“Doctor, how is she? My wife?”

“I asked how my wife is?”

“Calm down, sir.”

“Don't ask me to calm down, dammit,” he ran his hands through his hair in frustration. His hand pulled at his hair and he almost hit the doctor when he came and held his shoulders. He wasn't going to listen to anyone even though everyone was screaming at him to calm the hell down.

“Jared, let's hear what the doctor has to say. Stop acting this way,” Izabelle complained.

“No…no,” his back traced the wall downwards and his butt landed on the floor, his hands on his head. Was he ready for what the doctor had to say? No, of course. He wasn't ready for that. That can't be.

Before anyone could say anything, the door of the emergency room pushed open and the nurses wheeled the bed with Kathie on it. Her eyes were closed and she was looking as pale as ever. No one has ever seen her that pale. A nurse walked over to the grandfather and took the now-sleeping baby from him.
