I bounced her a little as I gave her a big smile. “Are you sure you want me to be your daddy, little one?” I teased. “I snore and fart!”

She giggled as she nodded enthusiastically. “Farts are funny! Do you burp too?”

I looked around as if I were trying to make sure that no one was listening to us before lowering my voice. “I’ll tell you a little secret. I can burp the alphabet!”

She gasped loudly. “No way!”

“Yep! I can! My brother taught me when I was your age!” I told her.

“That is so cool! I used to think that farting and burping were gross, but then Mama Naomi farted when she burped and laughed until she peed on herself.”

“Did she now?”

“Yep! She had to go home wearing some of Mr. Tom’s clothes. I thought it was so funny! She told me that it was completely normal and that I shouldn’t be embarrassed by my body. She said everyone farted and burped.”

I nodded. “And she’s right! You shouldn’t ever be ashamed to burp or fart! It’s better out than in!”
