"Ah!" The female paramedic who was about to bandage me screamed and jumped away. Beside her, the other paramedics backed away from me as well. They had left in a hurry and had not prepared the proper equipment to conduct safety precautions.

Paramedics were humans as well, and they could not risk their lives in such situations. "What if she really does have AIDS? We can't take care of her injury without precautions. We have to take her to the hospital first."

I was filled with pain, hate, and despair, and all these negative emotions were suffocating me. How could my mother do something like this to her daughter?

I was her daughter too. I begged her in my heart not to say that about me, and not to destroy my dignity that way in public. I reached out to her, trying to hold her. If only… If only she could hug me. I was already in so much pain…

However, all she did was slap my hand away coldly. "You slept around but refuse to admit it, and still insist on playing the pity card. Do you think I'll go soft on you just because of this? Sharon was kneeling on the floor, begging my mother incessantly, "I was wrong, Mom. I admit my mistakes. I promise to be a good girl and listen to you. Please tell the paramedics that Sherry doesn't have AIDS!"

My mother's heart softened, and she turned on her AI again. "Has Sharon finally learned from her mistakes?"

This time, the AI took longer to compute. "Hmm… I think it has finally sunk into Sharon that she was wrong. She will probably never commit the same mistake again."

At this point, my mother finally nodded in satisfaction and was almost crying with happiness. "It's good that you know what you did wrong. That's my good girl."
