“Damn, it’s still showing,” Zeke grumbled as he got to his feet. “Sorry, boss, I’ll take it to the cleaners and—”

“It’s okay, Zeke, seriously,” Kingsley said, his gaze locked on Lorenzo, who lingered by the door. “Can you pull the car up front? I’ll catch you outside.”

“I get to drive your car?” Zeke asked, caught off guard. Kingsley gave a silent nod, passing over the keys without a second thought about his pricey ride. “Cool! I’ll ring you.”

Zeke spun around, ignoring Lorenzo as he headed for the exit. He mumbled an ‘excuse me’ since Lorenzo was in the way. Lorenzo shifted aside, his stare still fixed on his old staffer.

After a stretch of quiet, Kingsley exhaled and faced the mirror. He snatched some paper towels to dab at the mark on his trousers, not keen on heading out like that. He sent a mental thanks to fate for skipping his beige slacks that morning, which he’d nearly grabbed.

Kingsley didn’t glance up at the approaching steps but kept a straight face, dabbing away. He knew

  • More Than His Touch   Chapter 42

“I truly believe Matt is nursing a serious crush on Noelle, so I’m seriously considering pairing them up for the next group project,” Kai declared, his eyes sparkling with mischief as he gestured animatedly with his fork. “Plus, Matt is an absolute wizard at history, and Noelle is teetering on the edge of failing if she doesn’t pull her grades up soon. It’s the perfect solution—two problems solved with one strategic move.”Kai was in full teacher-mode, passionately venting about his students while the four men finished their dessert. Roan propped his chin on his hand, elbow on the table, gazing at his husband with that soft, indulgent focus he always wore whenever Kai got like this. Every few minutes Kai would get so caught up in his story that he’d forget to take a bite, and Roan would either gently nudge the fork toward his mouth or simply feed him himself, a quiet act of devotion that never failed to make Kingsley’s chest feel warm.Lorenzo and Kingsley exchanged amused glances as

“I always found it odd that you never brought me to your place, but now it clicks,” Lorenzo remarked with a laugh as he scanned Kingsley’s expansive bedroom.“You never suggested coming over either,” Kingsley shot back as he pivoted to look at Lorenzo. They were both sprawled nude on his bed, fresh from their second bout of intimacy.“I assumed you might have roommates or whatever, and with us keeping everything under wraps… my spot just felt like the more secure choice,” Lorenzo clarified.“That tracks,” Kingsley murmured.“I dig your apartment,” Lorenzo commented.“I don’t,” Kingsley replied nonchalantly. “Yours feels better. It’s got character and… feels like a real home.”“You could hang some photos on the walls and add a few plants, perhaps. Liven things up a little,” Lorenzo proposed. He’d picked up on how barren Kingsley’s place seemed, even with the top-notch furnishings. It resembled a show home more than a lived-in space for years.“Possibly,” Kingsley mumbled. Lorenzo stret

Kingsley’s spine slammed against the wall as he eyed Lorenzo advancing toward him at a deliberate pace. With each passing moment, Kingsley’s pulse raced harder. Lorenzo hadn’t laid a finger on him yet, just tormenting him with that intense gaze sweeping across his fully dressed form.Kingsley’s breathing faltered as Lorenzo shrugged off his suit jacket, letting it tumble carelessly to the ground while he tugged his tie loose. The predatory glint in his eyes made Kingsley feel like hunted game for the first time ever—and he didn’t hate it. If anything, it thrilled him. So much that the tent in his trousers was already impossible to miss. His stare dropped to Lorenzo’s groin as the man undid his belt. Kingsley swallowed hard. He hadn’t hooked up with anyone besides Lorenzo in ages, and he had no desire to. Back when they weren’t an item, every time he hit the town and someone even glanced his way with interest, it just felt… off. Like he was meant for Lorenzo alone. The mere idea of ano

“—I dunno, we’ve been trying to set something up since then, but either work’s got me tied up or it’s him. We can’t snag a slot where we’re both free. It’s driving me nuts, but what can you do? We’ve both got companies riding on us.”“Damn,” Roan commented once Kingsley wrapped his vent. “Weekend?”“Got a shoot and magazine chat Saturday. And Lorenzo’s got plans to tour his brother and fiancée around town,” Kingsley sighed, adjusting his tie in the mirror. His phone was on speaker, updating Roan and Kai on life.“I’m just stoked you two hashed it out and got back on track,” Kai said.“And no more hiding or job worries.”“Yeah,” Kingsley paused. “Gotta admit, the sneaking was a thrill at first, but long-term… should’ve seen it’d spell trouble. But hey, wasn’t eyeing long-term then.”“All’s good if it ends good, bud,” Roan chimed.“We’re keeping it hush-hush still, though,” Kingsley added, eyeing his cufflink box for the right pair. “Smart to let months pass between my exit and us going

“—I truly believe their latest venture could be a game-changer. We’re not totally sold on their track record yet, but I honestly think the gamble’s worth it,” Zeke wrapped up, prompting Kingsley to hum thoughtfully as he nodded, scanning the documents.“Just weeks on the job and you’re already pushing me toward bold moves,” Kingsley remarked. “Pretty gutsy.”“Just skim their pitch one more time. If it grabs you, we can set up a demo, and you can decide from there,” Zeke suggested. “I’ve got a solid instinct about them and their approach.”“I value your take,” Kingsley paused. “Book a session with them and have them prep a demo.”“Right away, boss,” Zeke grinned.Kingsley was settling more into his role with each passing day. He and Zeke had bonded, grinding through extended shifts five days a week, and occasionally weekends. Kingsley could even call him a buddy at this point.Beyond Zeke, the rest of the staff was gradually opening up to him, something Kingsley appreciated. He’d throw
