Something jolted me awake with a start. I rose from my dream with a throbbing headache. My chest felt tight, my breath came in gasps, and my eyes fluttered open several times. Once my vision had fully returned, the first thing I saw was the bandage wrapped around my leg.

“Miss, you shouldn’t sit up so suddenly!”

The melodious voice I heard belonged to Liora. She rushed over to me, placing a pillow at the head of the bed and helping me lean against it.

“Your head will hurt if you suddenly sit up after being unconscious for a full day,” she said, but her words didn’t bother me. Instead, the corners of my lips turned up in a smile.

Wait.

“A full day?!” I repeated, my eyes widening.

Liora nodded. “Yes, you were unconscious for a full day. Sir, I, and the servants were very worried about you being unconscious. The rogues involved in yesterday’s attack were beheaded by the master, and their heads were displayed as decorations in the pack’s square.”

A cold towel gently touched my face and slowly slid down to my neck. The movement stopped when I held her hand.

“Where is Father?”

Liora tilted her head in confusion. “Sir? Of course he’s in his office right now.”

I pushed aside the blanket and hurriedly stood up. As I was about to take my first step, Liora quickly reached out her hand to stop me.

“Miss, you’ve just regained consciousness.”

I shook my head. “I’m fine now, and there’s something important I need to ask my father. Please, let me through.”

Liora withdrew her hand with a long sigh. The next moment, I took a wide step forward, ignoring the wound on my leg that might reopen.

The door swung open forcefully, echoing throughout the room. My eyes met my father’s. He hurriedly stood up and ran towards me. His right hand was raised in a gesture. After that, his trusted secretary exited after bowing.

“Why did you run here? If I had heard you had regained consciousness, I would have come to you myself.” My father’s hands were busy wiping the sweat from my face with a handkerchief.

“Father, where is Alpha Aric?”

I could sense the tension on his face. “Why are you looking for him, dear? He’s not someone you can just meet.”

Well, of course. Not many people know his face, but who doesn’t know his name?

Alpha Aric, the Alpha of the Silvergrove pack, possesses extraordinary military strength and a vast pack territory. Not only that, news of the pack’s prosperity and strict discipline had spread far and wide. All of that happened under Alpha Aric’s leadership.

Alpha Aric, renowned for his unmatched strength, was certainly not someone anyone could just meet. Then why did someone like that save me in my first life and also during yesterday’s attack?

My father looked at me, lost in thought, before gently patting my shoulder. “He’s been gone for a long time. Don’t worry, I’ve thanked him many times.”

My eyebrows drooped weakly, the sparkle in my eyes dimmed, and my heart was now filled with unease.

I was saved twice, even though he doesn't remember the first time, so of course I should express my gratitude directly. I also need to satisfy the questions swirling in my head.

"Alright, I understand," I replied casually.

So, first things first. Let's gather all the information about my savior!

The few lines of information I currently have are obviously insufficient. I need more information to be able to meet him again.

I turned to head to my office, but my father’s hand stopped me. “Please rest for today. Don’t do anything.”

I followed my father’s gaze. There, the colour of the bandage on my leg had turned blood red.

“Alright, Father. I’ll do it,” I replied resignedly.

That annoying curse! It had taken away the speed of my healing ability, leaving me constantly struggling when injured.

I must break free from this curse soon.

Piles of documents were scattered across the table, some of them even falling to the floor, crushed by a thick book filled with inter-pack trade reports. My hands never stopped turning the pages, while my other fingers hurriedly took notes.

Alpha Aric, Thane Aric Wolfborne, names that had stuck in my head like sticky resin.

One book lay open, displaying a map of the Silvergrove Pack with territorial boundaries far broader than I had anticipated. Even larger than what I had heard so far. The territory had been expanded not only through warfare but also through diplomacy. And the most striking thing from all the reports I had read… he did not have a Luna.

I sighed. All of this wasn’t enough.

“I need information from outside,” I murmured softly.

As if answering my thoughts, a soft knock sounded at the door. One of my trusted guards entered after I invited him in. He brought several additional sheets I had previously requested from the informant network.

“Here’s what you asked for, Miss,” he said, handing over a folder containing cross-territory surveillance reports.

“Thank you. Any new news?”

He shook his head with a weary expression. “Information about him is very limited. Even the Alphas from other packs struggle to gain access to meet him directly.”

I massaged my temples. “Alright. You may return to your post.”

Their economy is booming.

Their territory has expanded.

And most intriguingly, there’s been almost no word of internal conflict.

Someone who can maintain such stability isn’t an ordinary leader.

“I never expected my savior to be such an extraordinary Alpha. If this is the case, how can I meet him?” I roughly ran my hands through my hair. There’s no information that can bridge our meeting.

I leaned my stiff neck fully against the headrest of the chair. “Sooner or later, we will meet. I will make it happen.”

The evening breeze swept across my face as I walked along the path leading to the forest. The sky began to fade from blue to orange, illuminating the gently swaying leaves above my head. My steps were steady, though my body had not yet fully recovered from the previous incident.

The sound of footsteps and faint shouts of instructions began to echo from the training area. A faint smile appeared on my face. It had been too long since I last felt that atmosphere. My body craved the sensation of training, and my mind needed a little release to avoid drowning in an endless search.

But my steps suddenly halted.

In the middle of the narrow path I was about to cross, someone was standing there waiting for me. A slender silhouette with blonde hair flowing down to her waist, her body almost motionless, as if she had become part of the shadows of the tall trees around her.

Seraphyne.

I rolled my eyes lazily. “Are you going to keep standing there, Miss Seraphyne?”

She turned with a feigned look of surprise. “Oh no, am I blocking your path, Miss Lyara?”

Her intense gaze made my hands itch to punch her.

“It never crossed my mind that you would come to the training ground. I apologise for being so short-sighted. How foolish of me to forget your position as the daughter of the pack’s warrior leader” she continued, gently tapping her forehead.

How could you not even greet the training ground? Have you forgotten your duty to train with the warriors? You should know your position as the daughter of the pack’s warrior leader!

That’s what she wanted to say.

Seraphyne, the woman who polished herself like a saint who knew no sin. Behind the scenes, she was busy hiding her fangs and long tongue like a venomous snake.

“Yes, I accept your apology. Now, step aside and let me pass.” Frustration was written all over my face.

“What if I keep blocking your path from now on?” she said with a smirk.

The hall of Fanghart Palace, which moments ago had been breathing in rhythm with music and laughter, now seemed to hold its breath in unison. Since my body had grown weak in the embrace of the Alpha King, the Alpha King's aura radiated unchecked—an invisible wave pressing down on the chest of everyone in the room. The pressure was like a tidal wave: chairs creaked softly, servants knelt with heads bowed, and even the Alphas tensed, jaws clenched against an intensity they rarely—almost never—felt. “Everyone step back.” The Alpha King’s voice was heavy, sharp, leaving no room for negotiation. “No one approach.” That aura—which to others looked like a flash of lightning—felt on my skin like a blanket spread out in panic. The Alpha King held the world back with both hands so it wouldn’t touch me. I understood. Because behind all the titles, behind all the oaths, his fear was simple: loss. Luna Meyra crouched beside me, staring at me through the curtain of her hair. “Luna Lyara, hear my

Music echoed through the grand hall of Fanghart Palace that evening—not merely as entertainment, but as a sign that the world refused to sink into grief. Crystal chandeliers cast a golden glow that reflected off the marble walls, while the polished stone floor reflected the shadows of guests passing by. In the air, the aroma of baked bread, warm herbs, and young wine mingled with the scent of flowers arranged in tall vases. From the upper balconies, long blue and silver fabrics hung like trails of light. Outside the walls, each pack held celebrations in their own territories: bonfires burned in the squares, drums were beaten late into the night, and children danced with ribbons in their hair. But the center of it all was here, in the hall of Fanghart Castle—where the Alphas and Lunas gathered, toasted, and renewed their old vows. This night is called by many as the night of justice, and also the night of victory. I step into the hall with Aric’s hand gripping mine tightly; the greeti

That morning, the sky over the Fanghart palace was still gray, as if sharing in the heart-wrenching grief of everyone gathered in the special cemetery near the palace. Dew still clung to the grass, but the scent of damp earth could not mask the bitter reality: five hundred souls had fallen. A small pack had vanished overnight—nothing remained but the names that would be remembered. I stood among the long rows, dressed in simple black attire. Beside me, Alpha King stood tall, his face showing little emotion, but I knew his chest was as heavy as mine. A long whistle echoed, summoning us all to silence. The ceremony began. The funeral officer reads out the names one by one. His voice is firm, but occasionally hoarse, as if each name is a stab to his own chest. Around us, the Lunas, Alphas, warriors, and grieving families bow their heads, many unable to hold back their tears. The sound of sobs mingles with the whispered prayers. I clenched my fingers tightly. Five hundred. A number too

The Alpha King's office was filled with the dim light of candles, enough to reveal the weary faces sitting around him. The scent of burning wood lingered in the air, mingling with the smell of blood and iron that had not yet faded from memory. I sat beside Alpha King, my hands clutching the report just sent by Beta Casren. There was something in my chest that made my breath heavy, as though the weight of war had not yet truly ended. "Lyara," Alpha King's voice was soft yet sharp, like a sword that never dulls. "Look at this." I lowered my gaze. The report wasn’t just about the battlefield we had just won. It was about the world. About the light of justice descending not just over the Fanghart palace, not just over the Silvergrove pack’s lands, but spreading to every corner. The entire world witnessed the same enforcement: the bodies of traitors melting before their families and packs. There was no place to hide. My heart was shattered. I imagined how, at the farthest corners of the

Lyara Wolfborne's POV When the blood droplets touched the ground, I felt as if an ancient door was being knocked from within. The first light was not a blinding explosion—it was a long breath descending from beneath my roots, creeping to the surface, then spreading through the veins of the earth. My forehead burned like a split night ablaze. The palms of my hands felt warm like wood newly placed on a fire. When I turned to the sun mirror hanging above the field, the crescent moon symbol on my forehead reflected light like a crown. The sounds around me fell silent. All I heard was a deep beat—not my own heartbeat, but the rhythm of a herd thinking one word: "sacred." The knees that had been tense now touched the ground without command, the faces that were usually hard bowed in solemn and sincere reverence. The urge was not out of fear. They bowed because something older than us called our names, and we recognized it. On the other side, the field erupted in agony. The black wizards

Author POV Lyara didn't fall to the ground. She fell into someone's arms. The burning sensation in her right shoulder, which hadn't completely subsided, made her eyes blurry, but the familiar smell of skin and metal kept her head from sinking. Alpha King embraced her—not as a leader, but as a mate who refused to surrender half of her soul to darkness. “Wake up, Lyara.” His voice was firm, not raised, but carried a weight that forced the world to listen. “You must not lose control. You are the heartbeat of their pack. If the heartbeat stops, the entire pack will shatter.” Lyara drew a noisy breath, the cold air piercing her heated lungs. The hum of the magic arrows that had torn through the shields still echoed in her ears. “I… stand,” she murmured, but her knees wavered. Alpha King held her body steady. On the side of the battlefield, Mira looked up. “Now—second layer!” Her shout pierced the roar of battle. Spells flowed from her lips like strands of silver thread. From dozens of
