Gabriel’s POV

The training grounds buzzed with the hum of warriors in motion. Blades clashed, feet thudded against packed earth, and the occasional grunt echoed across the open clearing. From my vantage on the balcony above, I should’ve felt pride watching the synchronized precision of Blood Moon’s elite. But my eyes were only on her.

Samantha.

Her figure moved awkwardly through the mock drills I had assigned to Caspian. She was out of rhythm. Her stance—too soft. Her shoulders—too tight. Yet, the stubborn fire in her eyes kept her from quitting.

She had insisted on being part of the self-defense program. Said she didn’t want to be "helpless." I hadn’t argued. Not because I thought she was right, but because I couldn’t say no to her when she looked at me like that—hopeful and trying.

"She’s determined," Caspian’s voice came beside me, calm, yet knowing. "But I wouldn’t assign her to frontlines anytime soon."

I grunted. “She’s not going to the front.”

He glanced at me, then chu

“I want—” Her voice cracked. “I need—” He pressed his forehead to hers. “You don’t know what you’re asking. You’re in heat. Everything feels like love.” “No,” she whispered. “This is different. You’re not just anyone.” He cursed under his breath, holding her so tightly she gasped. “You make it so damn hard to be good.” Her lips brushed his jaw. “Then don’t be.” For a second, he almost listened. But then she whimpered again, not from desire—but pain. Her body trembled in his arms, waves of heat racking through her again. Gabriel clenched his jaw, lifting her carefully and laying her back on the couch. “I’m going to help you,” he said, voice tight. “But only to ease the pain.” Her eyes locked on his. “I trust you.” He stripped off his shirt and climbed onto the couch beside her, pulling her into his arms again, skin against skin. The contact made her sigh, some of the pressure easing instantly. But it wasn’t enough. She twisted, pressing her body against his, her nails dig

  • Moonbound to Power    CHAPTER 21: THE TEMPTATION

The minutes stretched like hours. Gabriel sat stiffly on the floor of his office, Samantha cradled in his lap, shivering and slick with sweat. Her skin burned hot against his, each of her soft, panting breaths brushing against his throat like temptation incarnate. Her heat had only intensified. She whimpered again, curling tighter into his chest. He clenched his jaw as his wolf howled beneath the surface, demanding—take her, mark her, now. No. He couldn’t. Wouldn’t. She didn’t even understand what this was. Not fully. She hadn’t been prepared. Her body responded instinctively, and the pull between them was undeniable, but that didn’t make it right. “Samantha,” he whispered, brushing a damp strand of hair from her cheek. “I’ve got you. Just breathe.” She let out a soft cry, writhing helplessly in his arms. “It hurts, Gabriel. I—it hurts so much.” His heart cracked. “I know.” His voice was gravel. “I’m sorry.” Her fingers dug into his shirt, clinging to him like a lifeline.

  • Moonbound to Power    CHAPTER 20: HEAT UNDER THE MOON

The air in Gabriel’s office had always been cool and composed, much like the Alpha himself. But lately, it felt tight. Heavier. Charged. And she was the reason. Samantha sat across from him, focused on her screen, unaware—or perhaps pretending to be—of the way his gaze kept drifting to her. The faint scent clinging to her skin had changed. No longer the crisp woods-and-snow aroma he had come to associate with her. Now it was warmer. More primal. It was driving him mad. “Alpha?” she asked softly, glancing up. His pen stilled in his hand. “Yes,” he answered, sharper than he intended. She flinched, blinking rapidly. “The Northern Claw contract has a clause on estate transfers that might affect your holdings in—” “Bring it here.” She rose, rounding the desk. Gabriel sat rigid as her arm brushed his when she leaned in. Her scent overwhelmed him—spiced honey and something raw. Her breath was slightly uneven, and her fingers trembled faintly as she held out the tablet. He shouldn’

  • Moonbound to Power    CHAPTER 19: HIDDEN POWER

Gabriel’s POV Samantha stood at the edge of the training grounds, sweat-drenched hair clinging to her temples, her fists wrapped and trembling from exertion. Caspian was grinning like a proud father, tossing her a water bottle while warriors around them kept sneaking glances like they couldn’t believe what they’d seen. I couldn’t either. I had watched her slam her palm into a reinforced training dummy—then stood frozen as it cracked down the middle like a splintered tree trunk. No ordinary girl, not even a trained wolf, could’ve done that. Not without a spark of something… more. And Samantha Morgan was supposed to be wolfless. Supposed to be. Caspian jogged toward me, eyes bright beneath his dark curls. “You saw that, right?” “I did.” “She doesn’t even have a wolf yet. Gabriel… what the hell is she?” I didn’t answer. Because I didn’t know. And that terrified me more than anything else. Yesterday's event of her and the dummy bothered me through the night that I thought to ta

  • Moonbound to Power    CHAPTER 18: A LESSON IN STRENGTH

Samantha’s POV The training grounds at Blood Moon Pack were nothing like the quiet woods I used to run through as a child. These were built for war—solid stone flooring, reinforced training dummies, and a perimeter of warriors with blades strapped to their backs. The morning sun was merciless, blazing down as if it too wanted to test my endurance. I wiped sweat from my brow, legs aching, arms sore, and my pride hanging by a thread. Caspian stood a few feet away with his arms crossed over his chest, eyes sharp and watchful. “Again,” he barked. “I need water,” I muttered, panting. “You’ll get it when you finish this combo. Footwork. Posture. Don’t just swing—strike with intent.” The man was relentless. And somehow, that made me grateful. He didn’t pity me, didn’t coddle or whisper about my past. He saw what I didn’t yet believe in: potential. “Fine,” I growled under my breath and turned to face the wooden training dummy again. Every muscle in my body protested, but I sank into
