"Anyways since you don't want to go out, why not accompany me to the luna meeting" Luna Rosa proposed.

"What luna meeting?" Rina asked.

"the Lunas of the neighboring pack are planning the werewolf regional meeting, it's in a month time" Luna Rosa told her.

"a month time?"

"Yes, please come with me" Luna Rosa pleaded.

Rina shifted uncomfortably, this was already passing the boundaries. Rita obviously didn't attend any of the Luna's meetings. If she agreed, wouldn't she be passing her boundaries?

Rina sighed, she had already crossed a lot of boundaries and today was just the second day. What was one more boundary she couldn't cross.

Besides looking at Luna Rosa's hopeful face, how could she say no?

"I will come with you" she assured Luna Rosa.

"That's good news, I will leave in an hour, is that okay?"

"Yes it's okay" Rina assured her.

Luna Rosa smiled at her and left the kitchen to get ready.

Rina collapsed on one of the chairs.

'what the hell was she doing?' she wondered.

She was still thinking the same as she and Luna Rosa shifted to wolf form and ran through the forest to the neighboring pack where the meeting was being held.

They got to their destination and shifted back to human form.

"Luna Rosa, welcome" a woman came up to them.

"this is Luna Tyra, she is the Luna of this pack" luna Rosa whispered to her.

Rina nodded.

"Thanks, it's a pleasure to be here" Luna Rosa told her.

Luna Tyra looked at Rina. "and who is this?" she asked.

Luna Rosa put her arm around Rina.

"This is Rafaele's mate, Rita"

"Oh, why haven't I been seeing you around?" luna Tyra asked.

Rina and Luna Rosa looked at each other awkwardly. They couldn't possibly say, it was because she had neglected all her duties as a luna.

Rina cleared her throat. "Being a luna has been very overwhelming, I begged Luna Rosa to put me through and still hold the luna position while I learn" Rina replied.

"and you have been learning for three years?" Luna Tyra asked, a disturbingly calm expression on her face.

"Yes ma'am, it is quite overwhelming"

"well we should be thankful that you finally joined our meeting. Let's go in, the other ladies are already waiting" Luna Tyra replied, with a dismissed look, she made her way inside.

"I am so sorry Rita, Luna Rosa suggested a match between Rafaele and her daughter Nani, however Rafaele had already set his eyes on you, I am afraid she still feels slighted."

"It's okay mother, I don't mind" Rina assured her.

Truly, she didn't mind, by tomorrow she would be long gone and all of this would be Rita's problem.

They got inside and sat on the available seats.

Luna Tyra sat at the head of the table, by her side was a young lady who looked like her. Rina guessed this was Nani.

Nani shared her mother's feelings judging by the glare she shot at Rina.

Rina sighed, she was the victim here, why was she the one being glared at?

"Shouldn't you be at a party with your friends?" Nani asked Rina in a mocking tone.

"I decided to follow mother to the meeting today, everyday can't be a party day" Rina replied

"hmm, I didn't know you knew how to function at a gathering without alcohol" Nani observed.

Rina smiled at Nani, did she really think she could embarrass her?

"You know, when you get mated, you realize that it comes with a lot of troubles which a little glass can make you feel better, I am sure everyone can agree with me?" Rina asked the table of women.

"Yes, yes, it's true" the women echoed.

"Don't worry Nani, you would understand once you get mated" Rina told Nani in a patronizing tone.

Nani glared at her, 'This bitch was mocking her, who did she think she was?'

Rina smiled at Nani's darkened face. She had grown up in a pack where everyone compared her to her twin sister and made snide remarks about her.

Growing up, Rina had learnt how to be quick with her words as well.

"alright let's start the meeting, we don't have time to waste" Luna Tyra interjected before her daughter exploded out of anger.

The other Lunas stifled their laughter. Luna Tyra always lorded it over them, this was the first time someone was standing up to her.

"We are here to discuss the werewolf regional meeting" Nani, who had self appointed herself secretary began.

"well just like before, I would host it this year as well" Luna Tyra announced before any one could say anything.

Rina looked around, the other Lunas were quiet. None of them even opposed luna Tyra.

"Why?" she asked.

If looks could kill, Rina would be dead from the glares that Luna Tyra and Nani gave her.

"What do you mean why?" Luna Tyra asked.

"Why would you be the one hosting, you hosted last year, we haven't even discussed it and had a vote yet" Rina argued.

"Discussion? Vote? Everyone knows I am the best person to host it. There is no need for a discussion" Luna Tyra said, a tone of finality in her voice.

"Then you shouldn't have invited us for a discussion, you should have just sent us the invitation" Rina ignored Luna Rosa's hand signaling her to stop.

"Then let's have a discussion, who else is interested in hosting the regional werewolf meeting?" Luna Tyra asked.

Rina looked around the table expectantly but nobody's hand was up. The Lunas looked down to avoid her gaze.

"see, no one else is interested. I already knew this, that's why I announced I would host" luna Tyra looked at Rina mockingly.

Rina raised luna Rosa's hand up.

"Our pack is interested in hosting it"

Luna Rosa looked at her in shock.

"What!" she exclaimed.

"You are kidding" luna Tyra said with a laugh.

"I am not, our pack is interested in hosting the meeting." Rosa told her determinedly.

Stefan carried Kaia back to the same hidden underground room where he had kept her before. He laid her gently on the small cot and waited, his eyes watching her closely for any signs of movement. The potion’s effects had been powerful, and for a brief moment, he wondered if she’d truly wake. But then, after what felt like forever, her fingers twitched.Kaia groaned softly and blinked, her gaze unfocused as she stirred awake. She looked around, confused, then finally settled her eyes on him.“It worked,” she whispered.Stefan gave a rare, small smile. “Yes. You’re safe now, your mother played her part well. The king believes you are dead.”Kaia nodded slowly, rubbing her eyes. “She must have been scared.”“She was,” Stefan said gently. “But she didn’t let it show.”Kaia looked away, her face solemn. “What happens now?”“You rest,” Stefan said, standing up. “Stay here. I will be back soon.”With that, he left the room and made his way back to the palace. She looked up when he entere

The door opened and Stefan stepped into the room. Rita stood near the fireplace, clutching a small glass vial in her hand, she rushed to him when she saw him.“You’re back,” she said softly, her voice unsure. He nodded stiffly, his expression was unreadable. She couldn't tell what he was thinking. She placed the potion in his hand carefully, avoiding direct eye contact.“This will make her appear dead,” she said quietly. “Meridia gave it to me herself. It carries her magic, Kaia will look lifeless, there will be no heartbeat or pulse. But she’ll be fine, after a few hours.”Stefan turned the vial slowly between his fingers, the contents within glowed with a soft green shimmer. He stared at it in silence, clearly torn.Rita looked at him, brow furrowed. “You are hesitating,” she said. “Why are you hesitating?”He clenched his jaw. “Because I hate that this is even necessary.”“But at least Kaia lives,” Rita said gently. “That’s better than letting the king get his hands on her, or wo

Rita slowly approached a house and knocked on the door. She had to be cautious not to attract attention. The door opened and a a woman with white long hair peered at her suspiciously. From her eyes, Rita could see she had been crying, her heart went out to her."Who are you?" she asked."Are you Meridia?" Rita asked."Yes, I am Meridia. Who are you?""Please I need to talk to you, it's really urgent" Rita told her.She looked even more suspicious, "who are you?""Please let me in and I will explain."Meridia contemplated for some minutes before letting Rita in.Rita entered the house, "can you put on a silencing spell around the house so no one can hear our conversation.""Why? What do you want? Did the king send you to kill me? I will do what he wants, I just want him to spare my daughter." she pleaded with Rita.Rita removed her cloak covering her face."the king didn't send me but someone else did.""Who?""Stefan"Her eyes got even bigger and she stepped back."The hunting dog? "You have a plan?" Stefan asked."Yes, but it depends on how good a actress her mother is?"Stefan frowned curiously."What do you mean, 'how good an actor?' how does the plan work?""We are going to do the exact same thing I did, fake a death.""But how, the king will know""Isn't she a powerful witch? Plus there is one thing you aren't considering""what's that?""Your loyalty, have you eve gone against the king?" she asked."No, I have never done that""So he wouldn't suspect a thing"Stefan was conflicted, he had never gone against the king before. But then he remembered how Kaia had looked at him and that was all the motivation he needed."I will do it" he immediately agreed. "But she hates me, she knows I was the one in charge of kidnapping her child, why would she believe me?" Stefan asked. "That's true, then, I will talk to her" Rita said. "How are you going to get there unnoticed?" Stefan wondered. "I and Teresa will have to go shopping.""But what if the king suspects yo

Stefan glanced at the young girl tied up. He had put her underground, she couldn't access her powers."Why did you kidnap me?" she asked. He kept quiet and didn't answer her."Please don't hurt my mother" she told him."nothing is happening to your mother, she will be fine" he answered this time.Stefan didn't want her to worry about her mother."I am Kaia, what's your name?" she introduced herself."I can't tell you that""Am I here because my mother doesn't support the king?"Stefan kept quiet."If the king sent someone to kidnap me to hurt my mother, maybe that's why nobody likes him" she continued.Stefan couldn't resist smiling at this, she was very cheeky."You smiled, I was beginning to think you were carved from stone.""are you always this talkative?" he asked."Yes, my mother says I am like a parrot""she is right, you are like a parrot. And I should know, I have one at home""You have a parrot?" she asked, curiosity in her eyes."No, but I have someone at home who talks a l

Stefan stood before the throne where the King sat.“I have a task for you,” the king said, sipping from a gold goblet filled with blood.Stefan gave a sharp nod, eyes cold. “What is it, Your Majesty?”“There’s a witch, Meridia. She has been aiding one of my rivals. Hiding his scouts and sending him visions. I want her silenced.”Stefan tilted his head slightly. “Assassination?”The king smirked. “No. That would be too easy. I want her daughter taken. A child’s grief weakens a mother. And a weakened witch makes mistakes.”Stefan’s jaw tightened. His fingers curled at his side.“She is only a child,” he said slowly, choosing his words carefully. The king’s eyes narrowed, a flicker of amusement and irritation in his expression. “Do I detect hesitation, Stefan?”Stefan didn’t answer. The king stood now, walking toward him. “I allow you to breathe here, Stefan. I let you wear the royal crest and bear my name even though your mother was a filthy half blood I should’ve erased. And now you
