stare at the mirror. Letty’s an aged woman. Probably at the age of sixty’s? I can’t explain. There are some wrinkles on her hands, and they are hanging as she combs my hair.
But when you took a peek at her face, you can see the beauty in it. Actually, there’s also a tiny spot of wrinkles above her nose and under her eyes. I don’t know, but she has this morena color. Something like mixed with white and brown. It was attractive, honestly.
“You should stay put until the master comes,” she suddenly said and then put down the comb on the table below the mirror. She turned her back from me. I looked at her. I noticed that she’s not like other aged women.
Mainly at this age, there will be difficulties walking or even standing upright, but Letty just moves freely like she’s a teenager.
I remembered the last words from Elliott earlier before that maid Thraia interrupted us and brings me to Letty. I know that my hunch is true, most of it. But I didn’t expect Elliott’s reaction when he said those things to me.
There’s something in his voice, a hidden fear. When I looked at him, he became suddenly pale. I wanted to ask more about what he means, but then, that’s when Thraia entered the scene.
I was left by the words “Reign is more ruthless than a devil,” it keeps on repeating in my head, but my eagerness to leave this place was my priority. I don’t care if he’s a devil or a merciless person. I just want to get out of here.
“I’m not persistent enough to wait for your said master. Why would you take orders from that man? Yes, you all need to obey him since he’s your master. You work for him. But I’m not one of his vision that needs to take his orders, and there’s nothing that can stop me from leaving this place,” I calmly said. I don’t know why. For the second time, I just found myself arguing.
I saw how Letty’s shoulder moved, taking a deep breath. She turned in my direction then a warning flashed in her eyes.
“I bet you won’t like it if you’ll gonna escape from here. Also, no one can skip the master’s arms. He’s the absolute ruler of this place,” she then turned around and starts walking. I don’t get what she’s implying, but I know that she’s leaving.
“Where are you going?” I asked, then stands from seating. She just ignored me and then opened the double door in front of her. I forget to notice that we are in this room full of shiny closets and a very spacious place that’s only good for getting dressed or changing clothes.
I know that the master of this home is rich as a duck who poof golds and Reign. I already witnessed one of his hidden personalities, but does it need to offer that every door needs to be huge and doubled?
I was about to take a step when I saw the maids lined up behind the door. When they saw who opened the door, they bowed their heads. I forgot to mention that Letty is the head of the maids, according to Thraia, and she’s the closest successor of Letty’s dismissal.
What a blunt and luxurious term of the successor, “Dress her up and don’t forget the daily routine until the master comes home. Remember the master’s orders if you still want to breathe. Don’t make any mistakes,” Letty commanded.
“Yes, madam,” the maids answered in a synchronized manner. Then after Letty heard them, she walks in between the lined maids.
“Don’t make a mess. Hold your minds,” the maids nodded and bowed their heads till Letty was gone on our sight along with Thraia. I never noticed her not until Letty called her name.
I sighed when the maids starting to enter the room. After they entered, they closed the door. They lined up in front of me without raising their heads.
“You can raise your heads. I’m not someone who has something to do with you, so rest assured and raise your head,” I said, but they didn’t listen.
“It’s the master’s order to treat you as the woman of this home. We can’t do what you want, Miss,” the woman on the first line wearing a black dress said. Well, all of them was wearing a black dress. Except for Letty, she’s wearing a white dress with black laces on the hips.
Master’s orders are everywhere. I guess it’s hard to find someone who can help me get myself out of here. All of these people were attached to that Reign’s order. Is he really someone, as Elliott mentioned? I can actually tell that these maids feared their own master.
One of the women in the back moved and walks towards the doubled shiny closet. She opened it and then stare inside, picking something that’ll suit me. She then turned in our direction. There’s a puzzled look all over her face. She walks until she reached my direction.
Bowing her head then ask, “Would you like to choose a dress for yourself, Miss? I don’t know what suits your taste,” there’s a careful in her tone. I don’t know what to react.
I’m not someone to be cared for like this. I don’t have the position to do so because I’m just like these maids. I can see myself by looking at them. I really wanted them to act naturally because I don’t have the right to act highly either.
What’s on Reign’s mind? I don’t know him. He buys me on that auction, yes. But what’s his plan? Telling his maids that treat me as the woman of his own home. Is he insane?
I never wanted to be here. I just wanted to get myself out of that auction, know who’s behind this, and why I got abducted. Only one thing was inside my mind from the moment I opened my eyes, and that is, thinking of a way to get out of here.
If no one can help me, then I’ll help myself. Elliott said that he’ll be accompanying me for the rest of the week. So, there’s a week before Reign comes home. My goal is before one week before he comes home, I’m not on his turf anymore.
WARNING: Mature content ahead!—Three years later...“Congratulations, my love for passing the Nursing Licensure Examination.”Reign’s introduction as I set my foot inside our house. Two years ago, Reign and I decided to build our own home. Of course, I insist that I will share the expenses since I still have my savings for Russiana’s operation. Reign paid all the fees three years ago at the hospital without me knowing.I looked at my wristwatch and turned back my eyes to him, “It’s already late. Why are you still awake?” I said as I walked inside our room while passing Reign.“I’m waiting for you, my love.”“You don’t have many things to do in the Clan?” Reign shrugged. Reign was attractive with his tiny beards. It’s making my heart thump like in a
“Where are you?” Reign asked from the other line while my phone was in between my ear and my shoulder. I was currently at a Department Store, holding two paper bags. “I’m at a store.” “What store?” “It’s a secret.” “Ruchee.” “I’m doing an important thing. Gotta go. See you later; I love you.” I did not wait for Reign’s response and immediately turned off the phone, so he couldn’t contact and disturb me later. I might spill out everything I have of my plan. I sigh and then looked at the saleslady in front of me. “Would you like to make that on our special room, ma’am?” I nodded then smiled at the saleslady. “That would be great.” After she showed me and take me to the room she’s talking about, the saleslady left. There are some people inside the room, and when I
“Oh, stop that, sweety. You just had surgery last week, and you need to take a rest for the whole three months.”I muttered when Russiana pulled her things out from the bag, “But I want to study, Ruru,” she sadly said. Is sigh and sat on matching her height. I reached for her cheeks and gently cupped them as I stared at her eyes.“There’s a time for that, okay? Ruru already asked your teacher about your leave of absence for five months. They agreed because of your health issues. Do you want me to get mad at you?” Russiana shrugged her head gently, “That’s good, then listen to Ruru, okay?” she nodded. I brought my lips to her forehead and planted a kiss in there. After Russiana put her things back inside the bag, we got out of her room. I looked at her as I hold her tiny hands. I can’t stop smiling, and my heart was now at rest from being
“Do you like this?”“No.”“How about this?”“Not either. I don’t like strawberries.”“Chocolate?”“Sort of. Maybe that’ll work.”“Okay. Just wait for a second, and I will put some chocolate ice cream in a bowl.”I nodded then Reign walks out from my sight. I let out a deep sigh. It’s been three days since the incident happen where I almost lost my life again on Sharmon’s hands and was saved by Reign. After that night, Reign told his men to find Sharmon, but she’s already gone in the City. They tracked her and got the information that she already flees out to foreign countries. Reign wanted to follow Sharmon with his connections, but I stopped him.Since she’s already
Reign cupped my cheeks as he was holding a gun. Our body was wet, and he gently sat on the ground while carrying me in his arms, making my body lying on his lap.“I’m sorry.”Reign said while sticking our wet forehead together. I did answer because my body is weak, and I want to recover my fallen energy. He hugged me tight, making me facing his neck.“I almost come late. Thank God,” he then kissed my forehead as he caressed my hair.“How did you find me?” Reign stared at me with worried eyes.“I tracked your phone,” he then caresses my cheeks, “Thank you for calling.”I no longer spoke, closing my eyes while in his arms. My body weakened. All I want to do right now is fall into Reign’s arms. I feel safe and secured. He gave me this feeling that I can rest my mind b
My heart was throbbing fast, and I can feel how my head throbs reluctantly because of Sharmon’s tight grip and pulling. Yes. The one who was following is Sharmon. I tried to struggle, hoping that I can break free from her hands, but I failed. I think Sharmon’s strength doubled from the last time she wanted to kill me. “Finally. I’m holding your life again, biatch.” She said as she put all her force on grabbing and pushing me to the ground. My body hits on floor, giving me pain in my back and nape. I tried to stand, but I think the bones on my legs were affected. It was in excruciating pain that made me groan secretly. I was too tired at the Bar earlier because there are many customers to serve; that’s why my body was doubled in pain. Sharmon took her steps to me and stomped me with all her might. I feel like everything I ate went up. “This is wha
It’s been four days since Reign and I have our last talk. As I said, he did not show his face in front of me; instead, he sends the twins to the apartment. I didn’t refuse because they were already there when I came home from work three days ago. I also didn’t expect them to take a room next to us.For the past few days, I tried not to think about Reign, but I failed. Everything I do reminds me of him. I no longer feel angry with him, but my chest aches. Maybe because of what I found out.Honestly, I’m not really displeased. I was just too surprised. I wanted to see Reign talk to him and hug him, but first, I had to consider whether I could face and listen to Reign’s admission.I sigh and cast out every thought I have and started walking out of the Nursing Laboratory. Since it’s Wednesday, we just finished our laboratory performing how to extract blood from a patient.
“Are you sick, Ruru?” Russiana asked behind me. I was lying on the bed while covered with a blanket.“No, I’m fine, sweety.”“Are you sure? Your voice is hoarse, Ruru. You sound like an old woman.”“No, don’t come near Ruru. I’m having a cold. You might catch it,” I reasoned when I felt Russiana take her body to the bed where I was lying on. I don’t want her to see my face. It was already swollen with tears last night.Fortunately, Russiana was asleep with Thraia, so they didn’t notice my sudden arrival. When I remembered what happened last night, I couldn’t help but cry. I immediately restrained myself because my sister might hear my soft sobs.“Okay. I will ask Thraia to make a soup for you.”“Thank you, sweety,” I felt my little sister&rs
“How did you know about this place?” I asked Reign with amusement as I was cutting the beefsteak on my plate. He just smiled, and he fills his mouth while looking at me. I just shrugged my head. He’s been staring since we seated at this table.“It’s a recommendation from Gab. I rent the whole place so that we can have our privacy. Did you like it?”My jaw dropped because of how he casually said rent, but I just nodded while casting out that shocked expression of mine, “Yes. I love it. I did not expect that this place existed.”“I should give Gab a pat on the head.”“Why?”“Because you liked the place.”We’ve talked about a lot of things while spending dinner alone together. I asked Reign about what I was curious about, but there’s one thing I can’t spil
