Reese’s POV

I was beginning to lose my shit without hearing from Rayne. She said she would call and let me know what was going on with her grandmother, but I haven’t heard a word from her. Finally, I found her grandmother’s home phone number and called the number. An older woman answered the phone and I asked if Rayne was there. She apologized telling me Rayne was away for a birthday get away and I knew at that moment Rayne was lied to by Emma.

“Could you please let her know Reese Cooper called from Ridgewood.” I told her grandmother, and I could hear her talking to herself as she wrote it down. We said our goodbye and I hung the phone up and growled as my wolf was trying to rip free from me.
