Chapter 42: Mr. Persistent
“You want me to go?” He asked me.
“Yes, far far away from me.” I saw a flash of pain in Alexander’s eyes but in my complete rage of anger, I ignored it completely. I only focused on evening out my breathing.
Alexander only stood in front of me for long moments, staring into my eyes. It hurt me to look at him, but I didn’t give in. “Come out for dinner with me tonight.” He said, completely surprising me.
I looked at him as if he completely lost it. “Are you for real right now?” I asked him, not hiding my growing anger. I leveled him with my gaze but he didn’t back down. He even lifted his head higher. I smiled a fake, huge smile, filled with sarcasm. “What game are you playing now, Alex?” I asked him tiredly.

I woke up more tired than I went to bed last night, it seemed. But I didn’t sleep well and my dreams weren’t pleasant at all. Even though I was wrapped around Alexander he was holding me tight to his chest.I still woke up at midnight, screaming out, catching my breath, my face wet from tears and sweat.I panicked even more when I couldn’t sit up in bed to catch my breath because it felt like someone’s holding my throat in a chokehold.I forgot where I was for a moment and who was with me because all I knew was that I had to get out of the tight hold that I couldn’t move my body out of & get some fresh air or maybe some water. But Alexander startled up, waking with a panic; “Bell?” had my heart race increasing for a moment and then slowing down slowly.I thrust my fingers into the mess of my hair and a loud sob escaped me while the tears that never stopped falling since that nightmare I had, started falling even faster, rolling down my already wet cheeks.
